Christians, among all others wrapped up in their god, live life window shopping for the hereafter. They are blind to their true surroundings, preferring to follow sound bites much as a bat homes in with it''s radar. They are just as creepy too.

nggr,
What you call "blind", other more educated and wise people may call fact and knowledge. Just becasue you are not wise enough to understand, does not mean no one else is.

because its important to know what these people will blindly believe, in the face of mountains and mountains of evidence to the contrary.
it really is.

Just because one can twist opinions and facts to support their arguement does not make that arguement correct.

I''''ll make you a deal, I''''ll stop pointing out the absurdity of religion, when you believers stop flying planes into buildings in the name of god, stop forcing religion on me by legislating morality, putting "In God We Trust" on my currency, making me swear to tell the truth, "so help me God," stop stealing money from the poor and the elderly to finance your religion, etc., etc.

You are most amusing.

I could react by saying you athiests are all child porn loving, incestual, murdering, thieving, Clinton like liars since I know of criminals that are athiests who have done all this and more. You think that just because someone believes in God they are like all others who believe in a God of their own? Hypocritical moron!!

I know of religions that have sent billions of dollars to needy people, who have sent their "missionaries" to underprivledges lands to do no more than relief work. What have you and your athiest brothers done that you can show with honor?

For someone who has repeatedly called me "ignorant" to complain that I have insulted him by suggesting that others pay him little attention seems a touch contradictory.

Yes, Alan, contrary to what you snidely imply, I believe I MAY be wrong. And since you claim the mantle of humility about your opinions (IMHO?), I must assume you believe YOU may be wrong also (although you''ve left us little evidence of the sincerity of that claim).

That I find ludicrous your assertion that the Bible is inerrant(because it says it is) is perhaps a small point of disagreement. Our differing belief systems are obviously contrary when it comes to the place of logic in argumentative discussion.

But our main point of disagreement is that you would codify your beliefs so that ALL must obey in accordance.

I was born in a state and at a time (there were only 48 then, but all had similar statutes) when homosexuality had been criminalized by people who believed as you appear to. And where abortion had been criminalized by people who believed as you have stated you do -- condemming thousands of women to back alleys and coat hangers whether they accepted your belief system or not.

As I have said before, spare me the claim that there is no difference between fetal and "post-fetal" existance because there is -- biological, philosophical, and moral.

Again, I may be wrong, but it is my heart and MY understanding of the love of Christ, not YOURS, that determines my behavior.

Could you equate conditional love as the same as conditional religion? I mean I get emails constantly referring that IF I love god, Jesus, or allah, or hubbard, I will pass it on to my friends. Why would people feel that conditional responses would make any differences in personal beliefs anyway? What is the individuality in that? I have a tee shirt that I wear a lot that says, Beware of Stupidity in Large groups of people, and always someone remarks and says that is one of the truest statements they ever read, they are available at any Target store. I have another one that says Beware of Stupid People in Large Groups, it gets the same results too. Tee shirts are great for advertising ideas and feelings.

Please clarify what d&f means and no the central part of human life does not revolve around money but human relationships and on this ground there is a definite divide between conservatives and liberals

Okay, D&F policies, I''m only speculating, refers to Domestic and Foreign Policies. Now, your turn: What is the divide between conservatives and liberals on the "human relationships" ground? Please educate us.

It is people such as yourself who are probably areligious find it easy to blame human misbehaviour on religion than to simply accept that humans are willing and able to do horrible things to each other no matter what their philosophy.

Now we''re getting somewhere. I totally agree that people are capable of doing horrific things, regardless of their religion. I just happen to believe that religion is and has been the most powerful tool in history for accomplishing these horrible things, and I see no reason to encourage people to do things based upon an absurd belief. For example, the pyschological harm done by the "faithful" to gay and lesbian children in this country is simply unforgiveable. These children will carry those psychological scars the rest of their lives, all because someone so desperately needed to believe that his translation of the Bible was God''s word, and not just something made up by men who had a specific agenda they were trying to achieve.

Spend your time usefully -- re-arrange your sock drawer or something.

I guess if I don''t agree with you I''m wrong or as you state have blinders on. Could it be that you may be wrong? Nah impossible. We can agree to disagree but we don''t have to insult the other person because we disagree.
