If I may intercede, the quote you referenced infers many possibilities, including a recall vote, impeachment, cancer, stroke, bitter wife in a divorce proceeding, et cetera. While your own inference is also a possibility, you are summarily accusing him of advocation assassination. I don''t agree with that assessment - that''s how they tend to compete, so Clinton WILL go there but Barack''s also got the option of raising the issue of Clinton being disloyal to the Democratic party in giving McCain talking points for the general against the likely incumbent rather than just keeping the competition above-board and focused on her merits.
Barack could also offer her the VP spot.
Barack could finally, expand the debate to fight against McCain to (1) refocus the debate onto the issues (2) show he''s competitive against McCain (3) show he''s tough, and (4) indirectly highlight how a dragged out race forces him to combat two opponents rather than one . . .
PS As for Barack reconnecting with uneasy voters, maybe in his choice of wife, he married somebody blue collar as his idea of the best of all and that she''s always keeping him grounded, etc and that even if he didn''t express perfect understanding of the Pennsylvanian small-town experience, he understands more now, and will work to uphold their cherished values or something like that (?) - Reply to this comment
