- If the Left were as bright as they believe themselves to be, they'd step out of their small secluded universe of nonsense, just to see what they're missing. I'm not holding my breath, or believing that will occur anytime soon.
Here's a great quote on this topic by William M. Gray PhD, Chief Scientist and Professor Emeritus of Atmospheric Science, Department of Tropical Meteorology, Colorado State University, Department of Atmospheric Sciences:
"Most of the strong advocates of human-induced global warming appear to be too personally invested in global warming both from a scientific and a career perspective. They cannot (and will not) back away from their unrealistic warming ideas. It appears that only a new set of climate researchers who are not already committed to the warming straight-jacket will be able to render an objective assessment of human influence on climate." - Reply to this comment

- You are right the left has changed three people in my family to look harder at gores movie to find history or science cannot be found there.
Two of them live in calif so you would think they would be all for these things that take away our freedoms but they don't.
The other one has a tree and lawn business he now will be fighting where he lives for epa cutoffs on his tools of the trade.
So keep up the good work you make people see you for what you are. GOD BLESS AMERICA - Reply to this comment
- When Leo DiCaprio called Algore "inspirational" I nearly fell off the couch laughing. I've seen burnt toast that was more inspiring.

- Couric and Gore say... "Let them eat cake!"
Catie, I think your comments are typical of the disingenuous and patronizing opionions coming from the hollywood and media elite on the subject of global warming.
For me, it's a a montage of intermingled and aggravating topics.
First, scientists DO NOT agree on this subject. Your hyperbole is offensive to the intellect of average Joe in this great country (attested to by 90+% of the comments on this site). There is substantial, fact based, scientific opposition to the new global warming politicos.
Secondly, you (along with Gore, Edwards, and 99% of other policitians and elites) are part of the modern day American Aristocracy. Your 'do as I say, not as I do' mantra falls on deaf ears.
I dare you to post your 'carbon footprint' for everyone to see. What is your utility bill? What is your annual fuel usage for transportation? I suspect you live a similar life as Al Gore. Living in a mansion? Lecturing the average American about their 'carbon footprint'? Yep. Aristocracy... "Let them eat cake" - Reply to this comment
- "Why don't you ask Al Gore about why his electric bill is 20X more than the average U.S. Home Owner." from opus63
I won't begrudge anyone his gadgets. Heaven knows I have my share and the kinds of toys we treat ourselves to (HD TVs, home networks, and video games of every shape and size which are left on because our children don't want to be inconvenienced by restarting the game). I think the real issue is that we simply don't have enough information (as I tried to state in an earlier post). Heaven help us all if government tries to solve a problem when it doesn't understand the issues (stop laughing).
Let us all agree that if it turns out that global warming is a real issue that we do something about it. Let us also agree that if it turns out to be a non-issue, that we let it die. Al Gore's documentary is not "proof" that there is an issue, but it might be a start. - Reply to this comment

I believe Jayson Blair;
I believe in Tailwind;
I believe No Gun Ri (even if the main witness wasn't there);
I believe Dan Rather's fake-but-accurate Tex ANG memos, that's what I watch him every night;

- It is Interesting that you use the sainted spotted owl as an example of noble scientific "consensus" verses evil moneygrubbers. Obviously, you and 200MM other Americans never heard the rest of that story. Sadly, the truth didn't fit the liberal agenda and was therefore not broadly covered. The decline of the spotted owl is being caused by the invasion of a far more efficient predator, the Eastern Barred Owl, not the loss their noble forest primeval. I only saw one article on the results of further study. It was in the Seattle Times on August 10, 2005. "Prospects bleak for spotted owl" By DAVID AMMONS
Quote "The barred owls migrated to the West from the Great Plains and prey on the food of the smaller birds, push them out of nesting areas, mate with them and even kill them. Their numbers are exploding, displacing spotted owls, which are in a steep decline, experts told the panel."
Moneygrubbers 1, Scientific "Consensus" 0.
