The Skinny: U.S. Women's Bridge Champs Face Dixie Chicks-Style Backlash For Protest
- Well i guess these broads had to do something to bring attention to the snooze fest that they apparently think is a sport. But Bridge playing broads are probably the type of people who didn''t vote for President Bush.Obviously he didn''t need these votes.

- Oh boy, I bet all the ring wingers are all up in arms about this. I am sure if you carried a sign around saying you didn''''t vote for Clinton, they would have thought that was ok.
Attack a Democratic president: Thats ok!
Attack a Republican president: Treason! Move to Cuba!

I think its okay to express your opnion ON YOUR OWN TIME. Now if you are going to use a forum THAT IS NOT INTENDED FOR politican opinions THEN IT IS NOT OKAY..
i.e. it is not correct for the dixie chicks to delare thier opinions on stage WHEN THEY ARE GETTING PAID FOR EVERY SECOND TO BE ENTERTAINED and not LECTURED.
If I am a city employee and drive a truck..It is NOT RIGHT for me to drive around WITH A *** K BUSH POSTER ON THE SIDE..because it is his personal opinion using public forum..
is that getting clear yet?? - Reply to this comment

- Anyone who still thinks words can''t hurt you maybe be (lucky for them) too stupid to comprehend said words. That is such a myth, but hey... it rhymes, so it MUST be true, right?

- I''m surprised that the association is upset about this, after all, they named a Bridge hand after George Bush: "double-dummy". Or is that Dubya-dummy?

As a nation who''''s founders valued the right to free speech so much they wrote it into the constitution, we are well represented by a team that exercises that right. Free speech is one of the pillars of Democracy. We can not promote Democratic values abroad if we abandon them here at home.

- There are some of us (very few)who still remember why we came to this country...we are not "into impressing" the Europeans or the OLD world elitist types..we could care less what they think and so could our forefathers. I guess they were "nuts" too huh- I learned a poem in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL "sticks and stones can break my bones but words from enemies will NEVER hurt me..I could care less what illiterate people think of me, call me whatever you want. Some of us have moved beyond third grade politics.

- Worst President in my sixty years was Reagan -
Raised the national debt from $700 billion to $3 trillion.
United States moved from being the world''''s largest international creditor to the world''''s largest debtor nation.
The Savings and Loan crisis.
The stock market crash of 1987.
The Beirut barracks bombing - He pledged to keep a military force in Lebanon but Reagan ordered the Marines to begin withdrawal from Lebanon. (Cut and Run original)
Reaganomics was Voo Doo Economics according to George H.W. Bush and he was right. No trickle-down !
The Iran-Contra Affair

If you don''t like other people exercising their free speech rights, I''m sure that you can move to a country where everyone has the right to agree. Nuts like you are always talking about freedom but as soon as someone exercises a little of their freedom, you get all bent out of shape.- Reply to this comment
- These "ladies" should be gracious, play cards, and be THANKFUL they are not working in the sweat shops over there...(WERE WOMAN DON"T HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE)...As we get ready for Thanksgiving. WHY are people, who are so into "freedom of speech" so into tearing down others instead of using their "free speech" to encourage and build up or point out real issues of injustice...oh because then they would not get into the headlines...interesting. The former fisherman and founder of christianity was clear on this GO READ 1 Peter in the new testament and educate yourselves on how to act.
