Any number of sites will tell you about ''patient zero'' for north america, a gay airline attendant, that is accredited with infecting several hundred, if not thousands.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Zero

Of course we can''t be ''certain'' of any one person being PZ, but, given the next article, it would seem to fit.

So don''t get me wrong, lxlqlxl. I don''t have a problem with *** in the military, but I think the current policy works ok. I frankly wouldn''t care who was in the fox hole with me, as long as they''ve got my back and trust me to have theirs.

While I was in the military, before don''t ask don''t tell, I didn''t feel like there were any white supremacist. And everyone was treated the same where I was. In that respect, the military was much further ahead than the public.

speakinup.. Just curious how do you know it was some one that was gay that got it first? Hiv is transmited more effectivly in sexual intercourse. There are far more heterosexual people out there than homosexuals. So statisticly speaking it was more than likely a heterosexual person first contracted and broguht hiv/aids into this country. Once it was here it was spread throughout the population with the help of straight and ***. The gay and lesbians got a bad rap becuase of the hate and bigotry against them. And they blamed the aids epidemic on them to some how make there hatrid of these people seem justified.

denn034.. I never said they cant deal with it. I think the military can handle it if they cant there just a bunch of well alternate word for vaginas. All I said was if they cant deal with some ones sexual choice and feel they need to demean harrass or kill them then they need a serious rationality check. They and you once where a bigot if you thought or now think badly of them becuase of there sexual nature. Yes I too was a bigot. Racially and sexualy. But then I grew up and realize not all of what others do or things people tell me or try to teach me are not always right. It is wrong to judge, torment, harass, or harm any one becuase they are just simply different or lead a different lifestyle. I have family and know people in the military. I know how they are and what reactions they have to homosexuals in the military. If some one is a white supremacist and in the military they need to be either reformed or taken out. I am all for freedom of speech but when it goes too far things need to be done to stop it. Hmm remember when this was about people of a darker color? Things changed didnt it? So to all of you in the military who are white supremacists if you could choose an african american a mexican or a gay white person who would you choose?

gee lxlqlxl - What was the sexual preference of the person that got AIDS on North America ?

No MONEY FOR AIDS ?!?!?!?!?!?!

There are lots of diseases that we have cures for right now, that if we had used 1/10 of the amount of money that we have used for aids, we could have eradicated.

The gay community has brought this squeaky wheel up in front of the public time and again - are you telling me they do this for the love of AALL people, or because they feel they are being ignored ?

GET FACTUAL lxlqlxl.

ever hear of aids? do you know who is mostly responsible for the spread of aids? do you have any idea what aids is costing americans? do some research and then we''''ll talk about the harm.

I think this poster is the one that needs to do some research, other than listening to Rush or Bill O''Reilly. That isn''t research, it is hyperboli.

So *** where the primary cause for aids? Well spread of aids. Lets dulge further into this shall we. If being gay or lesbian where more accepted at the time then it wouldnt have been an issue. If condoms where more widely used there wouldnt have been that big of a problem. Did *** and lesbians contribute to aids being spread across the united states? Sure they did but did also heterosexuals contribute to it as well? Yes they did. The late 70''s and 80''s well if you wasnt there im sure you heard that every one was f-ing everything and everybody. Ok.. well need further proof it wasnt *** that caused this major epidemic. Look at africa and how wide spread it is. Are all of those people homosexual? Hiv/aids is transmited from unprotected *** and or blood to broken skin contact. There is no homosexual aspect to it at all. It doesnt effect one more than it does the other. The only place homosexuals have in history beside the aids epidemic is the fact that the policies and the bigotry in this country forced them to do it behind closed doors in shame and away from the public eye.

The fact that aids is even still an issue is there is no money in cures. If there was a cure found out by a major pharmacutical company do you think they would relese it? If it was a long drawn out process costing tons of money tons of pills then throw in the cure then they would.

It would seem to me that the liberal bias of CNN shown through. As I understand it they had a choice of 5000 questioners and chose 34. Of these at least 5 were democratic supporters and activists. In the same debate format the democratic candidates received soft ball questions none challenging their positions.

could it be the bias of that network prevented them from using a fair variety of questions. Note the focx network offered to host a debate but the dems refused. Why because they thought the questions would be loaded and they weren''t ready to answer loaded questions. At least the republicans were brave enough to risk this

lxlqlxl,
Saying people that can''t deal professionally with *** and lesbians in the military ignores the conservative nature of the military and, more importantly, the sizeable white supremacist presence in the military. It wasn''t easy for this conservative to deal with that homosexual initially in my guard unit that was activated for Desert Storm but, his charismatic personality and time dealing with him got me used to dealing with him by the time the war came around. Liberals want to crash head long into letting openly gay people join the Army but, such jeopardizes their lives where the active Army is concerned and will make things more difficult as they''re pressured to leave, pressuring someone out isn''t easy to prove after all. Trust me, letting openly gay people into the military needs a lot more study and consideration that''s for sure.

The present policy is not working for those who are gay or lesbian and want to serve their county. That''s why it is being suggested the policy be changed.

Lol.. ranting about the ineptness of the news channels and my post gets screwed up. There needs to be an edit or delete feature on here.

Do any of you not find it funny that the republicans break something then whine about it. Or like the illegals 12 million or whatever the number is came into this country on bush''s and his rubber stamp congress''s watch. Then make this into a cornerstone for there platform. Personaly im against illegal immigration. I am pro immigrant just not pro illegal immigration. I dont see how the "anchor baby" issue ever came to fruition. Illegal + illegal baby = illegal baby. If the parents illegal actions precieded the childs birth and even if the child is born into the united states they should inherit there parents standing. From my understanding in deporting people we have to send them back to the country of origin. Personaly I feel whatever border they have came across they should be sent back over that border. If the border isnt known or they wont say then the closest one will have to suffice. If they cannot respect our borders and cross legaly they have no right nor standing to be here.

First off I do not think Hilary "planted" the general. Nor do I think this was a cnn ploy. All

news channels mess up. The quality of news these days is extremely sub par. News isnt ment to

entertain. It is ment to inform and educate. fox/msnbc/cnn/cbs all have severe issues. There

trying to turn news into entertainment and make a profit. You cant really entertain the public

with news unless your piting one person or party against another for the "battle royal". The

real issue here is how inept these news channels are getting. I was watching foxnews earlier and

they could not get a simple audio/video sync fixed. Qualified people do not always mean quality

work. Fix the basics then improve. Reward journalists for going out on a limb like Rather did.

If they post lies then put out an appology. Then either fine or fire the person for there

incompetence. Did Dan Rather report lies? No, he did not. Did he report something that was in

disfavor of the whitehouse and sitting president? Yes. I ask all of you. If you got fired over

doing your job how would you feel and or respond. I didnt like Kerry much I was more infavor of

Dean. The thing here is with the swiftboat B.S. is one thing they never disputed. Kerry was

actually in Vietnam. Whatever his performance and or accreditation''s where the facts are HE WAS

THERE. He didnt have his rich father pull some strings to get out of going.

Hillary''s campaign is so devious. Planting people in speech audiences with specific questions that make her look good. Now planting a question in a republican debate is brilliant. Her campaign has more spies than the whole USA. I don''t really like Hillary but if she turns out good tactics like this now imagine what she could do as president?

So what this is a free COUNTRY he can send it questions whenever and wherever he chooses and his question was a good on, he served this county which we thank him for not like the Repugs who only support the troops as a political wedge issue. Other than that it was a really really bad debate the republicans should sit this election out and Bloomberg should seriously consider running as an Independent because every candidate on that stage is fatally flawed and not electable under any circumstance. Even the GOP O8 Wedgies of the parties own making 12 million illegals in our country wont save them they will just feed on them selves while this country moves past them and their hate of all things divisive or not rabid republican subversion.

A little disclosure. Growing up I was like a lot of people. I disliked ***, and I was a gaybasher. I have said and done things I am not proud of. I grew up around racists and people of a republican type. But see here is the thing as I got older I learned to think for myself. See the facts and change my perspective on ideas and on what other people told me. Or things I have seen or thought was the norm and how a person should act. Intollerance of others should never be the norm and it shouldn''t have any place in any sociaty.

shafteriffic.. It is you who should be ridiculed. Mainly for your inept intelligence level and ability to rationalize a non biggoted thought. I ask you a few simple questions. How is it that a gay or lesbian person is effecting your family? Do they come into your home and have *** in your living room? Do they steal from you? Do they target heterosexual families with straight bashing? I wonder how many straight people have been specifcly targeted for execution solely based on there sexual preference. Any person who would ridicule, maim, wound, or even kill a person solely based off of them just simply being different is just asinine. Sadly I see your kind every where I go. People who are different are not the problem.... They are a simply the few going up against the many. What harm can they honestly do?

The only things I am Intolerant about or just simply against is. Ignorance and intolerance!

lxlqlxlx, excellent post. Well said. I agree also that it needs to be updated. There is no reason on earth to deny a young gay man or woman from serving their country. There are many brave gay and lesbian Americans serving their country with honor right now, and they shouldn''t have to hide who they are.

Merely because the good general is working for another candidate does not mean he cannot ask a tough question. We have this thing called the First Amendment, freedom of speech, etc.
