HA HA HA
I don''t think that any reporter will be elected for any office except maybe DOG CATCHER. After the way they have lied, and were so obviously drooling over Obama, I think they should all be hired to be garbage collectors. That job might be too good for them, but they do have the qualifications. I hope to move back to Pa in time to vote NO for this jerk.

If you watch Matthews regularly, you see intense interest in protecting rights and championing causes for the average Joe/Jill. Right/Left alike understand this is a compassionate/intellectual person.
President-elect Obama insprires another well-intentioned person into public service.

I have to laugh at the fools (or Einsteins) who see this as a publicity stunt. Matthews and Obama were not groomed for any job, unlike George W Bush. If there ever was a political masthead of little substance, it was Bush. He''s a truly pathetic figure.

Republicans can''t rebuild their party until they understand why the Democrats prevailed and will continue to do so. The uneducated, uninformed, white base of their party can still be ''fooled all of the time''. Unfortunately, there aren''t numbers to win national elections.

Add another Democrat to the Senate, neo cons will be gearing up with hate in the months ahead.

This next election is going to be as good as this one was.

Motormouth has never been anything in the brains department.Otherwise ,he would have learned the lesson from what happened in the run-off Senate election in Georgia the other day.Obama''s coattails are not going to help.

I think Matthews as US Senator would be FANTASTIC for the whole country- Lucky Pennsylvania!

When Obama is done he would be a good President as well- what a sense of history and vast knowledge-

GO CHRIS GO!

Matthews is a good man.

How many republican politicians served in the Peace Corp, or the military for that matter?

Bet you can count them on your fingers.

Quite a few Republicans mentioned on these sites including Christofer Shays (R) of CT.

I could send more links but than your hand would look like an octopus.

Do some research before being partisan and a fool

"Just what we need...another stupid, ignorant, brainless, clueless, classless, mindless, idiotic, moronic, imbecile in the Senate.

Let me see...that would make about, errr . . . 100!"

Amen. Arlen Spectre is the scary kind of lifetime politician I fear. Better an infusion of looney new blood than the stale tired blood of an clueless (when it comes to real life) old politician. As for the charge that Mathews needs to quit to keep MSNBC from looking biased, it doesn''t matter. If you are conservative, you listen to Fox; if you are liberal, you listen to one of the others; and if you prefer to judge positions by merit rather than party dogma, you listen to all of them and try to sort through the lies.

MSNBC is in the tank for the Dems, they have said so. Look at what they report on and how biased all their coverage is.

About time Fox had some competition from the left.
Senator Tweety, hmmm, has a nice ring to it.

Matthews, a Philadelphia native, (from a suburb of Philadelphia called Oreland, PA) is a Roman Catholic of Irish descent who attended La Salle College High School. He is a 1967 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and did graduate work in economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Matthews served in the Peace Corps in Swaziland from 1968 to 1970 as a trade development advisor. He opposed the Vietnam War. In 2002 he was hospitalized with malaria, which he evidently contracted on one of his visits that year to Africa.

Matthews is a loud mouth with a big ego that needs to have some air let out. A senate run in PA should do the trick then he can stand on some street corner and tell everyone how ''right'' he is about everything.
