j-whitman,
Tell me what Bush has done as president (or as governor of Texas) that hasn%u2019t been a complete fiasco. Iraq is just the worst of many.
Medicare part D that Bush got passed was written/designed by and for the Pharmaceutical companies with the obvious purpose of self-enrichment, while bankrupting Medicare (not allowing Medicare to negotiate prices).
The only way I will vote for Hillary, as president, is if she is the democratic nominee and the only other candidate with a chance to win is a republican.
I personally hope that Edwards wins the nomination, or failing that, that Gore decides to run and is selected. - Reply to this comment

- One thing about it, if Hilary Clinton wins AND has a Democratic congress, no doubt all her proposals and projects will be pushed through and become the law of the land no matter how stupid, counterproductive or downright criminal they might be--just like Bush''s did when he had a kowtowing, Sycophantic Republican congress majority. Because in the end, no matter what the President wants--it is his party that will make or break his/her agenda and it is that party which should be held accountable for continual adherence to failed policies.

- Sure glad rhetoric doesn''''t effect me. I''''ve been numbed by liberals and conservatives. They could tell me the sky is falling, and I''''d still wanna stick my peckkkker in their mouth.

- Clinton has never run a company or a government, and her signature public policy _ health care reform _ failed in 1993.
"The question is not just what is your experience," Dodd told the AP, "but what have you succeeded in doing with your experience?"
He said voters who care about health care should ask Clinton, "Why did you not succeed?"
Experience will not change that question.

You may have a very valid point. After all, we know that Bush was a failure at almost every business venture he had as an Adult and needed his Daddy to bail him out, was a party boy with a questionable past in how he answered his draft, what happened when he supposedly had a girl friend get an abortion and the ugly smear tactics he used against McCain...and look how his Presidency turned out. Incompetent, vindictive. lies, ignoring the law--a reflection on his past?
We ignore the accomplishments or caveats of our candidate''s past at our own peril. Bush is the quintessential case in point. - Reply to this comment

j-whitman: Read the paragraph I was referring to:
***"Clinton has never run a company or a government, and her signature public policy _ health care reform _ failed in 1993***
She was First Lady at that time.

- "The spouse''s of a sitting president have NO authority..."
Sorry, but that''s just wishful thinking. Real world, what''s the difference in influence between a wife (or soon-to-be husband) of a president and any other cabinet member, or a karl rove, or any other person a president wants to listen to? A spouse can be given whatever authority the president can give anybody.
And then there''s President Nancy Reagan... - Reply to this comment
