AaaBee--Its hard to believe Thompson would waste his time running with 'talent' like that behind him. Someone must have paid big bucks to wind up this miserable clockwork candidate-- it sure isn't any groundswell of popular support that is geing him all of this 'face time' in the mainstream media.

Fred's visit to see the "Iron Lady" is a very wise move......could be risky, but his poll numbers without even being an official candidate yet should do him good. He definitely seems to be the man with all the cards for a presidential victory.

He's got a Cheney advising him on foreign policy. Somehow, that doesn't sound good.

However, he does have Tim Griffith to help him steal votes, so it might work out.

I don't know much about him, what I do know is this, as soon as he announces the media will be doing in depth coverage on his type of cancer, and recalling Jackie Kennedy and former Presidential candidate Paul Tsongas who both died of this disease and it will be the first part of the vetting of his candidacy.

All excited about Fred Thompson being Arthur Branch on Law & Order. He can't run for president if he has to kiss Thatcher's *** for it.

NY Mayor Micheal Bloomberg has just offically dropped out of the republican party (YES!) to explore an independent run for the White House. Hmmmm.....now THERE is a possibility! At least he's worth taking a look at.

Hmmm....or maybe Obama/Bloomberg! Bloomberg/Obama?

Liz Cheney, the former State Department official and the vice president's elder daughter, is consulting on foreign policy. Longtime GOP guru Mary Matalin, a friend of Thompson, will help shape the campaign's message.

Oh, goodie. Lets elect this guy and get another 4 more years of GOP hand puppetry, with another Cheney pulling the strings.

I LOVE THAT BILLARY IS GOING TO WIN THE DEM NOMINATION. SHE IS THE REPUBLICANS BEST CHANCE AND GETTING BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE. WHY? SHE IS TOTALLY UNELECTABLE, NO MODERATE WILL VOTE FOR HER. HER AND BILL ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE HATED NEARLY AS MUCH AS BUSH, EVEN THOUGH ITS BY THE OPPOSIT PEOPLE.

YOUR ONLY CHANCE IS THE MAGIC NEGRO

At latest report, Thompson has had Nancy Reagan contact her fav psychic / necromancer to see if Ronnie can give his endorsement as well, but perhaps the fires of Hell interfere with cell phone and oijia board communications.

Be nice no need to call her "QUEER CHENEY GIRL"
Much better to say "Dik's Lesbo Daughter"

Surprised to read such insensitivity coming from the party of the homosexuals. Rosie would be so disappointed.

And maybe 3 Purple Hearts? He can launch them all over the White House fence - like another democrap war hero we all know.

He could claim he transferred into the Alabama National Guard too when he found out they were going to start taking blood samples for drugs.

A staged event. Who is interested in the opinions of a lobbyist with NO FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE?
It must bring back memories of when he was a registered FOREIGN AGENT.

Then we might label Fred one of the Fathers of the Savings and Loan meltdown that cost the taxpayers $500 BILLION dollars. We are still paying for that WITH bond interest for the next 30 years. Great...that may qualify him for somethings, but being President is not one of them.

I'm pretty sure advocating armed insurrection against the U.S. government is still a crime, isn't it? Has anyone forwarded Feelfree1's post to the FBI yet?

Actually Fred did more in congress as a lobbyist in the 1980's than he did as a senator. He lobbied hard for the Tennessee Savings and Loan League. In 1982, His recommendations were incorporated in the Garn - St Germain Depository Institutions Act which allowed thrifts to invest in potentially more profitable, but riskier, ventures; eliminated interest-rate ceilings on new accounts; and granted additional government support to ailing S&Ls. This Act was a contributing factor to the Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s.
