"And when you are educated and well-traveled, when you have spent time in other countries and experienced other cultures, when you have known people from every country and every religion, when you have long-known the difference between Iraq and Iran, well, it's hard NOT to feel like an "elitist" in the face of Christian fundamentalist who have never even crossed the Mason-Dixon line. I mean, these are people who are convinced that their government is superior to those of other countries, yet they have never even visited any other country and don't even know anyone from other countries!"

Shucks, what are we hicks to do?
As a Marine, I've probably urinated in more Countries than you can name, can fly anything with wings or a rotor AND graduated in the top 10 percintile of my class at 28.

We don't all drink moonshine and eat fried chicken down here.

Bandit's comments were so off base it's not even funny. We have major problems in our culture because we have NOT included God in our public schools.

What does Slavery have to do with the fact our country was founded on biblical foundations? A little liberal smokescreen there Bandit?

His correlation between education and liberal social/political positions prove the point exactly. Must be something wrong with their education & politics. (and there is something wrong with our education system.) Most liberals are educated beyond their intelligence.

Bingo, that's exactly why God put the embyro-baby in the womb for 9 months so it could grow and not die. You would not have survived either if some abortionist removed you from your mother's womb at that early stage. Aren't you glad they didn't!God never intended for us to murder our babies. Our world will find this out one day.

You may "feel" like an elitist but you are no better than anyone else because of your education or travel. Most people, who believe the Bible is absolutely the Word of God, have traveled further to their church house than you have in your travels around the world. If you get my meaning!

If not you will one day! Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord! You little ole elitist you!
Sorryforyou

I see Ms Couric is continuing the Dan Rather tradition @ CBS of using the first 15 minutes of every broadcast to slam the Republicans.

Ms Couric, your own biased opinion of events have no place in the national spotlight.
It's sad that you have sank to the level you have, you even look the part of a angry liberal witch now.

GOOD JOB!!

To include "God" in public school education is really anti-American. It goes against one of our founding values, the Separation of Church and State.

Sure, Christianity played a big role in the making of this country, but so did slavery.

Furthermore, as an RN I feel I must clarify these medical facts- most abortions in this country involve an "embryo", NOT a fetus or a baby. An embryo is not capable of survival outside the womb, it is not a baby. That is a scientific fact.

Lastly, has anyone stopped to think about WHY it is that the media is so "liberal"? Studies have shown a direct correlation between the education level of a person and where they stand on politics. Evidently, the more education a person receives, the more liberal they tend to become. THAT is why so many journalists are so liberal- because they are educated, well-traveled people.

And when you are educated and well-traveled, when you have spent time in other countries and experienced other cultures, when you have known people from every country and every religion, when you have long-known the difference between Iraq and Iran, well, it's hard NOT to feel like an "elitist" in the face of Christian fundamentalist who have never even crossed the Mason-Dixon line. I mean, these are people who are convinced that their government is superior to those of other countries, yet they have never even visited any other country and don't even know anyone from other countries!

The comments from Brian Rohrbough were the best I've heard in years. Those in the news media, and most television in general, claim to have such tolerance for everyone and everything. When it comes to those of us who believe in the Bible, that's where it ends. They call us names and make fun of us. We need God back in our schools and in
America in general. Our country was founded on Christian principles and has been great because of it. Thank you Mr. Rohrbough for your comments.

I agree with Brian Rohrbough's comments, and I thank CBS for allowing him to speak. The main problem is that after allowing him to speak, in numerous ways you demeaned him and discredited his comments and opinions. Both in the immediate response and Katie's "Free speech" statment, it is impled that no one agrees with Brian Rohrbough, when in fact, this is most likely NOT he case.

I am grateful to Rohrbough for his comment. He really has seen the truth being so directly involved. But let's not attack CBS or Katie-that won't change their mind or convice them of anything.

CBS, I commend you on airing the free speech segment with Mr Rohrbough. I know it is hard for the media to believe but most of us "regular folk" have beliefs closer to that of Mr Rohrbough than that of the media. Mr. Rohrbough spoke the concerns of my heart as well. I can't even begin to imagine the pain he has endured with the loss of his son.

I didn't see the interview the night it was broadcasted. I would never give the liberal, immoral views of Katie Couric or CBS News an audience. I did however see this story on The O'Reilly Factor and was not surprised. The liberal media and its viewers are blinded to the truth. They are blinded to the truth regarding abortion, religion, and pretty much anything considered moral. The left calls people like me a "right wing nut job." I call myself a person standing up for what it is right no matter what the cost is. Whether anyone wants to believe it or not, there is a right and a wrong. You will only see that what Mr. Rohrburg said is right if you have been saved and have Jesus living in you!!
I will never apologize for that.

Mr. Rohrbough has struck a nerve with half of this country. I appreciate his courage in the face of such a cruel and evil enviroment. People who try and silence, manipulate, or slander what he believes have a serious issue to deal with themselves. It obviously shows they do not believe in the fundamental aspects in which this country was founded upon. Why is that? Have they ever wondered that themselves? I agree with Mr. Rohrbough. His viewpoints not only explain what he believes personally, but also unveils the weakness with half of this nation. They have no foundation on which to stand together. If each person is their own absolute, then each person is their own country, not part of something bigger. This is also demonstrated by the "leftist" ideology... they cannot come together under one concept, except for the idea that the other side, the "right", is wrong. They lack one unified aspect to convince America as a whole to depend upon them. True, there will be times when they succeed, possibly, but not probably, even in the next month. But not because they are unified! NOT AT ALL! And thier victories are always short-lived, for the same reason. Half of this country is unified under one concept. If you do not know what that one concept is, I'm not going to tell you... use your own intellect and find it - just like I did. The answers are there, keep searching...

Wow I just heard about his and watched it am sooo totally shocked that CBS even had the guts to air this. But was delighted at the same time. Maybe there is still hope out there. I fully agree with everything Brian Rohrbough said.. I could not have said it better. The only thing that I read was Katie's comment that this was "repugant" Hmmm tends to lead me to view that she hasn't changed her view. for that I am truly sorry for her and her family... Might I refer you to watch "Pump the Volume". Kinda bring the reality home..

Not to mention that we as conseritves need to find our voices and start speaking out more.

Sincerly,
FrazzledHalo

It's amazing how many people fear opinions which are different from their own. They preach tolerance, but are blinded to their own intolerance of others; they hail the virtues of free speech, but only so long as the speech agrees with their own political, moral or religious beliefs. Why are we so arrogant to believe that any of us know the truth. I forget who said, "I'm hesitant to die for my beliefs, because I might be wrong".

Katie, are you surprised with the reaction to your comments by the father regarding the murder of his son in Colombine?
Does it surprise you and the people you work with how the huge majority of the REAL people of the United States feel??
Maybe if you and your ilk got out of your insulated, thought restricted cocoons and saw how the real people live and think you might actually be a good reporter of the News!

I felt that Mr. Rohrbough's views were well-reasoned, thoughtful, accurate, and consistent with the views of many people in Northwest Ohio. I applaud the network for allowing him to appear and express his views. I hope you look into the issue of whether the Columbine killers were motivated by the evoloutionary theory and wearing t-shirts saying "Natural Selection" at the time of the killing.

We lost control over America when men lost their places in the household. Women are no longer mothers and men are no longer the head of the household. Men are confused over their roles. Now, women have to have the same rights as men. Before women had he exact same rights as men, we didn't have the crime rates or dysfunctional children we have now!!

Mr. Rohrbough spoke for the majority of Americans. I'm extremely disappointed that Katie would lead with a negative rather than a positive comment. Perhaps CBS deserves her after all.

I was thrilled that CBS allowed Brian Rohrbough to speak from his heart. Free speech is what makes this country great! I find it repugnant that the far left are offended by someone giving their views on God and abortion, but will defend burning the American Flag.
