Couric was very respectful and professional during this interview. We should not lower the bar for a VP candidate because she is a woman. That is sexist and insulting to women everywhere. She should be expected to be able to answer clearly articulated and thoughtful questions regarding our nation directly and in an intelligent fashion. She clearly was not able to do that. Palin was out matched because Couric knows more about the issues than Palin. That was clear from her inarticulate and rambling responses that didn''t even answer the questions asked. The only degrading aspect of this interview was how absolutely uninformed, unprepared, and ill equipped this woman is to serve in any federal office, much less that of the VP. I am a woman and I am insulted that people think she should be coddled or held to a lower standard. She is running for office and should be given the same treatment by everyone (voters, media, opponents) as a male candidate. I am likewise insulted that McCain thinks that women are not intelligent enough not to consider the issues and the candidates qualifications and would blindly support a woman simply because of her gender. No wonder they won''t let her talk to the press. I say "thanks but no thanks" to the Gov. of Alaska. Alaska can keep her just like they kept the huge sum of federal dollars for that bridge to nowhere. If she winds up in the White House that is exactly where this country will go...nowhere.

And, I say thank you Katie Couric because there are SO many more women that will vote for Sarah after seeing how degrading you were to her...she and McCain deserve SO much more from the media.

Dear Katie Couric,

I have to say Thank You - for providing a great service to Americans by asking the tough questions. This was a unique situation where accusations of the ''gender card'' being played, could not be made for Governor Palin''s benefit.

Instead, you asked concrete questions about the Governor''s experience and general knowledge. Hopefully the American people will make a more informed decision come November based on the Governor''s responses to your questions.

I believe this gives a much better perspective, of how a Vice President Palin administration or - if the unthinkable occurred - how a President Sarah Palin administration would operate.

Thank you for doing an excellent job.

-A new fan

After reading these post''s, I agree with nzingasings...let it crash, people need to see what they''ve been electing for the last 75 years. If you''re a decent American then you believe people who don''t pay their bills go bankrupt. If your socialist then you believe the government should bail you out and let someone else pay for it. Remove your money for the system, buy hard assests and watch the show. Both parties are idiots for trying to boost up a failed system. Your poor children will be standing in bread lines....maybe you soon!

Katie,
Ask Palin why she supports the slaughter of wolves and bears in Alaska? She is not so eco friendly.

I heard an interesting statement yesterday...that "this election year is the year that journalism died in America". Katie Couric should be ashamed of this interview. Her posture, facial expressions, and onesided questions exude nothing but hate and distain. The media namely NBC and CBS have done nothing but attack Sarah Palin and John McCain. This interview is just one more example of the quote I began with. Shame, Shame, Shame !!!!!

Anyone who watched this interview knows that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be VP,the more she speaks it becomes more apparent,no wonder their campaign have kept her from doing interviews, shame on Mccain for picking her and shame on her for letting him use her as a pawn. The more she talks, the more he''ll drop in the polls,Romney right now would be HUGE for Mccain, shame, shame, shame !

If an interviewee is composed; has knowledge of the subject; can present supporting facts; and can speak coherently without faltering, no interviewer can make him or her look inept. Don''t blame the interviewer for Sarah Palin''s lack of all the above.
