In a breakdown of top energy issues, you''ll find the GOP is in favor of more options for energy than the Democrats.
ANWR Exploration House Republicans: 91% Supported House Democrats: 86% Opposed
Coal-to-Liquid House Republicans: 97% Supported House Democrats: 78% Opposed
Oil Shale Exploration House Republicans: 90% Supported House Democrats: 86% Opposed
Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration House Republicans: 81% Supported House Democrats: 83% Opposed
Refinery Increased Capacity House Republicans: 97% Supported House Democrats: 96% Opposed
That''s startling information. Look at that again. Put another way, the Republicans are opposed to grinding our economy to a halt due to soaring energy costs and the Democrats are in favor of shutting down our economy and way of life.
oh, yeah, i forgot my main point... of course you cannot be objective about the economy - unless you don''t have to worry about money. what kind of insensitive, arrogant, and selfish question is that? even if you have money, you should not be objective about the economy and you should worry about those who are struggling (which is the majority of us). but, if you are selfish and greedy, you can be objective - but, don''t call yourself a human being, or a christian.
this article is all opinion. i am so sick and tired of rich people talking about the economy. as far as they are concerned, they have money - they don''t care if our economy is in the tank and could care less... they are selfish because they''ve never had to do without and suffer. the republicans don''t know how to govern and by their own admittance, they believe in a "hands off" attitude with the economy. sadly, what you get with hands off is big corporations engaging in immoral business practices, not paying their fair share of taxes, and actually getting government subsidies - the airline industry is a perfect example of a "free market" - unregulated and dependent on the government for bailouts every year (100''s of billions) compare that with amtrack which operates in the black every year. we need a "hands on" attitude on every aspect of our culture, society, politics, economy and market. without proper maintenance, they will fail. think about what happens when you don''t properly maintain you car...
PS Like isn''t it objectively accepted that new small businesses create the majority of new jobs, and that therefore tax cuts and regulation breaks which optimize the success rates for new businesses is key to creating new jobs? And isn''t that why Barack and McCain''s positions are basically the same in that respect - Dems support tax cuts, GOP support government spending on start up support and loan programs.
McCain''s been trying to tell people that his plan is different from Barack''s but I don''t think he realizes that their plans are both the same. Barack tried to tell him that, but probably in the first debate/townhall you''ll hear McCain try to make that same assertion LOL
Hard to ever know whether he''s intentionally trying to distort people''s stances or whether he''s really that clueless just like with the Sunni/Shiite thing . . .
I find the title of this article kind of strange . . . like doesn''t the title imply that the writer has assumed that objectivity is possible and that we voters are incapable of being objective? But then she doesn''t go on to establish that objectivity is capable before dividing us up into right and left. I don''t find that very instructive.
Like maybe a better place to start the dialogue would be with what economic goals are universally shared, like the desire for economic growth coupled with low inflation (?) Then the question becomes about how do we get there based on what ideas AREN''T working, doesn''t it?
China trade deficit - adding growth but adding inflation . . . benefits outweigh the costs? optimization?
Avoiding future credit crises - costing growth, costing inflation, but adding government regulation . . . benefits outweigh the costs?
Stimulating the economy - conditions needed for one to be effective . . . any way to optimize?
If the case can be made by citing past history that there IS an objective RIGHT way to proceed, I don''t think you''ll see most people having a ''bias'' . . . like we aren''t stupid . . .

Where have you been. You used to be on this site all the time talking about how Hillary had this election in the bag, and how Obama had no chance.
You seem to not be posting as much anymore. What happened....???
