The temptation is to make jokes. be funny. The gravity and pure sorry state of things, make this other wise comical writer conclude the following:

Bush, as President is the Commander in Chief. Every President is and has been. It is part of the Job Description. I am so disappointed, embarrassed, and ashamed on this President that I can see only one solution.

The politicans, those who truly love this country, need to immediately mount an impeachment proceeding. This mess has gone too far.

So why is it that in the GOP/Republican party there are no dissenters, no independent thinkers, no moderates? Where are the real conservatives

Have they checked out any of the illegal aliens? They come here looking for work. They could pay their minimum wage and get 200-300 into the job.

Posted by IOWEIGN at 02:54 PM : Apr 11, 2007

That's true and every time one of them quits in disgust (as they certainly will, probably weekly) all Bush has to do is swing by the Home Depot parking lot and pick up another one. Hell that way he doesn't even have to pay minimum wage.

I don't think that you should be disparaging a madman with his finger on the red button and should he move the U.S.A. would go with him. And if a non neocon is elected the result would be the same, the destruction of the U.S. currency and the end of the U.S. as we know it. I don't think you appreciate the pickle we are in. Briefly, since 1944 when the U.S. signed the Bretton-Woods agreement and set monetary policy for the world and had gold dollar backing; and after the war in 1945 the U.S. was a true super-power in manufacturing and Britain ceded it's hegemonic role when it borrowed 3.8 billion from the U.S. Then in 1970, Bretton-Woods agreement was dissolved, the gold standard at $35 convertible went away and the IMF and Henry Kissinger came to power. Kissinger believed in Realpolitik which is usually used pejoratively as a term to imply politics imposed by means of physical violence, political extortion or economic suppression or to imply completely amoral politics aimed solely to achieve the goals by any means. Later, Reagan instituted his policy of peace through strength. This brought us 185 democracies into the IMF through extortion or Realpolitik and being the Godfather with our nation%u2019s dollars running up deficits, always knowing that the 185 countries of the IMF continue allowing the U.S. to freely spend as the rest of the world continues to pay US. But the killer is the enemy converting from petrodollars to petroeuros. That%u2019s when the war czar job opened.

"As you know, there were lots of huge marches around the country yesterday to protest the immigration laws. The marches had quite an impact on businesses. Restaurants had to close, construction sites had to shut down, the Yankees had to forfeit a game ... Do you realize that Americans are now doing the jobs that immigrants won't do because they're out protesting?"

Can you imagine what this joke of a president is doing to troop morale?
They know he has no reason for their being there, except maybe to keep Halliburton in the oil business.
They are not allowed to divulge the real reason they are dying.
Then this idiot tries to get someone else to take responsibility for all the lies he has given this nation for his schemes in the desert...
PUKE!

"Is it that voter fraud isn't serious enough to talk about? Or is it that this article would show the Republicans in a positive light while questioning Democrats' motivations and conclusions on addressing this problem?
Posted by blazercoach1"

Or vice versa - Republicans have been harping about widespread Democratic voter fraud for years, yet when prosecutors and various experts have looked into the issue, they've found very little evidence of "widespread voter fraud". As the article above says "But the original version of the report, which was obtained by the Times, said that most experts felt there was "little polling place fraud." Which is odd, considering that its so supposedly "widespread".

Once again, when this administration doesn't like a study's conclusions, they change them to fit their partisan political needs.

This doesn't mean there is NO voter fraud at all - just that Republican claims of this are overblown.

And one other thing, critics aren't charging that the US Attorneys "were dismissed for failing to aggressively pursue voter fraud cases" but rather for failing to aggressively pursue fraudulant voter fraud cases - ie., refusing to gin up investigations, without merit, and manufacture controversy that would effect tight elections in swing states. That's the whole issue in a nutshell.

Since before our own US-led illegal and immoral invasion and now occupation of Iraq, I've been asking several simple questions:

o Where has the threat been to justify so many lives lost and money spent?

o Where was the "last resort" that Bush talked about?

o Is there a poll of the parents and families of those killed and permanently injured?

o What about the Iraqis themselves that have long since been rioting in the street in protest of this war?

o Yes, I agree there are many terrorists in Iraq...where there weren4t before the invasion.

I don't think people understand what the job entails. Since the breakup of the Soviet Union, the Eastern Bloc countries have all been admitted into NATO. When Saadam Husein openly declared his intention to sell Iraqi oil, not in petrodollars, but in petroeuros in 2000, then Rumsfeld appointed Wolfowitz the war Czr. And the war began. The carrier group outside of Iran are there dor numerous reasons. One is Iran has started trading oil not in petrodollars but in a basketfull of currencies including gold; but most importantly, Putin believes as do many that Bush will try and dismantle Russia and gain access to Eurasia and thus really be the hegemon. It's really do or die for Bush. Because of the IMF debt of the U.S. and the giant trade deficit, the dollar could collapse and become worthless if Iran and Russia and the other powers fight back, as they seem to be doing.

However, I do disagree that he's screwed up EVERYTHING in his life. The Rangers were pretty good under his ownership, if I remember right... :)
