- Israel has the right to defend itself. Period. Hamas is bent on the destruction of Israel. The USA after 9/11 and Iraq cannot criticize this anymore. We all know we would do the same. That debate is over.
Why attack now? Israel is not stupid. Obama may have been saying the right things when he was running for president this summer but this didnt fool anyone over in Israel. They know Obama for what he is.....a lying SOB who would say whatever to whomever just to get elected. Don''t believe me? Watch him wishy washy vaguely waddle and um and ah his way around this minefield.....
Go Israel Go!!!! - Reply to this comment
- This is just what many of us meant when we said that Obama was dangerously naive. Pandering for votes, he foolishly created an excuse for the Jews to kill more Palestinians. Now the U.S. has to involve itself, again. Obama is naive.

I agree. As a matter of fact, Jews and Muslims are brothers. Look at the Bible and the Quoran (spelling?) They were occupying and sharing the same land. Then the tribes got split-up by religious diferences and the world hasn''t be at peace ever since. There will never be peace among them. I don''t care who the president is; this one or the next one hundred presidents, things will never change. - Reply to this comment
- How could anyone pretend to be shocked by this? Why does everyone pretend that the GOP has a decided preference for white? This is a surfacing of what is always subcutaneous with the republicans. This action is merely reflecting part of the unspoken agenda.

- Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
The 2 people in Israel are a shame. But the 300+ dead at their hand is an even bigger shame. One wrong does not make a greater wrong right.
There are dead women and children. Someone needs to speak up and stop this. - Reply to this comment
- Still, these guys refused Hamas a seat at the table. Today, we are seeing the consequences of this insanity. If Obama/Clinton hope to have better luck, they must acknowledge the realities of the situation and include Hamas in any negotiations.

You point out one of the problems. They get extremely ticked off because they can''t get their twelfth century culture a seat at a twenty-first century table. - Reply to this comment
- Dear Mr. President elect I did vote for you and would like you to consider this.

- Historically, Bush/Rice have, along with Israel and the PLO, excluded Hamas from any ME negotiations. Bush/Rice have operated under the delusion that Hamas did not matter. This did this even when Carter, who had met with Hamas, brought back word that Hamas was willing to meet with the above parties. Still, these guys refused Hamas a seat at the table. Today, we are seeing the consequences of this insanity. If Obama/Clinton hope to have better luck, they must acknowledge the realities of the situation and include Hamas in any negotiations.

- Israel has been on the fronter burner of every president since Truman. Nothing new there. I wish people would attempt to get along but because they won''t, God is going to settle the matter some day himself. Nobody gets along anywhere, not just Israel and Hamas. We can look in our own back yard and see the same century old hatreds.

- Obama has made it plain and clear and repeated it many times that Al-Qaeda must be destroyed. I am sure he feels the same about Hamas.
It was Bush and company that pressured Israel to create Hamastan. - Reply to this comment
- The Gaza Bombshell
After failing to anticipate Hamas%u2019s victory over Fatah in the 2006 Palestinian election, the White House cooked up yet another scandalously covert and self-defeating Middle East debacle: part Iran-contra, part Bay of Pigs. With confidential documents, corroborated by outraged former and current U.S. officials, the author reveals how President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Deputy National-Security Adviser Elliott Abrams backed an armed force under Fatah strongman Muhammad Dahlan, touching off a bloody civil war in Gaza and leaving Hamas stronger than ever.
