Your statement is an out and out lie. He did not slash the budget for intelligence agencies. He did slash the budget for the Defense Department which include some cuts in their agencies, but only with bipartisan participation (and with a republican controlled congress) to close cold war era bases and programs.

Those were the good ole day now the Defense Department is draining the Treasury and future debt for years to come, for the wars they do not seem able to manage without major error to the tune of 12 Billion each and every month

Clinton got Osama's message and tried to kill him via cruise missile. Bush gave Clinton's warnings the cold shoulder, with 9-11 as the result. Afterward, he essentially GAVE Osama what he was asking for (closing the US bases in Saudi Arabia).

Also the idea the bin Laden was somehow offered up to Clinton and refused by him is pure bullsh*it. It's an urban legend. A right wing pundit lie made up out of whole cloth. It's in the same pile of garbage as the idea that the Clinton's took government property when they left the White House. It sounds good coming out of Limbaugh's mouth, but both are simply not true in any manner.

He did not "forbid" agencies to talk to each other. They were following the same procedures that had been in place for decades. Last but not least he did not himself give Bush information about bin Laden or al-Qaeda. Bush's incoming transition teams were briefed by Richard Clarke and Bush himself was briefed by the CIA (as was Cheney), yet both he and his team ignored those briefings until after 911 and held not one single meeting concerning terrorism.

John Edwards is not getting the coverage he deserves. He's one of the only Democrat candidates that represents true change and bold ideas. Obama is not the new JFK, Edwards is.
