Gee. I dunno. Was John Kerry''''s War Record "fair game?" Bush and his Swiftboaters sure thought so. I guess it''''s only "fair" when it''''s used BY the Republicans....

Fair enough. Now, go out and find other POWs that spent time in Hanoi with John McCain and see what they have to say. Kerry was criticized by those that served with him. If you can provide the same with respect to McCain''s time at the Hanoi Hilton then I see no reason why the Democrats can''t use them. Now run along and get those POWs.

My father was shot down in WW II and spent the war in a Nazi POW camp. He was embarrassed that he did not serve his country or help the war effort. In no way was being a POW heroic nor did it qualify him (or any other POW of any war)to be President. McCain is no different.

Nope, sorry, but if you want to beat your own chest on a particular topic you can''''t whine and cry when someone else picks that up and runs with it in the other direction.

Kind of like Obama who espouses his personal patriotism but whines and cries when someone else picks that up and runs with it in the other direction.

I firmly believe that McCain is NOT the guy to run our country. I also feel that his military service record is fair game. It was John McCain, after all, that opened that door by making it an issue first. (Unlike the current President, McCain actually DID something while in the service during the Vietnam war.)

CBS: A Navy aviator from a military family, he was shot down on his 23rd sortie over Vietnam on October 26, 1967. His mission was to bomb a power plant in the North Vietnamese capital. Already suffering from broken limbs, he was beaten by a crowd before being taken to a POW camp. After being tortured there, he participated in some Vietnamese propaganda efforts.

-Power plant: civilian target! Don''t you people understand? it''s a CIVILIAN TARGET. It''s like the Nazis tried to hit CIVILIAN TARGETS in London, only McCane did it in Hanoi, Vn. McCane is far from being a hero for me. He deserved his criminal fate.
