"It is true that now Obama claims to be a Christian. But is is also true that one-half of his family, which is all of his natural father''''s family, is Moslem and lives in Africa today. Literally half of Obama''''s family is African and Moslem. These are not relatives from a 300 year old slave ancester. These are his brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. His step-father is a Moslem and lives in Indonesia. While a child, Obama lived in Indonesia and attended a Wahabe Moslem school. His religion was stated as Moslem. These are not connections that can be cast aside with an, "Oh, that was then, this is now" attitude."
joe1022joe, Pls ck your xenophobic attitude at the door. First of all it''s Muslim...not Moslem....2nd of all, we live in a country that seperates church and state...this is one of the basic founding principles of our forefathers....so, why should it matter so much to what faith he follows? I think a prospective presidential candidate should be judged on his (or her) merits/viewpoints on the issues, etc..not on his or her faith. Barack Obama is a Christian. But, I think a Muslim president would not be a bad idea in the slightest...esp. with our current state of affairs with the Muslim world. A Muslim American that was born and raised here (such as myself), would have the benefit of understanding eastern & western cultures and would be an asset...not a hindrance to our great country.

McCain voted with BUSH 95% of the time.....

He is not reform...I don''t know what he is.

*McCain went from saying gay marriage should be allowed; to saying gay marriage shouldn%u2019t be allowed.

* McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as %u201Can agent of intolerance%u201D in 2002, but then decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans %u201Cdeserved%u201D the 9/11 attacks.

* McCain used to oppose Bush%u2019s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he reversed course in February.

* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending %u201Cdirty money%u201D to help finance Bush%u2019s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.

* McCain supported a major campaign-finance reform measure that bore his name. In June, he abandoned his own legislation.

* McCain used to think that Grover Norquist was a crook and a corrupt shill for dictators. Then McCain got serious about running for president and began to reconcile with Norquist.

* McCain took a firm line in opposition to torture, and then caved to White House demands.

* McCain opposed a holiday to honor Martin Luther King, Jr., before he supported it.

MCSAME indeed!

Carter, Ike, JFK, MLK, Truman, Johnson, Bush, Clinton had thousands of cartoons or satire if you will done on them. If he gets in are we going to have this B&M about everyone done about him? Carter had so many he might take a second to laugh and then let it roll off his back and move on trying to do his job. Maybe he will have a committee to over see the news media to screen each cartoon, and then fire anyone that does not get theirs approved. At least CBS exercised their first amendment right and were interested in comments, most news and talked shows clamed up in fear of reprisals. This is not racism, it is communism if you don%u2019t have free speech. You may say tacky, not true, true, but The New Yorker wanted to make a point, all agreed they did, good or bad, but if you are going to lead a great nation, one second to let it roll off your back and move on.

right ON, New Yorker!!! Please, DO make fun of the halfwits who actually believe Obama is as they''ve SATIRICALLY portrayed!! I feel the same way about those who follow the herd and behave so disgracefully, so inhumanely, and so thoughtlessly. Here''s to exposing the fearful biases of the herded ignorant many!!!!!! and ode to you ignoramouses: you are cheering on this New Yorker cover, without realizing that you are actually the butt of their joke!!!!
