***. IS THIS STILL AMERICA SHAME ON ALL U REPORTERS WHO REFUSE TO BE REAL.. I HAVE A DEGREE IN JOURNALISM BUT LEFT THE INDUSTRY IN 1991 BECAUSE IT WAS OBVIOUS TOO ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION THAT OUR MEDIA IS NO LONGER INTERESTED IN PROVIDING INFORMASTION FOR CRITICAL THINKING CITIZENS.WE HAVE OUTRIGHT LYING GOING ON AND NO MEDIA (UNAFRAID OF BEING DEMOTED OR FIRED)DEMANDED TIME WITH ALL THOSE RUNNING FOR OFFICE. I WAS ALSO AN EMPLOYEE OF A BANK IN CHICAGO IN 1985 AND I REMEMBER THE ATTITUDE REGARDING THE COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT. IF REGAN MEANT FOR POOR AMERICANS TO PULL THEMSELVES UP BY BOOTSTRAPS THESE FINANCIAL WIZARDS SHOULD BE JUST FINE WITHOUT OUR MONEY. THE SMALL BLACK BUSINESS HAS HAD TO EXIST WITHOUT CREDIT. BLACK FAMILIES HAVE EXISTED WITHOUT GENERATIONAL WEALTH OR STOCK MARKET TRAINING FOR THE LITTLE ONES. MY VOTE IS TO LET IT CRASH AND WE CAN ALL START OVER JUST LIKE BLACK FAMILIES HAVE BEEN DOING FOR DECADES.

Sarah Palin is unqualified to be VP, let alone President. She also makes GW sound articulate. Shame on McCain for setting the bar so low.

Sarah Palin is completely unqualified for VP. She can''t answer questions accurately. Is this not a serious problem? She is the one who said: "I''m ready to serve" and "go ahead and stump the candidate". Well she is being asked the questions by seasoned journalists and is unable to answer appropriately. Stop blaming the media and look at the real problem: Palin. She can only muster up answers that were fed to her in her "Intro to VP101" class. Katie Couric did her job well. It''s Palin who has been in vocal hiding (photo ops OK). The country needs to know what candidate Palin is all about and the answer is not good.

Katie''s interview was the first interview I have seen that actually put the republicans to task for their claims that they have been making with lack of facts.
It was very apparent that Governor Palin was spinning the party line and was not able to backup her statements with facts, just continued to side step (awkwardly) the questions and end up with a "I will find out that information and bring it right back to you! " Heck she is running mate and does not know McCain''s record??? Apparently not.
McCain has not been nothing but a staunch supporter of Bush and his policies and now he is finding himself having to pull the wool over others in order to get into the white house. Wake up people! His Change is not the working peoples change!

Keeping Palin under wraps & away from media apparently has been, based on this interview, a good strategic move! She can hardly string an intelligent sentence together.

Now, postpone the debate? In a game, which side calls time out? The side that needs to regroup, the ones who hope to break the momentum of the other side!

Feels pretty desperate to me...

Wow - she''s even more unintelligent than I thought. No wonder it took her 5 (6?) colleges to get a degree.

I can understand now why John McCain has kept Palin away from the Real Reporters,it''s because they would treat her like a politian and not some flower ready to break. The last time reporters from Alaska could speak to Palin was Aug 30.Why isn''t it brought out about Palin''s churh like it was about Obamas? What I saw her church talks about witches.
I think Katie kept tip toe because she''s afraid ''if'' (hopefully not)
McCain gets to Washington then they will give Katie 1st choice for interviews.Sarah Palin should be treated just like any other canadidate. If Palin doesn''t want to talk to all reporters then ALL the reporters in the news etc shouldn''t give McCain the time of day.
Sorry Katie but this was NOT a REAL INTERVIEW

Just give Fox more viewers!
Katie Couric''s obvious look of contempt when interviewing Sara Palin was as obvious as her adoring eyes for Obama. I thought she was going to drop down and take care of him right during the interview.
Being a middle of the road voter, this is insulting, and the American people see it.
The media backlash will help the Republicans again win the White House. The more I see of this, the more I am pushed toward McCain/Palin. I don''t like being "told" who to vote for.

WOW IT REALLY SUPRISES ME TO SEE THE MIND SET IN OUR COUNTRY IS BASED OFF FEAR AND MISS DIRECTOIN. THE OLD FASHION WAY OF NOT THINKING AND QUETIONING THOSE THAT WE THE PEOPLE HAVE CHOOSEN TO POSSBLE REPRESENT US ON THE NATIONAL STAGE,I''M VERY CONCERN THAT MY FELLOW AMERICANS WOULD RATHER BE DOUBLE TALK AND BE TOLD TO BAIL THOSE OUT THAT HAVE MORE THAT ANY OF US OR OUR CHILDREN CHILDREN WILL EVERY SEE IN THEERE LIFE TIME. SO LETS NOT HELP ORDINARY AMERICANS WHO WERE VICTIMS OF BAD MORTGAGE LOANS AND BAIL THEM OUT BUT LETS BAIL OUT WALL STREET SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO HAVE MORE. SO LET''S NOT ASK OUR POTENTIAL VPS THE HARD QUESTION.

Katie should of asked her about the investigation of Ms. Palin on ethics violations in Alaska. Or she could of asked her about the new investigation of Ms. Palin on whitness tampering.

Palin is frighteningly ludicrous. There are very few examples of a comprehensive and complete sentence from here, much less any statement that contained anything of merit.

It was appalling that the interviewer, Katie, was infinitely more well-spoken, poised, informed and intelligent than this candidate for the Vice-Presidency of our nation.

Regardless of the opinion one might have of Katie herself, she is NOT responsible for Palin''s statements, or the content of those statements. Her inability to speak well, speak intelligently, or to be able to "think on her toes" weighs squarely on her own shoulders. It is HER responsibility to represent herself, and her party, well. And she did not do this.

Katie I wanted a reason to come back to CBS Evening News, and you failed the test.

Again, proof why Palin should not give the media the time of day. Another anchor looking down her nose and giving hateful looks. OMG - is there no shame on CBS, ABC, or NBC. Do they not know how foolish they look.

Katie did you drill Biden on Obama''s accomplishments? Did you ask Biden about Obama''s associations with Ayers, Wright, Auchi, Rezko, Jim Johnson, Raines, and the list goes on and on. NO! Biden didn''t know who was President in 1929, and thought FDR gave a speech on TV in 1929 - when he wasn''t even President. Katie was your reaction one of hate. NO. You all need to do something else - you all must be so full of hate that you are miserable.

How dare anyone critize Sarah Palin in this obvious bias and ridiculous interview.

Katie go back to your morning show gig.

Now we know why McCain''s campaign had sequestered Sarah Palin since the Republican convention, the woman is an imbecile. This interview was very painful to watch, I was embarrassed for her; what is astonishing is Palin''s inability to string together a single sentence that is intelligible. This says a lot about John McCain, the man is either cynical or total moron.

God help us all, it there were to win this election by chance!!!!

What a lameduck interview. Katie I am REALLY DISAAPOINTED. It is obvious that SARAH palin has no clue what is going on . She could not even elaborate on what John Mcain has accomplished on the economic front. And the worst part was that you seem to be going along with this . Cmon Katie, I expected more than this. You were one of the few interviews that she has given and you didnt push her in being specific on what she plans to do . We as voters need to know what she stands for, what she plans to do . She was talking the same thing over and over agin. You seemed to have proven the point why the republican campaign chose you for thsi interview.

Katie, do you have no integrity left after pandering for so long? You clearly put words in Sarah Palin''s mouth and then turned around and implied that Sarah Palin was stirring fear in our hearts with "her" words about a "Great Depression." If you can''t check your ego and your opinion at the door then don''t ask the questions. And please don''t underestimate our ability to see through you.

And for those chiding Katie for not asking the hard questions: I like Sarah Palin, and I agree. Ask her the hard questions. Ask her why she would possibly choose to work, Katie, instead of being at home with her children. Katie, why don''t you ask her how she could possibly handle a challenging job in politics after a career in TV. Ask her how it feels to have your ambition thwarted based on your looks.

And, Katie, you could also ask her why it is that 95% percent of blacks will vote Obama (muslim ties, terrorist ties) without thinking? Obama has made his entire way on handouts. More handouts is change? Is that helping our great country?

Why not ask Palin what she would do for ***/lesbians. Ask Palin how she would vote on abortion. Ask Palin how she will help our country. Stop telling us what you think Katie, we don''t care. You''re lucky you still have a job -- so do it.

clearly, Katie was "interviewing". This is what Couric does. She is not going to sit there sip some tea or coffee and have a neutral discussion. Katie is intelligent, asking all the right questions and Palin does what she does best, puppet McCain and talk about her inexperience and nonsense. Couric has real credentials, represents a lifetime of interviewing high profile people. Palin is joke, she only high profile because she McCain chose an idiot for his wing-girl. Sad story, this American election. we should all be sad.

Katie''s interview with Gov. Palin was overly Stoic. A contrast to her interview with Sen. Obama. It was obvious by her body language which side Katie is on.

Where''s the old Katie? The one who had more life and light. We miss her.
