"It''s the economy, stupid!"

The final debate is one week away and the focus will be on domestic and foreign economic policies. During the last two debates, the candidates were confined to very short time frames to hit on many questions being fired by the moderators. In the end, we as voters, only heard talking points and quick stump speeches. This election is too important for voters to simply get rhetoric; it is time for true debating to begin. We ought to have the candidates debate for ten minutes a piece on the issues impacting our economy, with opportunities for two series of five minute rebuttals.
Undecided voters--do you think this will help draw real substance from the candidates or repetitive talking points?

A President can not do the job alone. I was watching for the VP choices to see which one could put together an effective team. Obama made a great choice. McCain didn''t quite think it over long enough before he mad the wrong choice.
This along with Obama''s flexible intellect make him a good choice for Prez. We can hope he will know where to go for creative ideas.

I ran out of room! Real quick Katie, we need to build this great country up and leave a great country to our children. If I was a kid today I''d have to be saying to myself?? What the Heck are you people doing? Get it together! We can! But not one candidate today has spoken of how they are going to fix our country? I don''t know about anyone else but I fell asleep a couple of times during last nights same old song from both parties! I like both of them but they aren''t willing to think outside the box on anything and we need change? We don''t need the past eight years or the past 16, 24,48, etc... We need a leader who will protect our troops all around the world and take care of business right here at home! This president did not! Thank you and God Bless America!

How could anybody vote for:
A man who leaves his wife who was severely disabled in a car accident for a much younger woman?

A man whose wife stole money from her own charity to buy RX drugs?

A man who uses smear attacks to fuel his campaign instead of verbalizing his policy to save America from economic peril?

A man who at one moment says the economy is "fundamentally strong, then a few hours later say we are in an economic crisis?

A man who calls one man elitist who owns one home, yet he owns 13?

A man whose wife wears a $300,000 outfit while again talking about elitism?

A man who does not support equal pay for women?

A man who would actually eliminate Medicare and give $5,000 tax credits in one hand and tax the credits in another?

A presidential ticket when the VP can''t recite as a journalism major, what magazines she has read?

A presidential ticket when the VP attended four colleges before graduating?

A VP who is educationally bankrupt and intellectually in the deficit?

A VP whose pastor demonizes others?

A VP who wantonly shoots and kill animals for sport. She is no better than Michael Vicks.

A "CHRISTIAN WOMAN", who laughs as someone in the audience yells, "KILL HIM!"

A VP whose husband recently supported the secession of Alaska from the U.S.?

A V.P. who is involved in a scandal "Troopergate who refuses to come clean and testify?

A V.P who is by any means necessary as unable to lead the country?

How Could?

If you ask me Katie - They both need new advisors here''s the reason why? Our president wants to give the same institutions that ruined us 700 billion dollars. This is stupid! I''m not a real political man and I watch CNN but I''m not sure I can tell you the difference between Iraq and Iran? Here''s what I can tell you. We have to rebuild a sound financial market. Sounds easy enough? We need to get these people that ripped us all off out of the system and replace them with hard working honest business men and women. It seems to me that if we would wipe off every forclosure off the credit of the people that took it in the shorts through all this you would open up a new way for people to buy properties the real way. Full Docs. They can either afford the home or they can''t! If they can let them buy again and there you have the housing market begin to get stronger. By these practises of the financial institutions in this country they should be more then willing to write off one forclosure on the US citizens credit. It would start to rebuild. But will they... No because they are so satuck on the practises of 100 years ago no one can think outside the box. Erase some bad credit for good people and you won''t need the 700 Billion from the American Tax Payer. Thank you

Billy For President!

I think we may all be losers...I have lost respect for so many people during this campaign...and I have lost sight of the Americans that were here with me. Those are the Americans that would be OUTRAGED if a VP or Presidential candidate incited a rallying crowd to the point of shouting "Kill him!", referring to the candidates'' opponent. Even more, when the candidates smile and cheer them on!! No one has said a word...not one person!! Where are the Americans that will not stand for this type of terrorism? Overseas...giving their lives to help a foreign country free themselves from exactly what is happening here.

Katie,

Just saw your on the street footage at TMZ and youtube. You are no walter cronkite and never will be....he would never compromise journalistic ethics and integrity by making very unprofessional commments such as you made about Sarah Palin. Back to the today show with you, if they would have you that is...your ratings are poor for a reason...

Why does the Media think our President should be like Jesus Christ? I want a Rough-Tough President that sleeps next to the "Red Phone" and will Vaporize our enemies.

Mr. Obama should tell America why he does not recite the Pledge of Alligence and does not honor the Flag during the playing of our National Anthem.

NO I have not been watching the debates. I hate to watch people lie on live TV.

I have been watching the news, when they talk about reality checks on statements made by the candidates. Seems everyone stretches the truth, donkeys and elepants. So many statements made that sound so convincing on both sides, that it seems I should vote for all of them. The truth is, you probably already know, is somewhere in the middle. But at the time of the debates really I have no idea if what they are saying is the truth(whole).

I will also tell you I am amazed when the media expect us to believe that the candidates really are experts or really knowledgeable about all subjects. I want to say c''mon, does either candidate really understand the economics of the mess were in. Heck the so called experts don''t really know what to do.

All Presidents and candidates have ''advisors'' who are experts in economics, the environment, military issues, foreign policy, diplomacy, commerce, legal issues , health care, etc.

So when the candidates start talking issues, the answers don''t come from the candidate, they come from his advisors.

In busness school, they say, the way to make money is to spend money. I am an undecided voter. I am leaning towards Obama, but, I really have a question for both candidates. If you get voted as president, I would like to know how you will get Congress to back your bill? This is the most important part of being President, is getting along with your fellow people, working together to make the world safer and stronger.

I worked in 1 of my daughter''s kindergarten class rooms today. After all the parent volunteers were finished we stopped and spoke in the lobby of the school. The subject of the debate came up as did Ms. Couric and this news (if you can call it that)network. All of us were fuming at the slanted, partiality that each of you show. It is so predictable and naseauting and in no way shape or form can any of you be considered news journalist. We should not be able to tell your political choice. Your opinions mean nothing b/c you are so 1 sided and therefore there is no validity or substance to anything that comes out of Couric or any other of your liberal robot''s mouths. We,"the American people", are so sick of the liberal media! Listen and WAKE UP! We are all calling to request a Nielson box and have all decided to keep Fox NEWS on 24/7. Grow up and do some real reporting!

The undecided voters in the town hall and on the web cast were an interesting group. Not in a complimentary way. But I think they''re undecided because they understand they were hoodwinked: they bought 8 years of lies about the war, trickle-down prosperity, etc., and the country''s in a mess. BUT. The specifics they want don''t exist. No one can answer the questions they want answered--the candidates could be Nostradamus & they still wouldn''t be satisfied. No, these scared undecideds are going to have pick based on something else: who''s got a vision for working together? who would you follow? It''s that simple.
