If all those homeless, hungry, and cold people, read bums, would get a JOB, they would not be homeless, hungry, and cold. But wait, they now are probably spending the free money they get on wine and drugs which means if they got a JOB, they could not live that lifestyle....

I remember when a gay guy was looking under a blanket of a fellow Marine many years ago. I can''t tell you what happened to that sick *** when other Marines caught him. You know, don''t ask , don''t tell. This is an example of how the military will be run by a fascist non American like POTUS Obama who knows nothing about Military life and traditions. uugghhh!!

"He never explained what "change" he was talking about .."

Remember 7-Up the Un-cola? Obama will be the Un-Bush.

Pretty much figure change means fixing the enormous amount of things ol'' Dubbya and his incompetent GOP insider friends broke these past eight years.

Its difficult to "embrace" anything that Obama promised as change. He never explained what "change" he was talking about and he really hasn''t done anything yet.

All of those issues are nothing compared to the million plus homeless people we have living on the streets right now. Its all about priorities. We have Americans that are destitute, hungry and cold. I will be impressed by the Obama Administration when America cleans up its own back yard and takes care of its own first. Our citizens and our people first for a change not oil companies and corporate America. Its not fear its reality and these people need help now.

I have read all of the comments and a few of them make some sense. Why do most people think that the government has to fix this? When did we give so much CONTROL to the government? Some of us want to be in control of our own lives. I am not so lazy as to let the government make all my decisions for me!!

I give the new administration about six months and they will do something that turns popular opinion back to the way Americans are supposed to think.

I think gay people should be allowed to serve openly in the armed forces. As a matter of fact, I think we should honor them by forming all gay military units. In order to show their combat capabilities our gay heros should be the first sent into battle in every conflict. Perhaps Obama could make Barney the commander of our all gay units.

Camp Gitmo should never have been created in the first place. The whole idea was because it''s beyond U.S. proper, it''s beyond U.S. laws. It''s a totally ludicrous idea, yet one that was advanced by the previous administration. Using the same logic, I suppose you could take somebody in a boat out to sea, tie them up and throw them in the water, then declare yourself beyond the reach of the law.

Due to a recent compilation of reports, our economy is in need of an oil drilling plan that is supported by the EPA and environmentalist groups. There are over 3 trillion barrels of oil in the shale deposits, undrilled oil fields, and in the Alaskan Wildlife Reserve, all of which are off limits to conventional drilling. New techniques, such as directional drilling, have been developed to minimize damage to our natural resources and wildlife. Our current output of oil for world consumption is 10 percent (America uses that PLUS foreign oil). We need the CASH for our failing credit system, and we need to sell more of our own oil to foreign countries. We need to lift the trade embargo on ourselves. To not do so would be to shoot ourselves in the foot. There should be a federal regulation put in place, though. A certain percentage of profit must go into the research and development of green technologies so that we can ween ourselves off of oil and gradually make the transition to green energy resources.
