I think the Japanese went democratic after we nuked them. I don''t think there was much diplomacy involved at that point.

One has to be absolutely brain dead to believe that Bush and his rogue and criminally-inclined administration has democracy in mind, particularly in Iraq. Why, these guys are only interested in money, more money, power, and more power. It is such a tragedy that Americans, by and large, have solid bones after their necks or else why is this abomination in the WH for two terms?

No civilization on the planet has adopted Democracy through FORCE. None. Democracy has only been achieved through DIPLOMACY. Baby Bush thefore, never intended to establish Democracy ANYWHERE. His intention is and was clear. To gain POWER, MONEY AND REVENGE ON BEHALF OF HIS "DADDY". This is not hindsight - we said it when it began. Noboby listened.

Bring democracy to the world? ROFLMFAO Another perfect example of this dictator''s Orwellian "newspeak". "Police State" becomes "Freedom". The camera in your living room becomes "terrorism surveillance". Support for totalitarian regimes (Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Myanmar, Egypt, etc.) becomes "democracy building". And the repug monkeys clamor for more from their RW talk radio and Fake News cages in the zoo. ROFLMAO

%u201CThat propaganda is good which leads to success, and that is bad which fails to achieve the desired result. It is not propaganda%u2019s task to be intelligent, its task is to lead to success.%u201D- Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Minister

Looks like this is where Bush, Ann Coulter, Rush, and the rest of the propaganda monkeys in the government zoo learned how to pick their azzs and throw their own sh*t.

I think the only ones saying do-nothing congress is the republicans trying hard to make them look bad, but people with any sense at all realize it is the republicans blocking every vote; because they need 2/3 to override a veto and Bush called them in and told his buddies just that. But it backfired a lot that didn''''t figure it out has by now and they know republicans work for party and forget about America.

The funny thing is that before the election they said the Dems had no plan. As soon as the election was over they began clammering "Do nothing." The fact is, but for talking points hyperbole, GOPers would be entirely mute.

I never hear anyone mention it but the single most important reason for not electing another republican president, at least for the next couple of decades, is the selecting of federal Judges, and most especially, the Supreme Court.

Very good point. Another Fascist Judge or two will make the entire nation as Fascist as the state of Georgia. Just think Congress could be in the business of deciding if a kid who had oral *** should face 10 year in prison because of the color of his skin. Wouldn''t that be wonderful.

It is reported that Emperor Bush has been saying much about bringing Democracy to the world, but has been actually doing very little in that regard
(realizing that to actually DO something costs money!).

It is perhaps obvious from his "adventures" in Afghanistan and Iraq, that many countries may not want the kind of "Democracy" as advertised by the emperor. Many people in both this country and among world nations have come to realize that "Democracy" according to Emperor Bush is not the same "Democracy" as written in the Constitution or dreamt of by such historic figures as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, despite Emperor Bush''s attempts to rewrite both history and the Constitution to his own liking.

Still, the Emperor firmly believes that his poicies will save the world from the evils of "terrrrorists" and that loyal followers like Karl Rove will amend history enough to show the Emperor in a favorable light, despite the reality that the Emperor has failed in everything, is thought of by the world as the great Satan, and by most of his subjects as a pile of horse "puckies".

SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!

Oh don''t worry we have not forgotten the us justice system which for 7 years they have rigged it along with the voting machines and the supreme court. The only thing they left alone was big business and all there goods shipped to this country from china are about to kill us all and not a word from Bush. Go to supreme court link on the political page and find out how our Pres is helping the supreme court in business cases.Judges in our communities have to be looked at very carefully you notice when you vote they do not announce if they are republican or democrat. Everything in this country needs to be revamped and why are they not asking the candidates these question. Some of the questions are ridiculous

Considering that Bush''s view of democracy and American ruling the world are one and the same, it cannot be any great surprise that this particular vision failed.

jn122736 --- Right on, good post --- Dems are painted as "Do nothing Congress" by those who blocked bi-cameral legislation for over 6 years & they are still in control of the voting in the Senate...
... Dems only took over in March & they deserve a hearty BRAVO ZULU for their accomplishments, from forcing Iraq discussions, the Iraq War of Roses direction to stoping Bush dead in his tracks on "Fast Trac" on trade.

One thing about it, if Hilary Clinton wins AND has a Democratic congress, no doubt all her proposals and projects will be pushed through and become the law of the land no matter how stupid, counterproductive or downright criminal they might be--just like Bush''''s did when he had a kowtowing, Sycophantic Republican congress majority. Because in the end, no matter what the President wants--it is his party that will make or break his/her agenda and it is that party which should be held accountable for continual adherence to failed policies.

I disagree. The Democratic Party is far less factional than the republicans.
As a matter of fact, their inner-party divisiveness, over the past 3 decades, has cost them many seats in both houses of congress, as well as the presidency, at times.
