- This is why I will never be listening to Katie Couric for any reason. Her condescending tone is nauseating. She is attempting to marginalize those that even question the devotion of an absurd amount of resources and money to a problem that may not exist, may not be solvable, or may not even have serious consequences by making us appear petty and partisan. Far from standing out as a thoughtful, compassionate, and fresh voice in news, she instead disappears in the sea of media opinion that we are being beat over the head to death with.

- Hard to believe the network that gave us Cronkite, Serveride, and Kuralt continues to give us this tripe.
Al Gore is a so transparent only a fool would trust him. - Reply to this comment
- Katie -- While there is a rough scientific consensus that the Earth has warmed about 1 degree over the last hundred years, the consensus ends there. It is false to say that there is consensus on: 1) the role of human industrial development; 2)the future pace of change and its consequences; 3) (and most importantly) the best means to avoid negative consequences.
A draconian Kyoto-style regime would lead to a global recession (or worse), and would cause much greater suffering (more immediately and more predictably) around the world than an additional 1 degree of warming. Moreover, such an economic burden would impede technological progress that is the most reliable solution to any problem. Remember the first rule of medicine: First, do no harm. - Reply to this comment
- Katie, a consensus can only be reached when there is an agreement by the members of a group as a whole.
There is no consensus on global warming. Al Gore is a modern day political buffoon who has never gotten over the fact that he lost in 2000. He wastes massive amounts of energy while utilizing his private jet to transport himself while he preaches his false prophecy, while he demands of his followers to ride a bike, walk to work, use flourescent bulbs, and stop farting.
In summary, Al Gore is a textbook Liberal Loon. - Reply to this comment
- You must be kidding! Are you blind and deaf? While the Dems wanted it to seem like a coronation, the fact is it was more of the same. Lean on facts and long on politics. Scientific consensus? Are you living in a cave? Have you been reading the news lately? Aren't you in the news business? There are more and more skeptic scientists coming forward every day. And the guy who said the White House suppressed him was actually making 1,400 appearances to offer his opinion. Another reason no one is watching you or taking you seriously, Katie. Shame on you!

- Of course, liberals use film as a basis for all their science and thought processes. Fahrenheit 9/11 told them all Bush was a liar. AIT tells them that the planet is doomed. Borat tells them how to use the toilet. Jim Cramer tells them how to defraud investors. Dan Rather teaches them all about documents and authenticating them.
I just don't know how to fit Star Wars in this, but I am sure someone with a larger brain than mine can figure that one out. - Reply to this comment
- It seems to be human nature for people to accept a lie because they want to believe it%u2019s true. Rather than finding the actual truth, people are deceived on a daily basis simply because they want to believe that what they are hearing is fact. One such belief is global warming. People on both sides of the issue cling to and regurgitate the snippets heard on the nightly news broadcasts as if it were ironclad evidence in favor of their view. No matter what anyone%u2019s view is of this ongoing debate, there are two glaring problems with the research conducted in the name of global warming, and they are the same problems that seem to meddle in everything else that is important: money and politics. The fact that former vice president and one-time presidential candidate Al Gore is leading the global warming charge has again reaffirmed that this issue has been removed from the realm of science and dragged into the arena of politics. Because the ramifications of this issue have the potential to effect us all in ways we probably have not begun to understand, both environmentally and economically, it needs to be solely in the hands of scientists not funded by political interest groups with agendas.

- Wrong. Liberal cavemen would be telling us that water is evil and that we must all refrain from consuming it as it creats a byproduct, urine, that has been linked to killing the radish plant outside the cave. Thus, all life on the planet is at risk from our urine!!! Oh no!!!

- If these were caveman times, conservative cavemen would be rallying to keep up the practice of getting drinking water downstream from where they 'go toilet' as Borat would put it.

- Katie Couric has as much credibility as a fence post. Here's hoping she moves on to more cogent subjects.
