Katie,

Please just read the news. If you did that maybe someone would actually start watching. The only reason I heard about what you wrote was due to a link that the Drudge Report provided.

Honestly, if global warming is happening great, I live in Florida and its been a cool the last couple of nights.

The %u201Cconsensus%u201D among paleological climatologist is that CO2 levels in the atmosphere FOLLOW global temperature rises, not cause them.

Get your facts straight.

You know it has been a very amusing few weeks with several conferences on the subject having to be cancelled because of major snow storms and such...Well then one day in the market I see the headlines at one of the rags and the checkout..Global Warming to bring about another biblical flood and destroy the earth...Dang you know the time I read the story of Noah and the flood the Good Lord told Noah he would never destroy the world like that again...Now who do I really believe in Al Bore or God...I think I'll go with God...

30 years ago, the scientific community warned aganist the arrival of the next ice age, using the same tired dire warnings -- if one were to imput weather data from a century ago, into the same computer models used to predict global warming, it cannot even accurately predict the weather patterns of the 20th century .
Many scientists who advocate this theory seek huge government grants, Al Gore says this is the greatest threat facing mankind, so where would terrorist obtaining a nuke or a dirty bomb set off in NY, rank on his list?

Sure other countries wants America to sign on, because in so doing, it would do something they can't, bring us down, last summer was suppose to be an even worse hurricane season than the year before- when the weather bureau can accurately predict the weather 2-4 weeks from now, maybe then I make listen to them.
One more thing, how many scientific theories have been debunked over the years ?
Isn't there a difference between consensus and fact ?
And if mankind causes changing weather patterns, what caused the first ice age and the big thaw ?
Gore a prophet ? okay, there have been many prophets throughout history,- who were later deemed FALSE ONES !!!
Even gore doesn't walk the talk, nd he isn't an expert and many experts whoelheartedly disagree with him !

CBS wonders why Katie's ratings are so low. Maybe because she is so blatantly left-leaning? Katie gives her opinion on the news, not the facts.

All of these arguments on Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) are interesting reading but really do not contribute much to resolving the issue.
There is only one basic question to settled on AGW, and that is:
"Does CO2 cause global warming?"
All of the other pros and cons are ir-relative, if the answer is NO. This is the default answer and there is no crisis if the answer is NO.
If the answer is YES, than the Global Warming alarmists must provide us with some factual scientific evidence or past historical evidence that AGW caused or led to subsequent Global Warming.
There is no such evidence. Computer models are not factual evidence.

Sorry,Katie, but not ONE person has stated officially just what the consensus is, or who contributed to the consensus.

I have news for you. Science does NOT deal in consensus.

Consensus -at best- is compromise.

Unfortunately, science can't deal in consensus. Science deals with only 2 things:

Fact & Theory.

If science can't agree on something to being a fact (something beyone irrefutible proof) then science is left with only one other conclusion:

Theory !!

Triumphant return? refusing to do what he tells all of us we should do?

Katie, do you also believe Napolean was triumphant at Waterloo?

Katie seems to be like a lot of other people these days who believe that if they think that something is true, and they believe it passionately, it MUST be true. (Also see: Moral Relativism.) Truth is what they choose to believe. They seem to believe that consensus is the same as facts. That scientists who do NOT agree with the "Global Warming bandwagon" deserve to be discredited and ignored.

Why is TRUTH such a distasteful word to so many people, including Ms. Couric?

I guess it's fitting that she blogs about something she believes in. Imagine that - a NEWS reporter expressing a personal opinion through what they say and what they don't say about an issue!
