[The device maker PLX Devices is now offering a headset called XWave that "can sense and detect human brainwaves, interpret them and connect it to everyday technology,"] -------------------------------------- very cool.
i recall seeing a demonstration of this concept at a technology trade show in the mid '90s applied to a slalom ski game ... where you had to ski down a hill and weave in and out of the gates as you progressed downward. it only involved left/right choices ... and was slow in responding ... but it did seem to be reacting to what you were thinking.
this might be a bit 'gimmicky' w/ an iphone/ipad ... but with further development this likely has application for disabled individuals who don't have use of either their hands or voice ... but are completely sound in mind.
"What a waste it is to lose one's mind, or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is." Vice President Dan Quayle, in his speech to the United Negro College Fund
