- I think all professors at every university should now carry a weapon and be given free on-going combat training to better take care of their classrooms in the future.

- my truly condelences to all victims families, but we got to see that something more terrify in all this tragedy, this show us that your advance society from 1st world got a big problem , all this violence is just a little proof, that, violence generate violence...We as parents, as society, got to do something really big to heal our children from all this crazy and violent media, this poor soul was full of hate and blood, if you are looking somebody to blame, in all this case , where it was his parents ? what it was doing a sick boy in a high class university? or his was really sick? and, all that people that torture, attack or hurt this boy, dont you have to feel some blame for all this? i think virginia tech dosnt have just one killer that day, there were cho and all the people that fill his soul with hate through all his sad life.
Our children are the future, and it depends from us what kind of world we want for them. - Reply to this comment

I inadvertantly left out the most appropriate of your posting
"Stats have shown different things from different people who have different agendas but it appears that crime in Australia Canada and Britain is now far greater per head of population than in America.."
As I said totally ridiculous. - Reply to this comment
- I find it inappropriate to: 1.The press to air the killer's face, actions, hateful words.
2. Allow people to bear arms for the sole reason of killing and for health/mental reasons they must not bear arms.
3.Fail to teach good manners toward us who are old, handicapped, gender, race, faith, etc.
4.bully,name calling.
5 worship the gun as you feel the need carry it.
We are in sorrow as a nation and I for one will pray for the families, students and preach not. - Reply to this comment
- have a real problem with the media for constantly bombarding us with this pornographic video of this killer, for ratings, how perverse.Posted by kailumego1 at 07:05 PM : Apr 20, 2007
We've had three copy-cat style threats in our town one at my son's community college causing a lock down. Today a hostage killed at NASA. The media was highly irresponsible airing the graphic images of the VT shooter. - Reply to this comment

"Here in Australia along with Canada and Britain they have banned guns. As someone has said on here, the crims never give in their guns, in fact the black market thrived after they destroyed the guns. The crim now knows that the people cant protect ourselves, and we are easy game.."
Your statement here is so wrong, to be at the point of ridiculous.
Here in Australia, our gun deaths in criminal matters, are to high, but much less than those in the U.S. as is the same in those countries you have slandered along with this country.
Further the gun related death rate in Australia is a small fraction only of that in America, as is the case in those other countries you have slandered.
To be fair to America, all figures should be looked at in a pro rata situation, as a percentage of the respective populations, any other way would show U.S. figures in a totally inappropriately high situation
All I can say7, is CHECK YOUR FACTS. - Reply to this comment

The authorities say crime with guns is down?????, they have to eh....but we see differently or we see crime has increased so drastically that it is frightening.. they dont need a gun to kill someone... some say crime with guns is up - Reply to this comment

I am in total accordance with you bravo !!!
Violence portrayed as the norm on television particuarly, and Video games, some of which have reached the point of being totally sick, and of course movies. is out of control.
The relaxation of censorship scales, means the governments, and relevant bodies must be apportioned a part of the blame, and we the public in general for allowing our elected representatives to enable this situation to arise.
The portrayal of violence, to enhance the sale of particular programs is becoming beyond comprehension, much more so as is the case in childrens programs. - Reply to this comment
- My heart goes out to this and all the families affected by this tragedy. I can't possibly imagine what this family feels knowing it was your love one that caused this senseless violence.
But, I do respect them, because they came forward and humbled themselves, for what, I'm sure is a "NIGHTMARE".
In light of their humble apology, however, it makes me wonder why the parents of the Columbine shootings didn't come forward? Why didn't we hear from them?????
Those blaming God, are like black folks blaming whites for their misfortune. Did you ever ask yourself, maybe if they held GOD within this/and other wanton acts of violence wouldn't occurred.
Taken from the lyrics of Stevie Wonder, "Loves in need of love today, don't delay send your love right away".
It's because this generation has become so misanthropic and apathetic is the reason behind these acts of gratuitous violence.
People have become so desensitized towards violence that it no longer affects them to commit such heinous and grotesque acts of murder.
I have a real problem with the media for constantly bombarding us with this pornographic video of this killer, for ratings, how perverse.
For what, so all the wannabes can get some vicarious thrill over all the attention this "freak" is getting.
This is what sociopaths/psychopaths/anti-social personalities crave media attention, and what a sucker, they caved in, to this lunatic.

- from Australia, My heart goes out to you in America...
my heart also goes out to the young man who killed himself, as from what I have read he had been bullied so badly.
Although many of the children and young adult stories on TV are fantastic so many of them are full of nastiness and bullying towards each other, so we have seen a massive increase in bullying in schools and children dont need this encouragement on TV, they do it naturally anyway... the anguish that this young man must have gone through to end up doing this is horrible to think about... and thus the anguish he has caused these beautiful families who will never be the same again, is unthinkable and the world cries for them...
I think it is about time that we take stock of what we are putting on TV, hrs and hrs of watching violence has to produce violence, and hasn't that been proven.. children watching bullying is going to produce some bullies..child bullies grow up to be adult bullies..
and yes along with the violence and bullying, the stories are exciting and fantastic etc, I watch them myself, and for most people it doesnt effect, but we have seen the outcome for a percentage of people.. - Reply to this comment
