Politico: As McCain Gains Female Support After Palin Pick, 'What If' Question Hangs Over Obama Camp
- ---"Precisely what positions on the issues do McCain and Palin hold that make them so attractive to you as a voter? Seriously, I''d like to hear what a ''Sem for Palin'' has to say on that."---

I think the quality of discourse can be compromised when there are two trail-blazers as candidates in the race - I was upfront about liking Palin because of her grit, and in wanting to see her succeed. And prior to that I''ve been upfront about pointing out that people tend to vote for people who are most like them in terms of race, age, and gender.
For example, blacks are voting 96% for Obama. Those making under $24k are voting 2:1 for Obama. There isn''t anything in your comment to show that you''re not one of those two groups such that you are voting on the ''issues'' any more than me.
THAT''s the case that has to be made - because you might happen to stand to cash in more with Dems in power doesn''t make you any more ''pure'' a voter on the issues than me. - Reply to this comment
- I am glad to see that our military does not support the Bush administration. But it''s sad that most of you are not listening to them. They are the ones who are actually putting their lives on the line for a country who seems not to care. Oh yeah, you all say oh I support and respect our troops. But that sounds like the administration that''s in there now. They say they care about our troops, but the support doesn''t go beyond that. My son is leaving for Iraq this month. If you truly support our troops, take action at polls, listen to them. THose of you are sitting safely in America, not in danger of losing your lives in a war seem to have the most aggressive opinions. I would pay more attention to those who are actually fighting for their country in a war that is not being run by anyone of competence or compassion for them.

- newidea2 - So, Obama should admit to the American public that after just 2 weeks, one of the most important decisions he''s ever made (choosing a running mate) was WRONG, but he''d make a good President anyway?

- As a professional woman, I would never, ever, vote for a women like Palin that would just be like voting for enslaving young women everywhere. For a women like Palin to dictate that a young woman (an innocent girl in her early teens) to have no choice over her own body... but to bear a child that was was forced on her by either incest or rape is just anti-human,,,,Where is the human dignity or compassion???
No, we have already suffered enough as country with Bush and look at the mess we are in......NO WAY for MCCain or Palin....WAKE-UP AMERICA OR AGAIN GET WHAT WE HAVE NOW RICH GETTING RICHER (Walmart family, Gates, Oil tycoons,) NO MIDDLE CLASS, ONLY THE POOR AND POORER....(like a young mother 13 or 14 with a child borne out of rape or incest) - Reply to this comment
- Don''t forget to count our billions of foreign citizens, that''s our ticket to a democratic nomination in this election. Also a lot of young people are registering to vote. They are definitely not voting for McCain. Young people want something new, not old. Our military is counting on us to make changes in our government. They do not want the same administration in charge of their lives. You people need to stop looking at personal interests and start thinking about the real issues here. Oh yeah, there is going to be change and it won''t be McCain and Palin. The problem is we have a lot of citizens who are voting on personal levels (*** and race). But I believe that those voting on the true issues are going to beat them by a landslide. Go Obama!!!!!

- I know this is going to be a bit difficult for Republicans that think the military supports GW, Mcsame and the Flame but if you dare...watch this clip "Why retired Generals and Admirals support Barack Obama". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdN8XpL36Pk&feature=related

- You know what I think? For some of you who seem to think that it doesn''t matter what other countries think about this election. You must remember America is made up of more than Blacks and Whites. A lot of our citizens are from countries that we are at odds with, whether they were born here or given citizenship. Believe me a lot of them are voting for who their countries want. So don''t think for a minute that it''s a sure thing for the Republicans. A lot of people are sitting back and quietly waiting to cast their ballots. Most countries do not want to see another Bush in the white house. So if you think it''s not important. We will see on election day.

- ubrew12..excellent remarks. However, but, Republicans act just as irresponsibly as the people they elect into office. Meaning a quick survey of the Republicans in my area (which is the majority)shows many are in foreclosure, have had their car repoed, have credit card bills beyond their means, lack adequate health insurance believe that by going to church every Sunday God will take care of everything...he has the master plan. This is how the GOP has used these people and continues to do so. Do you honestly believe that someone (The PlainFlame Sarah Palin) that speaks in tongues at church is sane? Most people I know wouldn''t but unfortunately there alot of people in them red states that think speaking in tongues, doing dances with snakes and other such nonsense is perfectly normal behavior.

- THE TIME IS NOW!! Joe Biden leaves the race, Hillary is nominated, and the democrats win by a landslide. Karl Rove and Co. have no way to attack her at this point, and Sarah Palin pales in comparison.
