An evolutonary dead end is the fate of the gay community. Though those in the middle east are treated a bit more abruptly. See? Islam isn't all bad....

There's not a gay person on the planet who wasn't produced by a heterosexual coupling.... Blame the potter, or the pot?

Don't know if "gay marriage" is right or wrong, I just think its "natural" for a marriage to be between a man and a woman. It is not anyone's individual right to decide this issue, not by a politician, a priest, the pope, any public official period. I agree with the GOV, it can only be decided by the people in the community in which they live in, whether a city, a county, a parish a state, or country. I also like the GOV's conviction of his own beliefs, at the same time allowing the people to decide, otta boy, GOV !

What a slam to the holy vows of a man and a woman getting married. I just can't imagine why anyone would want to see two men get married. This is totally self disruptive and makes a "real marrige" seem less respectable. Just because people call this a "gay marriage' don't rule out the fact that these people are still homosexuals and it is wrong to do. Don't let the word "gay" change anything, these people are still homosexuals and it is wrong.

Frankly, it's only a 'real marriage' in your bigoted opinion. Enough said.

How refreshing to see a government official using common sense these days. I hope this might encourage other to do the same.

The governor was correct to veto this bill. All of the voters in NJ can now decide if they want to allow gay marriages in their state. Activist legislators and jurists, regardless of their right or left leaning, should never, ever be given license to usurp the collective will of the voting taxpayers in a state on a matter as important as this one is. If it costs Christie his job by doing what was right in this case, so be it. At least all of the people of NJ will get to weigh in on this one. If he were less of the leader that he is, that wouldn't have happened.

Civil rights should never be up for vote. Gays' status as tax-payers should automatically grant them equal rights with straights.... anything else is just bullsh*t.

Right in one, podboq. We had this same bullplop with blacks, blacks having sex with/getting married to whites, etc.

It's time to reject all of this forever and tell the people who are against these things what they truly are: bigoted jackwads.

it is a wise decision Chris Christie, this kind of "veto" is always welcome,

No, this kind of veto is NOT welcome. It just exposes the man for what he is, a bigot and when the override comes? It damages him even MORE.

People, People, People,!
You cannot compare sexual desires nor physical attraction to skin color nor eye color--never can --never have--never will be! But many try! One cannot dismiss the brain of any human being as being more ignorant either--although many in history have tried to do that too! BE IT A WOMAN OR A PERSON A COLOR OTHER THAN WHITE! OR EVEN A RED HEADED PERSON--OK! MAYBE BLONDES!HA! HA!@ JUST KIDDING! BLONDES! HEY! DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ? NEVER MIND! HA! HA!

SO THE SEXUAL PREFERENCES--OF MOSTLY CHOICE! ALTHOUGH! YEA!~ OK--MAYBE SOME ARE BORN THAT WAY! AN ANOMALY? AS WITH OTHER PEOPLE THAT DO THINGS --BE IT A CHOICE OR THEY WERE BORN TO MURDER? SO--THEY HAVE THAT RIGHT????

WELL MOST SOCIETIES RECOGNIZE WHEN A HUMAN BEING AS A PROBLEM!
LIKE WITH ANY TYPE OF DIFFERENT BEHAVIOR RELATING TO HOW A PERSON ACTS IN SOCIETY--MANY PROBLEMS CAN BE OVERCOME--LIKE BIGOTRY--PREJUDICE--ETC! BUT PHYSICAL ACTIONS OF RELATIONS TO OTHER HUMAN BEINGS? WELL THE LINE GETS DRAWN AFTER STUPID THINGS LIKE SKIN COLOR OR EYE COLOR OR MALE OR FEMALE OR RACE OR WHATEVER AS FAR AS RELIGION--EXCEPT MAYBE SOME MUSLIMS --WHO THINK INFIDELS SHOULD DIE!

BUT! MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST GIVE UP AND LET EVERYONE DO AS THEY LIKE! MARRY A WOMAN WITH 5 HUSBAND'S--A MAN WITH 5 WIFE'S--MARRY FIVES WIFE'S! TOGETHER! FIVE HUSBAND'S TOGETHER!==MARRY 12 YEAR OLD'S WITH 30 YEAR OLD'S--LEGALIZE ALL DRUGS! MARRY YOUR DOG! WHAT EVER! THAN WE WILL BECOME AN OPEN AND LOVING SOCIETY RIGHT?????????
WHAT EVER!
