Conservative Icon's 1980 Bid Is A Blueprint For An Insurgent Campaign
- hawksprings said: "But you wouldn't know that because we've not had another terrorist attack on our soil since then because of the things the Bush Administration has done since then."
Primary among them: closing the U.S. military bases in Saudi Arabia after 9-11. After the Gulf War, Al-Qaida started attacking U.S. targets, saying it was incensed that U.S. boots would be stinking up the soil Muhammed was born in. Before that, there were no U.S. bases in Saudi Arabia, and NO Al-Qaida attacks on U.S. targets.
Read it and weep: your fearless leader CAVED to Al-Qaida's demands. Frankly, I'm glad he did. But, the entire episode illustrates how non-sensical the demands of religious terrorists may be, and how relatively easily it is to accomodate them.
It also illustrates how sometimes the way to prevent terror attacks is through 'negotiation' and 'accomodation', something you righties attack the left for every chance you get. - Reply to this comment

- I don't particularly like Bush but seeing as how you haven't had another attack he must be doing something right. Of course they may not of attacked anyways. But I do know one thing, no one is going to be able to stop the terrorists forever, whether it is Bush or someone else. If they want to get you, they will find a way.

But I'm sure your ilk would be the FIRST IN LINE to accuse Bush of not doing enough if another 9/11-type event occurred tomorrow.

And the only reason they haven't attack us again is that they're still rolling on the floor in helpless laughter at the clown in the White House and how easily they manipulated him into fulfilling their prophesies and how great of a recruiter for them he turned out to be. Like the rest of the whole world, friend and foe alike, they're laughing at the joke we have pretending to be a president and how ignorant the American people were to re-elect such a scre*w up as him. hell I'd laugh to if he wasn't so pathetic! - Reply to this comment

The fact that we haven't had another serious terrorist attack is in spite of Bush not doing enough to secure our ports (and trying to sell them to Dubai where Cheney has his kickback bank account), not because of him. Also if we did have another 911 type attack you're da*mn right I'd bit*ch to Bush, because his puppet master Cheney said that if we elected a democrat it would happen, but not if we re-elected Bush. besides after raping the Bill of Rights even HE says there is a large and growing threat of another attack in hte US. It could be because he's wasted all of our resources fighting an ignorant wasteful war in Iraq, instead of doing his job here! - Reply to this comment
- You liberals have incredibly sort memories. Back in 2001, there was this little event we call "9/11" that you should read up on. It kind of changed the landscape of the political world since then. I'm glad you remember that 911 happened on Bush watch. Shame he ignored the threat of terrorism until then isn't. Also he slashed taxes to the rich and invaded a country that had nothing to do with 911 (though he did twist the truth to make it seem like they did) to make money for weapons contractors and oil companies, which created the deficit and added a trillion more dollars to the National Debt. As for nation building he was always in favor of it because he supported the neocon insanity of an American ruled Middle-East and 911 just gave him (what they thought was) a perfect excuse to put the plan into action. - Reply to this comment

This argument is so pathetic and lacking in factual basis. Please tell us all of those great things that GW Bush has done and how you know they are responsible for no further attacks. And how you know we won't be attacked tomorrow. In a month. A year. Contrary to your delusion, it seems like the word that most people associate with GW Bush's presidency is incompetence. This incompetence is evident with Iraq, Katrina, world wide diplomacy and every thing else he has touched. Surprise: your Republican fantasy of governmental competence has been exposed for the fraud that it has always been. - Reply to this comment

- A Democrat Politician's TRUE beliefs never surface until AFTER they are elected.
This is straight out of the DNC playbook.

Oh like before he stole the 200 election Bush was pro-balanced budget, pro-no government interference in private lives, pro-paying down the national debt, pro-smaller government, anti-foreign entanglements and anti-nation building. Is that what you mean about lying to get elected? - Reply to this comment

This is nothing new.
Democrats have ALWAYS had to act like Republicans to get elected, because if they campaign like a liberal and tell us what they REALLY believe, they get stomped on Election Day.
A Democrat Politician's TRUE beliefs never surface until AFTER they are elected.

- Obama's Strategy: Emulate Reagan...
Why? The "Regan Revolution" is finished, dead, pushing up daisies. Bush has single handily destroyed the GOP for at least two generations. Karl Rove, with Bush's help has built a lasting Republican minority. - Reply to this comment
- TO ALL YOU FLAMING LIBERALS WHO DON'T BELIEVE WE HAVE A CORRUPT LIBERAL MSM WOLFPACK PRESS. THE WASHINGTON POST GOT CAUTGHT "COOKING" THEIR POLLING RESULTS.
SHAME , SHAME, SHAME ON YOU LIBERALS
"After a few years of relative equality, Democrats have pulled ahead of Republicans in party affiliation, as NBC noted in February. Nationally, Democrats enjoy a 34.3%-30.4% advantage in registrants. This has caused some analysts to predict that the GOP will have a tougher time in the Electoral College than in the last two elections, which was the general point of the article.
Now let's look at the Washington Post sample. On question 901, respondents answered that they were 35% Democrats, which is close enough to the national average. However, only 23% identified themselves as Republicans, which amounts to a 24% underrepresentation of the GOP in this sample. In fact, the Post consistently underrepresents Republicans, and has for the past two years. The last time it came close to reality was in November 2006 -- when the Post needed to make sure its election predictions came close to the results.
Bush is not popular, by any means. However, by seriously underrepresenting Republicans in its polling samples, the Post exaggerates his unpopularity and renders its polling unreliable. If their pollsters cannot generate a sample that resembles the American electorate, then they should find new pollsters." - Reply to this comment
