- I'm GLAD that CBS aired that! That's what FREE SPEECH is about. That's what makes this the USA.
All Liberals are such hypocrites, you preach tolerance, but when some one has a different view than what you think, you immediately get NASTY. Now that's Repugnant and who's narrow minded and ignorant! - Reply to this comment
- The problem is that God has been taken out of God. It has been replaced with some notion that what I beleive is right and what you beleive is wrong. No matter which end you are coming from. When you dismiss the lessons of the Bible, and succom to survival of the fittest, that's a mistake. When you quote the Bible as fact over evolution because of the lack of evolutionary evidence, where is the evidence that the Bible is the direct word of God. If so, why are there so many different version of the Bible? The drop in religous participation is because more and more, its a "you with us or against us" proposition.

- I just found out how to get on this site, so my comments are late.
I really become angry when I hear someone talking about "Christian Values," because most of the time they mean you can stop thinking when this is what you profess. We have minds that are supposed to sift through all the cliches and homilies.I woould rather have honest debate to lead to a conclusion than this ancient route map which the True Believers don't seem to want to update. - Reply to this comment
- Bobgee_1999's response is a classic example of an S/P attempting to force his views by using insults and condenscending tones. What is "so obvious", Bob, is that you cannot win a debate without getting personal.
Mr. Rohrbough and Ms. Sheehan have used the unfortunate deaths of their children to go into the public forum to express their views and plead for change. When one reads between the lines and see what Mr. Rohrbough is trying to say, one may be able to understand and relate to his message, which is the decline of moral values in this country. It isn't about evolution or abortion, it is what these 2 never ending controversies represent: No purpose, and no accountability. - Reply to this comment

""This country and religion are separate entities. Get used to it."" POSTED BY TALSIAN
So your saying that we should get used to how bad things are getting in this country and not stand up for it? That's just great!
I know, why don't we become more like Europe?!
I read an article yesterday in the Chicago Tribune about a Muslim cop living in Britain who refused to guard the Israeli Embassy there. He was given "special permission", since he was a Muslim, that he did not have to guard it. I thought he was a police officer, his duty was to serve his community. Separation of Church and State in Britain. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. - Reply to this comment
- I appreciate CBS allowing a "free speech" segment to be included in their programming. Would it be possible for them to do so without being derogatory in the process? I watch the news to get facts; not opinions. That's why I do not watch CBS news or Katie Couric.

- Mr. Rohrbough's viewpoint IS the one most commonly shared by most American citizens...and no amount of skewed polls and reporting can change the accuracy of this situation...and what's MORE: as science and technology advances (and more researchers and other scientists of every discipline ponder these subjects and the evidence ever more deeply), this viewpoint is becoming MORE PREVALENT.
CBS News - you are fast becoming way behind the times! - Reply to this comment

- Just a response to the post about Mr. Rohrbough.
1. Free speech and Opinions are our rights as Americans.
PRO-abortion :It is OK to murder defenceless children?
PRO-Evolution :You are proud of the possibility
that you evolved from a monkey?
PRO -prayer : Like it or not our country was built and made successful because of GOD and PRAYER
I, myself would rather have people like Mr. Rohrbough around me than Murders, Monkeys and Atheist people.
UNDERSTAND! IT IS MY OPINION AND MY RIGHT AS A VETERAN AND AMERICAIN TO EXPRESS MY BELEIFS! - Reply to this comment
- With all the conflict regarding Brian Rohrbough's comments, I find the comments that it has evoked from "liberals" proves yet again that liberals are just as close minded as the conservatives, probably more so, and much more hypocritical. The liberal party believes in free speech, as long as it agrees with their beliefs. It must be really difficult to be an enlightened (sarcasm) liberal, having to exist in a world with others who do not share their opinions.Katie Couric has once again made an a** out of herself, and because CBS has invested millions of dollars in her, they will stand behind her.

- Yo Huskerarmy...and I quote you, "You watch Fox specifically for the bias. And when it isn't biased, it's out and out fiction." Please... that is the MOST ridiculous statement, Fox came ein and filled a void, one of SOME sense of balance whetehr you can stomach that TRUTH or not! Every, I REPEAT EVERY Story AT LEAST OFFERS the opposing side and comments. This little reality NEVER entered the minds of the jerks running our national media for some 40 years while they jammed us all hard with the accepted boomer losers mantra to "Challenge Authority". Well Fox actually decided to do that when 'Authority' went from being our government leaders (Kennedy, Johnson then Nixon) to the pathetic Liberal minds that have done ALL the EXACT same lying, cheating and stealing to make their riches but then act as if they are somehow Philantropic (Pitt and Jolie are philanthropic..that is about it)! Wake up, you are the partisan.

- I agree with those that say they just want the "news reported" without a politicial slant. The problem is our corrupt MSM is made up of 70-80% self described liberal Democrats who don't want other politicial points-of-view except for their own. This group has over the last serveral decades managed to contaminate millions of Americans through their propaganda. What America needs is "affirmative action programs" in our MSM, and colleges, where the reporters and journlist's reflect the politicial makeup of the country which is predominately religious and conservative. Bottom line is more and more Americans don't TRUST our MSM or their phony stories, doctored photos, and lying book deals. Americans watched for two year as our corrupt MSM and their pals the DEMS, drag Karl Rove through the mud for his crime of disclosing the name of Valarie Plame which we now know what a LIE. Where did that story go to? Where's Plame or her husband Wilson now???? Where's all the investigative reporting?? The MSM smears and defames people and then moves on............ sad day in America.

- "liberals today...scream "free speech" when they want to be heard, but then try to shut others up when they do not agree. It's okay if you have the same opinion as they do, but if you do not, you're put down, spit upon, told to shut up, called names, and labeled."
I was at Camp Casey with Cindy Sheehan. Even though we outnumbered the Bushies 20 to 1, it was they who called names, fired guns over our heads and ran down crosses in the dark of night. They called us every obscenity and still we turned our backs. I saw one man, veins buldging in his neck, face a hate filled red, repeatedly calling a Viet Nam vet, who'd lost his legs in battle, a "traitor." The proud veteran, dressed in fatigues, purple heart pinned to his chest, ignored the onslaught with his head held high. Still, the spectacle turned my stomach.
I believe it is more often the righties who hold hard absolute views, dichotomize in terms of good and evil and condemn others to hell and damnation for their political beliefs... - Reply to this comment
- "Gee, talk about being biased. CBS proves once again why America is switching by the millions to Fox News."
This is such an absurd statement that I hardly know where to begin. Why on earth would anyone switch to Fox because of bias? Provda was less biased. You watch Fox specifically for the bias. And when it isn't biased, it's out and out fiction. Fox is a mere shill for the GOP. Admittedly it is user friendly, dummied down and love those bright colors. And hey, if you don't have ay use for truth and accuracy, Fox is certainly the place for you... I only wish I could watch a liberal segment on Fox, as if they would have such a thing, latch on to one stupid word, take it completely out of context, and then rail on the proof (however fabricated) that Fox hates liberals, on their web site no less... - Reply to this comment
- I'm not a Ms. Couric fan yet but I have watched Mr. O'Rieley report on subjects/events that I have personally seen/experienced.. To say that he distorted the facts would be extremely kind..
When I watch the news I want just the facts.. I don't need some to tell me what I should think ..
FOX NEWS is owned by Mr. Ruperd Murdock (if i misspelled my apologies).. An Aussie who has paid large sums of money to congress to get the laws changed to his benefit.. His first & only concern is himself.. Mr. O'Rieley has a job expressing Mr. Murdock views .. They are not objective and never will be .. - Reply to this comment
- Of course, many do agree with Rohrbough%u2019s views, and we%u2019ve been hearing more and more from that side of the debate. (A lot of folks didn%u2019t know he was on until they saw other reports about it, so they%u2019re just joining the debate now.) Many expressed gratitude that the %u201Creal America%u201D was being heard. Some endorsed Rohrbough%u2019s opinions, a few passionately.
This writers own words confirm my earlier post. " A lot of folks didnt know he was on until they saw other reports about it". ( meaning Bill O'reilly) LOL
Does CBS get it yet???? - Reply to this comment
- It's obvious that the Commentator (initials B.O%u2019R) was right on the money. It's pretty sad when CBS won't even type his real name. They know he's killing them in the ratings and understandaably so. The segment free speech is a complete joke especailly if Katie gets to comment on it right before it's aired. Gee, talk about being biased. CBS proves once again why America is switching by the millions to Fox News.

- Just the fact that Katie & Company have discussed this 'Free Speech' segment shows their liberal bias. When Bob Schieffer was given not one...not two..but three segments to bash Bush and people questioned it..they chose not to respond. To them Mr. Schieffers thoughts are the way most of America thinks. Do you even think, one person in the CBS Newsroom said..hey do you think we are giving Bob too much time...don't think so.

- Wow, talk about a bunch of dinks missing the point. What is repugnant is that this guy is using the murder of little girls, not to mention his own son, to further his political agenda. Get it? Isn't this why so many of you despise Cindy Sheehan?
As for you anti-evolutionists; hey, maybe you DIDN'T evolve. This is a tired argument and can't be settled, as long as there are people who WANT or feel obligated to believe something. But I have read the Bible---have you read "Origin of Species"? Natural selection is so obvious, once you understand what it actually is, that educated people widely embrace it. If you find Darwin's style antiquated and difficult, that's still no excuse. Try Richard Dawkins's "Blind Watchmaker."
And incidentally, this whole stupid segment is based on something called "Social Darwinism," which is rationalized nonsense having nothing whatever to do with Charles Darwin's theory. It's a Straw Man argument, and anyone resorting to it in an attempt to discredit the theory of evolution is merely showing their ignorance. - Reply to this comment
