It"s called flipflopping when Democrats do it.
He should have requested permission to join the Marines. - Reply to this comment
- Most people who frequent these posts only believe "the polls" when it suites their ongoing hate Bush agenda. Now the article states that MOST Americans see the progress being made and are for stabalization. Most Americans do NOT want to declare defeat, surrender, and "wait and see" what happens if we abandon Iraq. The leftwingers who have invested in the ideology of defeat in order to shout failure and blame the hated Bush and his policies are now scrambling to midigate these latest FACTS. It''s great entertainment!

In fairness to Bush, somebody had to stay in Texas to guard against the Mexican Air Force.
It was stressful service, and you can"t really blame Dubya and is buddies for easing the PTSD with a little booze and cocaine afterhours. - Reply to this comment

- If anything you should take out the special forces first. Those are justifiably highly suspicious people of the United States.

- JERsupporter...Although I hate to agree with you I think your post makes the most sense of any that I have read. I am 100% against this senseless war but the fact is that we are there and to believe that we can just pack up and go home in a few weeks or months is just plain stupid. It took us almost two years to pull out after the first gulf war that lasted only days. We must find a way to make a staged pull out and to not abandon the people of Iraq like we have done to others in the past. In order to do that we must be willing to negoiate. To continue in the same way as now will just not work. However, we have a responsibility to help them put their country back together. I don''t know if the democrats can do it but I am pretty sure that the republicans can''t.

- "Obama calls for an end to the war in Iraq, but according to Gallup today only 16% of Americans want an immediate withdraw....Posted by trapbreak"
Obama isn''t calling for an immediate withdrawal.
He''s calling for a phased withdrawal over the course of 16 months that BEGINS immediately. And, if you read his policy, he''s only talking about removing "combat brigades" - which is a hole you can drive a Humvee through. He''ll be keeping other troops (support and special forces) in Iraq for longer, as circumstances dictate.
No one running for President is going to immediately withdraw ALL US troops from Iraq and anyone who thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves. - Reply to this comment

- Huh? Succeed at what? Spending $265 Million per day of our money into perpetuity? American taxpayers'' money (actually it is debt borrowed each day from Communist China and the Saudis, home of the 9-11 murderers)is making a handful of war-profiteers extremely wealthy, and companies like KBR are poisoning our troops with tainted water and avoiding paying American taxes (and disability & unemployment) by using an offshore shell company. If you haven''t read the Pentagon report (Iraqi Perspectives Project) that makes it clear there was no Saddaam - al Qaeda connection, do so. From the PENTAGON. Now the two major premises of the 935 documented lies told by Bush-Cheney have been found totally false. No WMD, no al Qaeda connection. And just yesterday, Petraeus said the Iraqis are not making "sufficient progress," the purported reason for the troop escalation. C''mon, this is about Big Oil, and about making certain contractors very wealthy.

- If Bush had so little pilot aptitude (25 test score), he should have thrown back his shoulders, set his jaw, and marched down to the nearest recruiting office of the United States Marines:
"My name is George W. Bush, and I want to go to Nam and fight them Vietcong to keep this nation safe.

- Nothing is fer free, Mr. CEO. If ya hire workers at 25 cents an hour, here''s what yer gonna git: Yer gonna git lead paint. Yer gonna git asbestos. And yer gonna even git razor blades in yer lollipops. And its got nothing to do with the fact america has to cross train. Its that over here we''ve established consumer standards, and they haven''t.

I wasn''''t making any claim - you were the one touting his service. Which, as we all know, didn''''t exist. You know, you really can''''t expect folks to just eat your bull or take your snotty little posts seriously if you can''''t back them up with facts.
