The Skinny: Big-Box Behemoth Losing Power As Consumers Shop Online, And Elsewhere

"I like to take a light approach to life with joking, fun,..."
There is a time and a place for joking and fun but when the discussion is on people dying needlessly from gun crime, lack of healthcare, dirty hospitals, I can''t see that that is the time for that. Those are the times when I say the negative things. I am stating my opinion from what I read and hear. Most times those are the stories where I post my comments.
Now there are times where I go into other stories where I am not criticizing anything. They are light stories that are humorous or whatever and YOU will STILL pick at everything I say. You are Obsessed with getting back at me for the other stories that you didn''t like and you will go out of your way to do it.
If you weren''t constantly picking apart EVERYTHING I say, I wouldn'' consider it a personal attack.
You don''t want me to think that you are stupid? Well, that is the only conclusion I can come to when someone refuses to see what''s in front of their face.
Also, I am not alone in thinking you are short a few bricks. I have read many comments to you where others have thought the same.
You know ToolMangler, I know that you think that I say the things that I say, just to be a b-i-t-ch, but that isn''t true. I am just trying to do whatever I can to make some people see the light. I believe that people standing on the outside can see things better than the ones on the inside. - Reply to this comment

"Why do you portray us as unfeeling hate-mongers that to a man, rape and kill our children and women, and after we have killed all of ours we go out and conquer other countries ''''''''solely for the purpose of getting more women to rape and kill."
The way you have written this statement, makes absolutely no sense to me. Try rewriting it in a different way.
Now there are many times that I have said things where I haven''t been saying anything that calls for criticism. You go out of your way to find something to pick apart. Even if there isn''t anything you will twist and turn what I say into what you want it to say and that is a FACT. You will pick at absolutely nothing. Your goal is to get back at me because you don''t like what I say. It doesn''t matter that what I say is true, you just want to get back at me.
Now that being said, I can partially understand why you feel the need to do it. It is in peoples nature to defend themselves when they hear something negative about themselves. But you do not do it constructively, you just say whatever, even if it doesn''t make sense and even if it isn''t true.
The conclusions that I come to, comes from the articles and posts I read on this website. My experiences and family experiences from traveling in the U.S. and from relatives that live in the U.S. Also, there are many of your fellow Americans that agree with what I say, even though it is negative. Why? Because they don''t live in denial. - Reply to this comment
- Now this statement that you made, could you explain it to me again? I don''''t know if it is just me but I can''''t make heads nor tails out of it, which isn''''t unusual with most of your posts.
I can tell you though that with the way this statement stands now, I have said no such thing. Like I have said before though, you like to twist and turn things into what you want things to say, even if they aren''''t true.

My statement is simple, The thrust of your commentary is an attack, not a viewpoint for discussion. You alluded to a sympathetic tendency and I responded sarcastically. Basically saying "Feel my pain, stop your apparent hatred," I do not hate you, instead am merely annoyed at your lack of perception. That is why I question your alleged longevity. (as I have said before,) I like to take a light approach to life with joking, fun, and sometimes, capriciousness just for flavor. I don''t take myself too seriously, you shouldn''t either but please do not mistake me for a stupid person. - Reply to this comment

One of the main reasons you feel that I am attacking you is that you seem to lack the ability to discern the difference between ''constructive criticism'' and personal attack. The first series of comment I made to you (months ago) were not heavy-handed at all. I tried to use inoccous similes and lightly targeted disagreements in my comments on your comments or the story at hand. I have a large portion of my comments to or about you recorded in Notepad as I do for most things I put on the Web. From the reaction I received at your hands I concluded that you were a very young and inexperienced girl. I was rebuked later and told that you were a 52 year old woman, (but you still persist in writing like a young Girl). Your later posts turned into a diatribe against America so I responded in kind, now if that causes you to think I am a few bricks shy of a load, then so be it. I am at the least, more than 15 years your senior, age wise and experienced in things you have only read about. Now I want you to re-read my comment a short while ago and think about it. Go back and take a long hard look at your overall commentary platform and tell me "just what am I supposed to think."? - Reply to this comment
- Their blanets are awful as they shed really bad. True it cost more in Canada. We have to make things last and chapely made things don''t last. I try to buy on sale in the states. As an American it is harder to find made in America. American made white canes are junk. Not my canda made. I have fallen on it and still works and no bends in it.

You know what I feel anguish over? I feel anguish over the fact that what was once a great country, is no more. It is very sad. Now you may disagree with me but there are many of your fellow Americans that don''t. And when I say certain things, it is to try to wake you people up, to take control back of your country, before it is too late. You live in so much denial that you can''t see what''s in front of your face.

Okay, I''m still trying to figure out why you would be pissed off about my post???
ToolMangler is saying that I got upset about you saying that it is too cold in Canada. That isn''t true. I was not upset at all, why would I be? I was making a joke about people thinking that we live in igloos. Believe it or not there are many Americans that do. I was just telling you that not all of Canada is cold.
And as far as defending Wal-Mart goes, I wasn''t. I simply said that there are people that can''t afford to shop anywhere else and that the stuff that is in our Wal-Marts is not flawed.
"If empath is short for empathy, like sympathy, your not, I don''''t think so anyways!"
Now did I not say that I felt sorry for you????
Being an empath is not about that. - Reply to this comment

- The Walmart musings of Hagey and most of the postings here appear to have been written under a communal drug induced trance. Wake up a smell the coffee! Walmart is on pace to increase sales by $30B this year, that''s ''B'' as in billion. That''s more than 4 times the $$$ sales growth at Target.
As for losing sales to the internet, that''s laughable. Walmart sells mostly underwear, shampoo, groceries, and various other consumable items. Please alert me when it''s time to buy toothpaste or femenine hygene products over the internet.
As for union busting, last time I checked, America is a free country. The 1.5 million+ employees of Walmart freely decide to exchange their labor for a Walmart paycheck each and every day. In the words of Lee Iacocca, if they can find a better job, take it. - Reply to this comment

empath
Feeling strongly what someone else feels. Picking up emotion and pain from violent movies, or violence in the news. Feeling pain in the head while watching a character get beaten while in a boxing match.

Then why don''t you feel our anguish over your relentless ''Bashing of America'' Why do you portray us as unfeeling hate-mongers that to a man, rape and kill our children and women, and after we have killed all of ours we go out and conquer other countries ''solely for the purpose of getting more women to rape and kill. "THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TELLING THE WORLD IN YOUR POSTS OF HATE AND ''VITRIOL''. Then you have the temerity to come and get upset if someone says "Its too cold for them in Canada".

- I hope they all close down and take all their chinese made products with them!! Outsourcing our manufacturing puts americans out of work and sends our dollars overseas. Americans can''t compete with chinese child labor laws and we shouldn''t! Don''t complain about the taxes used for the poor when their jobs are shipped overseas because you buy foriegn products. Buy American and give America a future.
