Politico: Republican Has Taken Important Step Toward Shoring Up Support Among Christian Conservatives

The political field is tilted against any third party making it on the ballot. It is like the republican and democrats have a monopoly over politics - Reply to this comment
- We need a smarter government.
Face it Cons.
Bush and McBush policies have:
strengthened Iran and Hamas.
Weakened our military.
exploded our deficit.
and, allowed Al-Qaeda to rebuild.
These aren%u2019t opinions. These are facts.
Although it''s good to see McCorpse is still vertical.
Republicans are the bottom dwellers on intelligence so .....I guess I''m voting for the "other guys".
Democrats win in 08...there is no debate... - Reply to this comment
- Republican Tax cuts results
Reagan Tax Cut
National debt before Reagan tax Cut $900 Billion
National debt after Reagan Tax Cut $4.5 trillion
Bush tax cuts
National debt before Bush tax cuts $5 trillion
National debt after Bush tax cuts $10 trillion
Mccain/bush tax cuts will add $3 trillion to the national debt according to one Mccain economic adviser. Mccain says he does not know much about economics. You can see why - Reply to this comment
- So, it seems clear that when Barack Obama feels strongly about something it is because he views it as touching something of the divine. So, if you hold a different political position on one of those matters you are at best a fool and at worst evil. Either way you are standing against the will of God, which happens to coincide with the political principles of Barack Obama. Aren''t we lucky? Now, this I just found interesting:
GG: Who''s Jesus to you?
(He laughs nervously)
OBAMA: Right. Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he''s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher.
And he''s also a wonderful teacher. I think it''s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.
So what have we got here? Obama thinks Jesus is A) an historical figure, B) a bridge between God and man, and C) a wonderful teacher. The truth is there is nothing particularly Christian about those views. Muslims, for example, hold much the same view of Jesus. It is Christians who believe Jesus is the son of God, the redeemer of our sins, the maker of a new covenant.in short the Messiah. All of the specifically Christian views of Jesus seem to have escaped Obama''s notice, or they have been rejected.
Which is it? I don''t know, but it sure seems like Barry Obama is one weird guy. - Reply to this comment
- zerato, you will get no arguement from me on all those points. I am certainly not enthralled with McCain, but unfortunately he is the nominee. The time is not right for a third party candidate, and I am not sure if it will ever be. We need to change the party from within, and restore the conservative principals that once at its core. Throwing a vote away to a third party ensures an Obama victory, and the likes of BLKRACIST and getbent would have a feild day destroying our freedoms in the name of socialism.
We can''''t afford another Perot moment which led to 8 years of the Clintonistas.

Bob Barr is a conservative and worthy of support. If people don''t start to change their thinking, we will always have choices handed to us like this. If Barr polls 10% nationally, it will be noticed, trust that to occur. - Reply to this comment

- That''s funny, the GOP said the word "liberal" as a bad word, so many times.....
They weren''t talking about Democrats...they are trying to disenfranchise a whole party....it worked for a while...
....but now once a Democrat..I am now a liberal....and proud of it........
It''s a new era for liberals...........and I''ll kick your a-ss as well as talk philosophy.........
You wanna get some Republicans?....lets go.........other wise go sit in the corner with your talking point spewing fallacy of a constituency.....
Please....
In most areas of the nation, outside the south, the Republican Party could hold a convention in a Phone Booth. - Reply to this comment

- Not Bitter about not having Health Care, or seeing your Jobs shipped overseas, or having your Homes Foreclosed on?
Sounds to me the only folks who wouldn''t be bitter would have to be elitists themselves.
Just for comparison:
John McCain: Net worth $44 million, owns 8 houses
Barack Obama: Best year $1.6 million in 2005, doesn''t even make the list of 50 richest in Congress, graduated from Harvard Law and took a job Organizing Unemployed Steel Workers for about $8,000/yr.
So who exactly is the bigger "Elitist" ?
Phil Gramm and John McCain do not pump their own gas or buy groceries; they don''t even pay their own bills.
These guys have been rich forever, they simply cannot relate to 95% the American voters. - Reply to this comment
- I just can''t believe one of you DemoTard Lemmings won''t answer the question I have so curious about:
Describe the embossing on Sen. NObama''s official kneepads he gives out to y''all?? - Reply to this comment
- It is interesting that a religious leader might be the only one able to get both candidates to speak more truthfully. There really is no gray area between the two. I think both do love their country with one very big difference. I think McCain loves the present country with all its warts, whereas Barack loves the image of the country he thinks America could be with his help. I believe Barack stayed in that church because he agreed that the evil leveled at blacks by whites needs much more restitution. So it isn''t enough to just move on and know what was done was just plain wrong. This generation of whites must be held accountable for previous generations because the playing field is still not equal according to Barack. It isn''t unity he is after, but changing the system so completely to give the black race the unfair advantage that whites have so long benefited from. The man that is half white and half black is bitter towards the half white side because of the prejudice he thinks he saw and felt while growing up in a white family. I would imagine he got an interesting perspective. The problem is enough will never be enough and holding each generation responsible for those before us is just plain unfair. I never even knew my grandparents and so how can I even know if I would have liked or respected them. They can''t speak for me and I can''t speak for them. Looking back and trying to right a wrong is a pay grade higher than Barack.

- I don''t care about the conservatives anymore.
Why? Because they are cowards......how many of them stood up against the invasion of Iraq?
One.....two.....? Talk about mis-guided spending%u2026...I don''t mean votes either.......
I mean stand UP and BE the dissent........in the media....in Congress......in public of YOUR Party.......cowards.....
oh.....I''m sorry.......thanks Ron Paul.
Republicans are much easier to shoot down these days.......
They can%u2019t talk about their own party anymore...it''s too much of an embarrassment.....their constituency has lost all credibility........
Good riddance..... - Reply to this comment

- I can''t believe Sen. NObama hasn''t yet scored a similar "bump", given the fact SanFranNan Peelosely openly declared this 50%-Amerifrican empty suite to be god like.

- Why conservatives hate mccain.
Mccain has called the same evangelicals he is courting today "agents of intolerance"
Mccain sponsored a bill that gave illegals amnesty.
Mccain sponsored the campaign finance law that limited amount of donations to a single candiate.
Mccain supports stem cell research
Mccain did not support the Bush tax cuts for the rich, until saw it politically expedient to support them.

Of course I never doubted I was better than you low life hyphenated-Americans, but your above proves it, seeing as how I once came face to face with one of your suckbuddies (Former House Speaker Jim Wright) and when he stuck out his hand to shake I simply veered away and kept walking without saying a word. - Reply to this comment
Could Obama be the next Jimmy Carter?
President Carter in the 80%u2019s had installed an array of solar electric panels on the White House grounds.
I often wonder what the world would be like had America followed President Carters renewable energy example back in the 80%u2019s.
Less dependance on oil sounds GOOD to me.- Reply to this comment
- "F**k you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room." Mccain to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), during a testy exchange about immigration legislation
"No, I''m calling you a f*cking jerk." Mccain to fellow Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, when Grassley asked "Are you calling me stupid?"
"Only an a**hole would put together a budget like this ... I wouldn''t call you an a**hole unless you really were an a**hole." Mccain to Budget Committee Chairman and fellow Repulican Sen. Pete Domenici, during a Senate budget hearing
"At least I don''t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt." Mccain to his wife, Cindy, after she playfully twirled his hair and said "You''re getting a little thin up there," as reported in the book The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter
Mccain treats his friends like this. It is no wonder he addresses everyone "my friend". I wonder how many wars he can start with his "diplomacy" - Reply to this comment
