- Well Hell 3...
so was Mr Mcain sincere when he said
that Pat Robertson and jerry Falwell are evil and agents of intolerance and that there are evangelical leaders who have "turned good causes into businesses"...hmmmmmmm
OR....was he sincere when he said "Neither party should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance."
OR....instead...was he sincere last Saturday night.
Whaddya think? - Reply to this comment
- they''''re claiming mccain did an outstanding job? are you kidding me? his answers were shallow, he missed all of the thought-enducing substance, the guy has no abstract ability. this is a joke. his responses and his reactions remind me of another one-dimensional unintelligent wasp. Guesses anyone?????

Neither Intelligence, honesty, integrity or depth are values that the right wingers care about. Those are not characteristics they look for in their candidate. - John McCAIN LIED AND PLAGIARIZED THE CROSS IN THE SAND STORY--- In HOUSE OF WORSHIP
In 1973, a russian author, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, wrote about his time in in the book "The Gulag Archipelago" and relayed exactly the same CROSS IN SAND STORY THAT MCCAIN TOLD ON SATURDAY NIGHT.
From the book:"As he waited, head down, he felt a presence. Slowly he looked up and saw a skinny old prisoner squat down beside him.
The man said nothing. Instead, he used a stick to trace in the dirt the sign of the Cross.
The man then got back up and returned to his work. As Solzhenitsyn stared at the Cross drawn in the dirt his entire perspective changed. He knew he was only one man against the all-powerful Soviet empire. Yet he knew there was something greater than the evil he saw in the prison camp, something greater than the Soviet Union. He knew that hope for all people was represented by that simple Cross.Through the power of the Cross, anything was possible.
And there is a nice long excerpt from John McCain''s book "Hard Call: The Art of Great Decisions " released in 2005, reprinted in the NY Sun, ABOUT WHAT A BIG FAN HE IS of Alexander Solzhenitsyn
In 1973 McCain wrote a very detailed 12,000 word account of his time in Vietnam that was published in US News and world reports and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, NO MENTION OF THE CROSS IN SAND... Hmm%u2026. Guess McCain didn%u2019t think of it until after he read it in Solzhenitsyns book. - Reply to this comment
The list of Toe Tapping Republicans continues
WOW getbent, did you do all that exhaustive research all by your lonesome? That is only a partial list that has been compiled by the dailykooks and others.
See what you have to do to support your guy, you have to find every little punk politician with an R by his name that has engaged in sick behavior. I am sure if someone thought it would be worthwhile one could compile a list just as long with a D by the name.
Usually when this happens to a Republican, the people throw them out of office and are the most vocal about what scum they are. When a Dem does it they remain in office and are protected by their own.....Gary Studds ring a bell? It is a resume'' enhancement
What no Republican dogcatchers on the list? Better go back and do some more homework- Reply to this comment

Obscamma had the questions too. Too bad isn''t it that he looked like he was going to PUKE every time he talked about a scripture or faith.

- Between 1980 and 1990, my salary increased well over 500%, thanks to Ronald Reagan getting the federal government out of the way.
Posted by JonGood53,
Not Bad. Mine increased by 1000 % when Clinton was in office. Does that make the democrats any better than the republicans?
I would say not, it was by my efforts and the federal government had very little to do with it.
So how can you claim that having a GOP dominated government provided a pay raise like you are claiming?
What type of work do you do? - Reply to this comment
The list of Toe Tapping Republicans continues:

Republican congressional aide Jeffrey Nielsen was arrested for having *** with a 14-year old boy.

Republican prosecutor Larry Corrigan was arrested for soliciting *** from 13-year old girls.
Republican Mayor Jeffrey Kyle Randall was sentenced to 275 days in jail for molesting two boys -- ages ten and 12 -- during a six-year period.
Republican County Board Candidate Brent Schepp was charged with molesting a 14-year old girl and killed himself three days later.
Republican Congressman Mark Foley abruptly resigned from Congress after "sexually explicit" emails surfaced showing him flirting with a 16-year old boy.
Yall remember Foley right?- Reply to this comment
- Republicans are far from having a monopoly on morality!!
Is this about morals, or votes?
Republicans have been very ANTI-homosexual as leaders of this country, but looking at their records, one can see a stunning amount of hypocrisy.
The big question for me is the "group think" effects of oppression, but not of the oppressed, but of the oppressors.
Did they, as a social community "the rubber stamp GOP", talk themselves into suppressing their own natural inclinations about sexuality?
Was it religion, politics, or exploitation of a mix of the two?
The list of Toe Tapping Republicans begins:
Republican presidential campaign official Matthew Joseph Elliott was convicted of sexual exploitation of a child.
Republican Party Chairman Donald Fleischman was charged with two counts of child enticement, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and a single charge of exposing himself to a child.
Republican prosecutor John David Roy Atchison was arrested for soliciting *** from a 5-year old girl, then killed himself three weeks later. At the time of his arrest, Atchison was an "assistant U.S. attorney" appointed by President Bush''s attorney general.
Republican city councilman John Bryan killed himself after police began investigating allegations that he had molested three girls, including two of his adopted daughters, ages 12 and 15.
Republican legislator Ted Klaudt was charged with raping girls under the age of 16. - Reply to this comment
- It is perfectly true that an Iraq withdrawal will require something very painful: admitting a colossal strategic mistake. This is the #1 unbearable disgrace for Republicans and all other core backers of the war and occupation. The #2 disgrace would be payment of reparations to Iraq through a UN or World Bank trust. #3 would be the outrage of the post-occupation Iraqi government resolving the oil issue on its own terms, possibly contracting French, Russian, and Chinese firms, while leaving US or UK firms on the sidelines.
Self-denial, vanity, fear to face the music, and greed are at play. It has nothing to do with US security. The fiasco has made us less secure, drained lives and money, and now we are the laughingstock of much of the world.
Don''t believe in polls? Well, how about the value of the US dollar on world exchanges?
Let Iraqis rule Iraq, whether by federation, partition, or unitary state. Any model we impose will crumble the day we leave, whether that occurs now or in 100 years. Iraq will not be pro-US, pro-Israel, or pro-anything we favor so long as we occupy them, or as long as we contrived to have privileged access to their oil.
Medieval Europeans wasted 250 years on their venture. Better to learn from them, plus from Britain''s troubles in Iraq in the 1920s onward, rather than repeat a futile imperial exercise.
The trillion plus we waste in Iraq could have done so much more for our security or economy if spent on just about anything else. - Reply to this comment
- So what have we got here? Obama thinks Jesus is A) an historical figure, B) a bridge between God and man, and C) a wonderful teacher. The truth is there is nothing particularly Christian about those views. Muslims, for example, hold much the same view of Jesus. It is Christians who believe Jesus is the son of God, the redeemer of our sins, the maker of a new covenant%u2026in short the Messiah. All of the specifically Christian views of Jesus seem to have escaped Obama''s notice, or they have been rejected.

- OBAMA: IT%u2019s interesting, the most powerful political moments for me come when I feel like my actions are aligned with a certain truth. I can feel it. When I%u2019m talking to a group and I%u2019m saying something truthful, I can feel a power that comes out of those statements that is different than when I%u2019m just being glib or clever.
GG: What%u2019s that power? Is it the holy spirit? God?
OBAMA: Well, I think it%u2019s the power of the recognition of God, or the recognition of a larger truth that is being shared between me and an audience.
So, it seems clear that when Barack Obama feels strongly about something it is because he views it as touching something of the divine. So, if you hold a different political position on one of those matters you are at best a fool and at worst evil. Either way you are standing against the will of God, which happens to coincide with the political principles of Barack Obama. Aren''t we lucky?
Now, this I just found interesting:
GG: Who%u2019s Jesus to you?
(He laughs nervously)
OBAMA: Right. Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he%u2019s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher.
And he%u2019s also a wonderful teacher. I think it%u2019s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history. - Reply to this comment

No its not, I am not talking about his Saddle interview. ANd I didnt say Saddle. Open your eyes, ill post it again since you tried to discredit me.
At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004, when I was the religion reporter (I am now its religion columnist) at the Chicago Sun-Times, I met then-State Sen. Barack Obama at Cafi Baci, a small coffee joint at 330 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago, to interview him exclusively about his spirituality. Our conversation took place a few days after he''d clinched the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat that he eventually won. We spoke for more than an hour. He came alone. He answered everything I asked without notes or hesitation. The profile of Obama that grew from the interview at Cafe Baci became the first in a series in the Sun-Times called "The God Factor," that eventually became my first book, The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People (FSG, March 2006.) Because of the staggering interest in now U.S. Sen. Obama''s faith and spiritual predilections, I thought it might be helpful to share that interivew, uncut and in its entirety, here. - Reply to this comment

Hey Zero, you''re such a fan of figures, here are some figures I actually experienced:
Was raising a family during the libtard Jimah Carter''s reign and almost wound up on the street, given his "wage and price controls", "wind fall profits taxes" high interest rates, and staggering inflation, unbelievable income tax schedules, and fuel prices through the roof (come to think of it, very similar to the way things have been since the DemoC+R A P S regained control of Congress in 2007.)
