Comments on: Clinton Pick Would Be Big Gamble For Obama
Politico: Appointment Would Show President-Elect's Icy Tolerance For Risk And Belief In The Power Of The Grand Gesture
- Hillary Clinton is divisive and portrayed herself as desparate and obsessed with power.

This is only your (erroneous) interpretation of how she behaved. After Obama won the primary, she gave a very gracious and classy speech throwing her support to Obama. She was in no way "desparate".
She then campaigned for Obama (and other Democratic candidates) tirelessly and enthusiastically. She took her primary defeat in stride and quickly moved on. She was quite happy to return to the Senate and said her philosophy was "bloom where you''re planted". Hardly "obsessed with power" as you claim.
Again and again shed urged her supporters to support Obama as she was (I know since I was on her email list). Hardly "divisive", she was successful in uniting the party behind Obama. - Reply to this comment
- This is not the change I depended on. I want my vote back.

- During the primaries, Hillary Clinton is divisive and portrayed herself as desparate and obsessed with power. That is one of the reasons I voted for Obama, for change. Obama should appoint Bill Richardson, the governor of New Mexico, to be the secretary of state. At least, he has served as a US ambassador to the UN in the past.

- WHAT? You''''''''re trying to say that the infamous imbicle Bush WASN''''''''T the worst embarrassment this country ever had with his moronic "Bushisms" before he began to commit impeachable offences daily?
And I''''''''m talking about REAL impeachable, treasonous offences...not frivolous ones trumped up by a completely partisan Republican-appointed Starr Comission whose only mandate was "to get something on the Clintons." The best they were able to come up with at a cost of $58 million was his getting a BJ from a homely intern.
The Bush/Cheney gang went into office with the sole purpose of looting the country and that''''''''s about the only thing they accomplished, besides trashing the Constitution (that ******* piece of paper) and sacrificing thousands of American lives and hundreds of thousand Iraqi lives over a cynical oil deal based on lies that they blew anyway.
It seems that Russia and China are going to reap the lion''''''''s share of financial gain from the Deserter-in-Chief''''''''s playing "war president" and "decider."
You have a realy strange idea of what is embarrassing, not to mention what is treasonous criminal behavior.

- Safe bet Hillary will try her hardest to give the Obama administration a successful foreign policy. Her rep would rise or fall with Obama''s.

- I don''t see the "gamble" for Obama. Hillary as Secretary of State is an obvious choice. She has wonderful skills, a brilliant mind, tremendous energy, and a willingness to follow commands. After all, 18 million people voted for her in the primaries and exit polls from the final election showed that she probably would have won more votes than Obama did (as reported on this site after the election).

- WASHINGTON -- President-elect Barack Obama is on track to nominate Hillary Rodham Clinton as secretary of state after Thanksgiving, an aide to his transition said Thursday.
One week after the former primary rivals met secretly to discuss the idea of Clinton becoming the nation''s top diplomat, the two sides were moving quickly toward making it a reality, barring any unforeseen problems. - Reply to this comment
- Hillary was the only one who had a chance at beating Obama in the election... and for good reason. She is bright, tough, and composed. She would be a great pick as Obama''s SoS. Together, they can salvage the mess left by GWB.

- Hillary is an awesomely intelligent woman and has the skills to do a great job. Anyone who says negative things on Hillary has never listened to her or read her book. What an awesome speaker. No wonder the repugs hate her!

- I hope Obama''s team members are reading these comments. They can see that many people are not in favor of Hillary being Secretary of State. There would be too much drama and Bill would have to stick his 2 cents worth in and the fight would be on. .Our country can''t afford this right now. I think John Kerry would be a good Secretary of State. How many languages does he speak??? I have read that it is several. I agree that Richardson had classified records taken while he was Energy Chief, they are probably in the hands of the Chinese as we write these comments.
I think Obama needs to realize that China is building up a big Army, Kerry would be the man to handle this. Hillary would consult Bill before she would consult Obama. Where is the NO DRAMA OBAMA??? Obama needs to stop thinking like Lincoln, he wasn''t all that great, he was just a man with some fairly good ideas but it cost him his life. Times have changed, our country is losing it''s life, we are going to step into a finincial depression very very soon. We old folks can''t take this anymore. We worked hard, made little money for what jobs we did and now we have to worry about not being able to pay our taxes and lose our homes. Some of us sold our homes and are renting because of ill health, then the owners are selling or have lost our place we have rented and we have to move, in the dead of winter, no less. When you old and very ill, it''s really tough. Good Night everyone and have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. - Reply to this comment
- Clinton pick would be more than just a gamble. It would represent the first major flaw in a near perfect Presidential campaign!
