Politico: Verbal Blunders Bring New Attention To Sensitive Issue Of His Age
- Gee, I didn''t know we had troops in Afghanistan to
protect the opium poppy trade. I thought we were
there to fight terrorists and Osama bin Laden.
Actually, these poppy fields have been flourishing
and funding the Taliban and other terrorists the
entire time our troops have been there. Sen. Obama
is the only one I''ve heard address this issue when he
said that we need to be doing something to eliminate
these opium poppy fields!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Reply to this comment
- Why is it, our military has had Bin Laden in their sites several times and have been told to "back off" by Washington? CLINTON HAD HIM. BUSH HAD HIM. THIS GUY IS LIKE TRYING TO CATCH MERCURY. WE''LL GET HIM.
REST ASSURED THAT PEOPLE ARE WORKING ON THAT AS YOU ARE READING THIS.
Why are we still in Iraq? To win? What will we "win"?
HOPEFULLY, A DEMOCRATIC PRESENCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Why are we still in Afganistan? Bin Laden is in Paistan, why don''''t we attack Pakistan if we are supposed to get "all" the trrorists?
pAKISTAN IS AN ALLY.
Because we have a "war game" president--a president and "vice" president who didn''''t have the Balls to do their patriotic duty but have no problem sending our families off to a war created by Bush for oil!
WE HAVEN''T GOTTEN A DROP OF THEIR OIL
You want to talk terrorist---look right here in America---are our boarders safer now? Why not?
NO THEY ARE NOT. THE MASSIVE NUMBERS SNEAKING INTO THIS COUNTRY UNFORTUNATELY REPRESENT A POTENTIAL VOTING BLOCK FOR BOTH PARTIES.

- Saddam had NOTHING to do with 911--
I''M NOT AN ARAB, BUT THERE IS AN OLD ARAB SAYING, "THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY, IS MY FRIEND". tHEY ALL HATE EACH OTHER, BUT THEY ARE UNIFIED IN THEIR HATRED OF THE WEST. THE PROBLEM ISN''T IRAQ, IT''S THE MIDDLE EAST. but good ole Bush decided to "get the (non existant) weapons"
WELL, SADDAM HAD ALREADY USED WMD''S, AND NO WE DIDN''T FIND ANY. AS SADDAM WAS FOUND IN A RATHOLE, DON''T BE SURPRISED IF THEY DISCOVER SOME OTHER RATHOLES IN NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES then "liberate" Iraq instead of going after Bin Laden--why is that?
AFTER REGIME CHANGE, RECONSTRUCTION BEGAN. IT HASN''T GONE SMOOTHLY AS WE ALL KNOW, BUT THEY CERTAINLY HAVE IT BETTER THAN IT WAS UNDER HUSSEIN. WOMAN HAVE RIGHTS, PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE, THEY''RE IN CHARGE OF THEIR OWN OIL, KIDS CAN EVEN FLY KITES, THEY HAVE A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT. YES, IT IS A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY THAT IS BEING PULLED UP BY ITS'' BOOTSTRAPS BUT IT WILL GET BETTER. - Reply to this comment
- After 911-why did we send more troops to Iraq than Afganistan? BECAUSE AFGHANISTAN HAS HISTORICALLY BEEN A DEATHTRAP. iT IS THE ARMPIT OF THE WORLD WITH MOUNTAINS, CAVES, AND EXTREME WEATHER.
IRAQ HAD DEFIED NUMEROUS UN SANCTIONS AND SADDAM WAS A DIRTBAG, REMEMBER THE RAPE ROOMS, HEADS ON STICKS, MASS GRAVES? WE COULDN''T INVADE ANOTHER COUNTRY WITHOUT RISKING EVEN MORE FALLOUT THAN WHAT WE ARE CURRENTLY GETTING FROM BEING IN IRAQ.
We were supposed to go after those responsible for 911 (Bin Laden) remember him?
SURE WE REMEMBER HIM, AND WE WILL GET HIM IF HE ISN''T DEAD ALREADY. BUT WE''RE DOING A PRETTY GOOD JOB OF GETTING EVERYBODY ELSE, NO? - Reply to this comment
- mcbush has said for years that the media are his constitiuency. One has to wonder how many more of his senior moments have wound up on the cutting room floor to protect him.

BARRACK HUSSEIN OSAMA wants to take credits for the success of the surge. The problem is, he"s promised to bring our troops home and now is flip-flopping, instead he wants to deploy them to die in Afghanistan protecting their poppy fields and heroin factories. I didnt know BARRACK OSAMA loved drugs that much.
I agree with BARRACK HUSSEIN OSAMA, we must get our troops out of Iraq, cause we will have to attack Iran in the next few months, perhaps with nukes, but first we must get our troops out of the range of those obsolete Iranian missiles. - Reply to this comment
- McCain totally blows a question in an interview with Katie Couric and CBS edits out his bad answer with another one from another question and we''re not supposed to be critical of this senile candidate?
The media is more than willing to cover up McCain''s gaffe''s for months when the rest of the world knew he was making them.... until they became so numerous and obvious they cannot be ingored for something more serious about this man.
It''s time the media stop protecting the GOP!!! It''s time we see the truth in our GOP candidates, instead of more glossovers. - Reply to this comment

Unfortunately, that''s where the terrorists who attacked us are. The terrorist and the Taliban offer more resistance than Iraq did, but they are the enemy. Iraq was a diversion. Saddam was a bad man, but Osama bin Laden masterminded 9/11. Neither W or mcbush have much to say about bin Laden any more. Maybe they''re saving him for an October surprise. - Reply to this comment

- I am out of here . ...in the mean time , agree or disagree with the initial reason to go to Iraq , ask yourselves what would it be like if Bush did not have the GuT to go with the Surge ...What would it be like if Obama was pres. one year ago ...Do you rather see that ,hah ??? Libs .are so bitter they lost the last 2 elections that they blame Bush all the time and do not see a thing that the man did that is Good ..I give up on them ...Just wait until NOv. ..Obama with his flip-flops and his refusing to see the facts will not win in NOv. ... I am glad that Bush won the second term really , if not , it will be Vietnam Part2 by now ......thanks God that did not happen ...See it or not , it HAPPENED, just like Mc Cain said , it is what it is ......THE SURGE WORK ! and the young guy almost blew it ...ha ha ha...so much for youth ...I guess people AGE for a reason , if not , they will be making the same mistake as when they were young......

Your statement about the wisdom that comes with age may be generally true, but if mcbush had the wisdom to consider the situation before he cosponsored the Iraq resolution, there might have been no Iraq war, and no surge needed. He got on the bush team banging the drums for war when there was no good reason for it and there were lots of good reasons not to attack Iraq. If he had the wisdom that should have come with his age, he would have insisted that we remain focused on the battle against our attackers. We might have gotten bin Laden, the mastermind behind the attacks instead of Saddam, who was just a bad guy in the same general part of the world.
Wisdom can come with age, but it can fly over the heads of some. When that happens, maybe you have a serious senior moment or maybe you even just have to lie like mcbush did with about then-Col. McFarland. Either way the wisdom that might have come with age didn''t stick, he''s still just as sharp as when he finished 5th from the bottom of his class. - Reply to this comment
