Hi Katie....So happy to see you again. You were missed. I admit I felt a bit hurt when it was anounced you were leaving Today, like one of the gang was "flat leaving" us, but of I am so thrilled for your success. You were on your mark last nite. I have to ask, were you nervous? If you were, you are human, like the rest of us. Which is why you are so loved. I will look forward to spending the evening with you Mon-Fri, as I did my mornings. (Which means no more Seinfeld at 6:30 on TBS, ya know!) Kudos to you sister! And Thank you for what you will do for our daughters. Peace!

Katie I am new to this blogging just like you but I am willing to dive in and see what happens. I was one of the unfortunate ones that set my Tivo to record your first News Anchor position and I couldn't wait to get home to watch it and it was not recorded I felt disappointed and I did not know why it failed until this morning when I read the explanation on the CBS web-site. I watched a lot of the free video available and I saw enough to know you did bring a fresh feel to the news and you made it very interesting. Keep up the great work.

Katie,

Finally, there is some sunshine in evening news. I thought your performance was new beginning for evening news. Who decided that our evenings can%u2019t be as bright as what our mornings were? That%u2019s what I find myself asking after reading some of the other blogs. When was it decided that our evening news had to come from a man in a dark suit with a slick back do? I believe your personality will draw a younger group while still appealing to dedicated evening news watchers. You make people, especially young people, care about what is going on in the world. Whether that%u2019s in the morning or in the evening, sparking that inquisitiveness in local and world affairs doesn%u2019t matter.

Thank you and good luck!

Hello

she should close the program with the following:

"Good night, and the world needs you."

Bye

Hello,
Broadcast One had my wife remarking that Katie must have had plastic surgery on her cheeks but I was impressed with Walter Cronkite's voiceover intro. It told me he respects her after all the years he was ignored by Dan Rather and CBSNews.Katie had good reports from Lara Logan and Steve Hartman and Anthony Mason. I am open to change with the broadcast and will withold judgement for a few weeks but seeing baby photos of a celebrity's baby is not my idea of news. I trust Katie will evolve the CBS Evening News into a broadcast not only her family is proud of but that Walter Cronkite is,too. All the best to her and everyone who has suffered through a year plus of waiting for Katie. Now,let's get back to the daily business of news production and how about a documentary or two down the road like CBS Reports once did. The signoff doesn't matter because no one can do better than Uncle Walter's. later, mark isenberg age 52 in neptune,nj

Ok. I admit it. I was leery. It started out a bit rough - a little tight. But, maybe tough news should be a little tight. The second half was certainly your element and your warmth brought most of us with an open mind right into the room with you. I love the free speech and snapshots segments %u2013 I hope they stick. Finally- in regards to your closing %u2013 just be true to yourself %u2013 it will come.

Great job, Katie!!!! It is great to see you at night. I have watched you on NBC with Matt for many many years and I think you are great. You are an inspiration to all women. I still love the Today show in the mornings, but I will definitely be supporting you on CBS in the evenings.

You go girl!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with everything Friedman said. My problem? He should be saying within the frame of Sunday morning pundit shows, radio or tv talk shows, even a special program based on the war. He took up time on the evening news which would have been better spent on the two one-liner stories which you so lightly skipped over.

Best analogy would be that I was hoping for meat and potatoes for the evening meal and got appetizers and petit fours instead. A person can't live on that.

Hey, Stevyz1....

You might not see Katie in a "serious" news role, but dude, if you want anyone to take YOUR posts seriously, mix in the spell check before you hit Publish!
