- The RepubliCON legacy of economic meltdowns, Hoover - the Great Depression, and W (Wimp) Bush, the Great Depression 2? We simply can not afford the RepubliCON party in power anymore...

- Bottom line McCain''s got finger prints on both the S&L and present day banking meltdowns which constitute direct connections to proven failures in economic policy.
We can''t afford another Sub Prime melt down! - Reply to this comment
- Speaking of deregulation let''s take a look at Phil Gramm, McCain''s economic adviser.
The general co-chairman of John McCain %u2019s presidential campaign, former Sen. Phil Gramm (R-Texas), led the charge in 1999 to repeal a Depression-era banking regulation law (see Gramm-Leach Act) which contributed significantly to today%u2019s Sub Prime meltdown and economic turmoil. - Reply to this comment
- McCain was one of the Keating 5.
I ask all Americans to google the Keating 5/S&L scandal.
McCain/Bush and his family were all over this and it cost the American tax payer over $1.4 trillion dollars!
It stems from deregulation of the S&Ls. - Reply to this comment

Hey, I like my loom- and my spinning wheel too!
I get a LOT more EXERCISE, and some really cute DESIGNER shawls for a LOT less that a GYM membership I''d have dress up for and drive 20 miles to attend.

- homespunlady.....OIL FIX?....are you Amish?....I am part Pennsylvania Dutch myself, but come on....do you realize that everything from Plastics, motors, fuels, engines, generators, powerplants, industrialized cities and millions of cars, use oil?.....this is not an "OIL FIX" as you say.....it is an undeniable fact of life....get your head out your loom now and then

Are you confused? I haven''t heard anyone insisting we stop using oil to make everyday products. We are talking about oil as energy, not as industrial raw material. If we burn less oil, of course, we''ll have more of it to use for plastics and other applications. - Reply to this comment
- That''''s startling information. Look at that again. Put another way, the Republicans are opposed to grinding our economy to a halt due to soaring energy costs and the Democrats are in favor of shutting down our economy and way of life.

It doesn''t do any good to just look those numbers. More important than those numbers is how does, for example, drilling in ANWR improve our energy self-sufficiency? How much will that oil mean in terms of reducing our demand for imported oil? How long will it last? A modest reduction in our oil bill for a year is not a long-term solution while creating further pollution and long-lasting environmental damage in some of our wilderness areas. What''s startling about your information is that you are so willing to accept a complete picture of total energy sufficiency based on very limited data. - Reply to this comment

- Watch this short speech by Obama, unedited, where he describes dis-arming the USA, so does he want Iran to have nuclear weapons, attack us, and then we have no ability to retaliate? China and Russian leaders are literally laughing at this notion Obama describes...
Please watch this, it is very alarming, to say the least.
