Cho Family Says It Feels "Hopeless, Helpless"; Vigils And Prayer Services Span U.S.
Everyone is asking why? He told us the answer. Payback. People messing with him because he was quiet and didn't fit in. He said those Rich so and so's constantly working him over through the years. I tell you what, you can only push people so far until they break. I will bet, this wont be the last time somebody lashes in this way. You can prevent this type of thing by teaching your children very young to not pick on people who appear different from yourself. People who are fragile to start with very young and get treated very bad, sometimes do very bad things when they are older.
We can all learn a valuable lesson from this.

- As the tradegy that is Virginia Tech still continues to unfold, I too, send my sympathy and condolences to those lost and left behind. But a a piece of me is asking why there is no National Day of Mourning for the brave young men and women lost so far in Iraq.

- I can only imagine what the parent of the shooter is going through right now.Hopefully no one will be harsh on them. im sure they didnt know that their son would pull such a horrendous thing.they need our prayer not our condemnation.

- Please preach your faith elsewhere, Michelle, as it is wholly inappropriate here in this subject. There is a Constitutional issue with Church and State, as has been said, taught, and upheld through all three branches of government many times over. It is found that the freedom to practice religion is also a freedom FROM religion.

- I hope that the killer's family is left alone.
If those who evaluated him did not inform the parents, as indicated, and he was always closed to them as well, they did not know how dangerous their son was.
Let them mourn along with the families of the other victims. - Reply to this comment
- I have just read the constitution on computer and it does not say sep of church and state after I posted as I was taught it years ago. I have no idea why the bible, prayer were barred at school and home other than fear. I was taught it was sep church and state. God is at the heart of this nation.I don't attend church and no 1 church is right for every one. It is smart not to have a national church but still be one nation under God. Prayer, love of God,Bible lessons ,Faith in God,nation, family, and like should be apart of learning. We must hold freedom dear.

- When is the National Day of Mourning for the soldiers & civilians killed in Iraq and Pakistan?Oh, I forgot- that would reflect badly on the Bush administration. Another example of the right wing bias in the U.S. news media.

- oh. have i touched a sensitive spot? what's with the capitalization? haha.
like i said before, owning a gun is a privilege, not a right. if you want to own a gun, that's your perogative. but at least go through more than a credit check. btw, Cho wasn't a criminal til the day of. i dont think he would have been issued a gun if they ran an extensive search on his mental problems. i win. - Reply to this comment
- "We live in a world where more and more women are unaccompanied at odd hours, or they are vulnerable in dangerous places - a world where restraining orders are often ineffective and the police cannot be counted upon to arrive in time, if at all. In such a world, women must be able to protect themselves. In terms of both deterrence and lethal force, guns are among the most effective tools available for self-defense." --Mary Zeiss Stange, "Guns, like abortion, are a matter of choice",

no, bad people are responsible for them.....
keep the blame where it belongs..... on the criminals.... - Reply to this comment
- So, tell me Jennifer, how exactly did banning guns on the VTech campus stop Cho?(hint, IT DIDN'T!)
Maybe if criminals obeyed the law, gun control laws would work - BUT CRIMINALS DO NOT OBEY THE LAWS! They couldn't care less that murder, rape, and drugs are illegal. THEY DO IT ANYWAYS!
Banning guns in the whole country would be any homicidal maniac's dream-come-true and would work about as good as banning marijuana does(marijuana has been illegal for over 70 years yet today it is America's #1 CASH CROP!)
