- So Ron Paul is an honest Republican. Sort of an oxymoron, isn''t it? And just think, some Repugs don''t even believe in evolution. - Ron Paul presents the most consistent and sensible message of any of the candidates of either party. While it is true you can not always believe campaign rhetoric, look at his voting record. He is a strict constitutionalist who as has from the beginning opposed the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, and other policies many of the Democratic frontrunners supported and only now condemn. At the same time, his voting record shows that he always opposes higher taxes and bigger government, and he fervently supports individual rights (particularly as they apply to minority populations). This may be hard to believe, but Ron Paul is indeed a politician who does what he says!
