Politico: Some Republicans Worry Party Has Waited Too Long To Establish Counterproposal To Democrats
- The GOP has been stumbling and fumbling since the last couple of years of the Bush administration when it became obvious that America and the world was tired of the lies and deceit. The religious reich running the party has destroyed any remaining credibility the party may have had.
They now have an opportunity to rebuild themselves into a political power worthy of respect and have a possibility of returning to the white house in 8 years. But if they continue with these expressions of ineptitude, only the rise of a new party with a different name and base will allow a conservative voice in American politics. - Reply to this comment
- I ask for an efficient government agency and the NWS is the best you can come up with. What a joke you are.
How about SS, medicare, or the VA. any substantial gov agency is a screwed up as hogan's goat.

You ask for one and I gave you one. Now, after we all lost most of our 401k in the private sector, tell me how great it works again. - Reply to this comment
- You folks are looking at the countries with socialized health care and don't even understand that 40-50% of their earned dollars are sucked up into government control...

It is absolutely amazing how totally ignorant you are. You have no idea of what you are talking about. You just talk to hear yourself.
$50 a month for a single person is 40 to 50% of their wages? $90 a month for a couple is 40 to 50% of their wages? $130 a month for a family.......? You need to talk about something you know. That's not possible though, is it? - Reply to this comment
- the National Weather Service comes to mind.

- Then of course there is the issue that in the UK the government decided some breast cancer medicine was too expensive so they just said that women could not have it.

- I wouldn't be so afraid of socialized medicine if someone could tell me one thing the government does efficiently and effectively.

Ahhh, the biggest lie of all. The conservatives hate government and when they weasel into power do everything they can to undermine its operation. Then, they point at the underfunded organization (now being run by a former lobbyist that previously had lobbied against the organization he now manages) and proclaim the government inefficient. In response to your question, the National Weather Service comes to mind. Remember when Senator Santorum (R) tried to get rid of them? - Reply to this comment
- The media ignoring the Republican healthcare alternatives does not mean that something has not been offered. There have been numerous Republican politicians that have offered suggestions. No matter what they come up with the media will say the same thing that they did when the Republican budget came out. The same response to the Tea Parties. The Liberal media response is typical and completely expected.

- "Your blind allegiance to right-wing-idiots (Sara Palin: I can see Russia from my house!)
reveals your ignorance about the world around you."
........
You do realize this quote you are citing as fact was from Saturday Night Live. The media is so biased that many do not even know this was a joke on NBC.
Drugs are not cheaper all around the world. In Socialized medicine countries you may pay less when you go to the pharmacy, but you have already paid the difference and then some in your taxes. Whether you need medicine or not. It would be nice to know details such what is covered, how it is covered, and what it costs before we entrust our dollars to a goverment sponsored univeral health care plan. What if the premiums are 10, 20 or 50% greater than they are now. Will we be choosing our own doctors and hospitals. No one has provided any details yet expect us to be supportive. - Reply to this comment
