I agree with Tulcak
This is not the United States anymore.
We are similar to the EU.
In the US, states are making the laws.
This is not normal at all. And for that reason, we are losing everything
I never a so divided nation in my entire life!

Can you image how stupid it it is to give a driver''s license to illegals.

I really do not understand. If they have and in my opinion they must have a driver''s license and an insurance.

Edwars is right ! We must make them legals .

An illegal with Drivers licence must be legal automaticaly !

So, you can drive but you can be deported . I really do not get it.

We need to make those people legals . It''s the only way to have a clear situation.

what the hell does the argument over federal and state jurisdiction have to do with anything? we used to act as one country, until those who were angry that the confederacy lost the civil war wanted to bring back the idea of states dominating over the federal government. This is schizophrenic. Either we are one nation made up of states or we have 50 separate countries. GD, I hate states rights people...

What about an Amnesty? You do not see how small we are compared to EU and China...?

It''s fast and we will know who is in the country. We have no other choice. We cannot deport 20 million people. It will be very bad for what left of our economy.

Edwars is right. But you do not understand !

YOu always trust Bush''s lies...You se where we are now!!!

We will not waste our time and money talking about something that we must do.

And now, we can talk money if we still have some and stop those stupid wars that we will lose anyway...

I read your ideas, none of them new, none of them better and NONE acted upon by the fear mongering present administration, so why not try Spitzer''s new approach which many terrorism experts have more confidence in than you.

Edwards did propose to break up the big media combines...I guess even one with the blessings of the Bilderbergers can get away with only so much muddled thinking.

So, tell me you "better idea."

Who really believes illegals are going to come out of hiding and apply for a driver''s license that indicates they are undocumented? The better idea? How about enforcing the current laws. Whoa!!! That''s radical! How about giving every business 6 months to validate all social security numbers on payrolls and call the authorities on invalid numbers? How about making sanctuary facilities, and state/federal assistance programs liable for aiding and abeiting criminals? How about making it really difficult for the illegal to walk across the border and take root because jobs, food, housing, and healthcare are waiting for them as soon as they get here? How about we speed up the process that grants legal residency to immigrants waiting to get here so that beyond background checks and innoculations, they are legal in days, not weeks or months? Who cares how tight the border is if it is virtually impossible for them to get jobs, assistance, or sanctuary within facilities that hesitate losing not-for-profit/tax exempt status if they break the law? The Democrats have worked hard convincing people it''s a problem too big to get a handle on, and just like all their other attempts to break the system down, it''s not working. Candidates who have shown they are weak on border control and getting rid of illegal immigrants are going to find the walk to the White House uphill all the way.

O.K. Now that you xenophobes have spit out you anger, how about a better plan for tracking aliens, whether it be a terrorist or everyday Pablo who might not be paying his child suport, than to require identification via a "legally obtained licence." You seem so blinded by racism that you fail to see the benefit of such documentation as opposed to the present system which allows people with just an easily obtainable fake social security card to get a driver''s licence in most states. So, tell me you "better idea."

Edwards is a failed politician who has stayed way past his shelf life and is dragging down his party with unethical skeeeeby political tactics.

It''s like I have said previously. Edwards is not a good choice for us Democrats. These expressions of his is pure demagoguery. Being a lawyer, he must know that there is nothing the NY Governor can do to create any pathway to US citizenship. That field is entirely occupied by the Federal Government. If he thinks that Hispanics will bite that one, he is wrong. In fact, his position is an insult to the Latin intellect. Even though Ms. Clinton has not come down with an outright answer yet --even after her latest explalnations-- her non-answer is better than Edwards aimed-to-cheat Latins pseudoanswer. All of it after having such a long time to think how he would answer. That benefit was not accorded to Ms. Clinton during the last debate. Down with Edwards!

Which candidate will come right out and say they will grant NO AMNESTY to any illegal alien, will enforce existing laws, and will fine and/or jail any one that hires illegal aliens?
No double talk. No if, ands, or maybes.
Thats the one I''m looking for.

Your assertation that Senator Dodd was the only candidate who oppossed giving drivers license to illegals is only partially correct. True, if you mean, of the ones that were asked during the debate. Joe Biden was not given an opportunity to answer until after the debate when he was asked by Chris Matthews and he responded "against". Mr Smith, professionals get the facts straight. Go back, watch the Biden-Matthews interview and correct your mistake. Just for the record, Biden the most experienced and most knowledgable of all the candidates got the least amt of time to answer questions. He got 6 minutes, less than the time for commercial breaks. Is it the media or the American people who are driving the election cycle?

If the candidates would simply speak in a clear, concise manner, we wouldn''t need any experts to tell us what they meant. Instead we get politco. speak, double speak, and, well you name it. We get everything but the truth. Nice, huh?

Yes I do wish we could find a way. But people smart enough, with enough money, etc, etc, don''t want put themselves on to the firing lines. And I for one don''t blame them. But some one has to make a stand, and get this country into the 21 century, or at least make this country great again. And thank you for agreeing with me, not many like us are out there.
