1-in-8? Well, if my stock options come to fruition, I suppose that I can always pay someone to do my thinking for me. What''s truly worrisome is that my libido will fail me.

Prevention is not on the medical Community agenda, they look forward to this Financial Gold Mine. Everyone should read "Death by Modern Medicine" by Dr. Dean.

Actually, prevention works for them in this situation...get a person to start preventative prescription medication at 50 or so and keep them on it for the rest of their lives. That fits the prescription drug industry''s business model nicely.

I guess we''re all just living too long. What''s the point of living to be 100 if the last 20 years are spent in diapers not knowing who anyone is? It''s not the length of life that counts, it''s the quality of that life. When you''re ability to enjoy living is gone, you are dead, even if your heart is still beating. Having seen the mental degeneration that comes from Alzheimer''s, I have no plans to hang around if the disease hits me and there is still no cure. I refuse to be a burden on my friends or family. I live the way I like now. If my lifestyle kills me before I hit 70, so be it. At least I''ll know I''ve enjoyed the time I had.

Other psychology tests show that elders become sufficiently concerned about recall, that they become concerned over memory lapses no greater than those experienced by other age groups, even teens.

DON''T EAT BEEF. There are some studies showing that mad cow disease can show no signs until 10-30 years after infection. Other studies suggest mad cow is misdiagnosed as alzheimer''s.
