- I%u2019m self-employed. I will make over 250K this year.
I put everything I make back into my company.
I spend 99% of my time chasing the dollar.
I like being independent and self-employed even though it hard work.
If Obama wins I%u2019ll have to close down and go to work for a Big Company, where I would work 40 Hours and not have all the paperwork.

2. Community Organizers get loans for people that can%u2019t pay them back
3. Community Organizers exploit disinterested people for their on objective
4. Community Organizers like democrats keep people on welfare programs to secure their base
drcool4u,
I don''t know where to begin, other than half of this stuff is just plain incorrect, some of it doesn''t even apply to Obama, and most of it has been totally discreditied by every major respected news organization. But don''t let that get in your way. I''m sure it''s possible find a source for ANYTHING- such thing as denying that global warming exists, intelligent design as a valid scientific theory, the rapture. You must understand that voters have heard this stuff, have looked into it and have verified that it is a crock. ISSUES, my friend, ISSUES.
If you are interested in guilt by association, how do feel about Palin''s husband actually being a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, whose leader was about as UNAMERICAN as a person can be. You don''t have to answer. Just think about how much MORE important the real issues are. - Reply to this comment
- Conservative antagonist?!?!
All you have to do to antagonize a conservative is point out ALL of the failures of the last three republican presidential administrations.
Especially that traitor Reagan.

- You failed to apply your honest and well put essay to yourself - you MUST accept that you are 80% of the problem in any disagreement.
I know 50% sounds logical but in social altercations any cop will tell you BOTH parties are *** near fully at fault.
ribbie, you have got to apply whatever blame to yourself too if you want to be really happy and learn forgiveness for those who messed you over.
This is a tough lesson to struggle with.
If you are leaving for now take it easy ribbie. You got a good heart.

A VERY good question. All you can do is go to sources that you can trust that are not biased or have agendas (not an easy job). FactCheck.org is one of the more scrupulous sources for accuracy in reporting. I am frequently pissed off because they have broken one of my little bubbles. Any news interview format that asks follow-up questions is useful, (unless the questions are loaded to an extreme)because the guests have to respond or appear ignorant. Sometimes if they are really honest, they will say "I don''t know." The real question is, "are they curious or motivated enough to try to find out."
drcool4u,
Don''t put yourself down by continuously recycling stuff. I''m sure you have good things to say. Take time and say them. Let''s face it, we are not going to convert anyone here. So if you have something to say that you feel is true, say it- in your own words.
Now all I have to do is follow my own advice. - Reply to this comment

He''''s more interested in playing nice than winning.
Sad.

- The video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-91W5LS0E8
"On April 20, 1983, President Reagan signed the Social Security Amendments Act into law. This Act was designed to save Social Security by gradually increasing the retirement age to 67 and by increasing payroll taxes to build up a real trust fund, so that the system would remain solvent when the baby boom generation retired. Since then, the trust fund has accumulated a surplus of over 2 trillion dollars, every penny of which came from FICA taxes on the wages and self-employment earnings of workers. Unfortunately, as President Bush has pointed out, the money has been spent on other things and replaced with a file cabinet full of IOUs. This borrowing has masked the true size of the federal budget deficit. Over the next 11 years, congress is expected to borrow and spend over 2 trillion dollars more in surplus from the trust fund, as the baby boom generation enters its peak earning years in preparation for its retirement. - This video shows part 1 of the 4/20/83 signing ceremony.

- "Reagan had a problem. His tax cuts for the wealthy - even when moderated by subsequent tax increases - weren''t generating enough money to invest properly in America''s infrastructure, schools, police and fire departments, and military. The country was facing bankruptcy.
No problem, suggested Greenspan. Just borrow the Boomer''s savings account - the money in the Social Security Trust Fund - and, because you''re borrowing "government money" to fund "government expenditures," you don''t have to list it as part of the deficit. Much of the deficit will magically seem to disappear, and nobody will know what you did for another 30 years when the Boomers begin to retire 2015.
Reagan jumped at the opportunity. As did George H. W. Bush. As did Bill Clinton (although Al Gore argued strongly that Social Security funds should not be raided, but, instead, put in a "lock box"). And so did George W. Bush.
The result is that all that money - trillions of dollars - that has been taxed out of working Boomers (the ceiling has risen from the tax being on your first $30,000 of income to the first $90,000 today) has been borrowed and spent. What are left behind are a special form of IOUs - an unique form of Treasury debt instruments similar (but not identical) to those the government issues to borrow money from China today to fund George W. Bush''s most recent tax cuts for billionaires (George Junior is still also "borrowing" from the Social Security Trust Fund). " - Reply to this comment

I want to know what YOU think...NOT what some hack who earns a living by stirring up hatred and discontent thinks. You have been given one of the greatest gifts from God, the ability to think critically. Don''t just cut and paste stuff you have gotten from somewhere else. Try to respond rationally to each thing you have read. There are no prizes for the most posts here.
I have been hard on you and I apologize somewhat. But you have to understand, the things that threaten this country have to do with ISSUES, not personalities or guilt-by-association BS. Talk about the economy, the War, Healthcare, Social Security, Education, Domestic Security (does no one care that our ports are still vulnerable?). I make of fun of those who call names, repeat discredited lies, and just plain make up stuff. All you people are better than this (I hope) and because this is an unmoderated blog, we have gone WAY beyond the bounds of civility or honesty. drcool4u, what do YOU think? Do you even know? (I am not tying to be nasty here). Stay involved and keep caring- it is important, especially in a democracy.
You all have the ability to make up your own minds- please do so based on the FACTS. - Reply to this comment

Did investors not invest in the 1940s and 1950s?
There were many innovations then and the rich paid a much higher portion in taxes, especially during wartime. It''''s fiscally IRresponsible to cut taxes to those who can more than afford it during a time of war. Has never happened before!

drcool4u,
I am going to say something now from the heart- no zingers, no corrections, just genuine well-meaning advice. Don''t collect data points. Read books. Read magazines. Read newspapers. Are you aware that Democrats ALSO believe the media is doing a lousy job? That should give you a hint that instead of bias, it indicates incompetence. The media doesn''t ask follow-up questions, they let lies or distortions go unchallenged. They are more concerned with creating a story than GETTING the story. Listen, watch and read sources you don''t necessarily agree with.

In the end, I think most liberals and (okay I''ll say it) most conservatives do care to make this country better. I agree with both sides in many way. I also know no president can do anything alone. What I like about Obama is he inspires so many people. That I haven''t seen in a long time. Usually people are voting against somebody, not for somebody. Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. - Reply to this comment
