I heard on the radio a few weeks ago around the time you started your reign @CBS Evening News that you were looking for ideas on how to sign off @the end of the newscast. I say why not mix it up. Why get stuck in a rut with just one sign off? Why not sign off with an appropriate sign off depending on what the days news has brought forth? If the news on any given days has been more positive than negative then highlight that. If the day has had more negeative news than positive then try and find a silver lining and bring that to the forefront so that people can take away a glimmer of hope that all isn't lost. Just a thought. That is all for now. Take care, stay well and stay safe.

Katie,
Now that you will be doing stories about the Amish , please take a look at this website, www.prisonersofgreed.org, It is a terrible tragedy as to what happened, both maybe now the Amish will be exposed as to what they do to the poor dogs that are kept there for breeding purposes. When people go to pet stores to purchase a cute little puppy, they have no idea as to where they are coming from. The USDA governs puppy breeding now, but I don't believe anyone ever thought that people can be this cruel to the poor puppies. Please investigate this as I know that your team can do a very good job of it. Lancaster County is now one of the worst puppy mill areas, next to Missouri. Than you

I believe in free speech, it is one of our virtues. But to let someone preach his views on abortion, prayer in school, etc. when he should be directing his attention to the terrible killings is beyond belief. He lost a son. How terrible! I cannot fathom how he must feel. Instead of preaching about abortion - did he adopt a child? Help in a school?

I am thoroughly appalled by the insensitivity of the Amish tragedy broadcast and disgraceful use of the "free comment" section to become a pulpit for views on abortion and lack of church in the schools in government. I failed to see the link to the story - the father speaking didn't provide any insight into what the families or community involved was feeling - only tried to advance his clearly biased agenda. Isn't the news supposed to be objective?! I feel this presentation is throroughly inappropriate and will never watch this broadcast again.

Katie,

You don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about. Your interviews are always obviously choppy, apparently the result of extensive editing.

Why don't you go back to "Today" where you seemed charming and in control? You're in another country here, and it's not pleasant.

I would like to know, the voice that announces your show each evening: Is that the voice of Walter Cronkite?

Thank you Katie for your comments. I have always wondered why the most formal of news - 6:30pm is only 30 minutes- 20 minutes of real news- the rest ads? And the sad thing is all the networks are doing it. Why can't someone be different and make it an hour? Trust me - the network that dares to step out of the box will enjoy the ratings you all favor. Think about it.
