katie my whole family is routing for you. That's my 78 year old mom, my siter and my boys, ages 12,10 and 10.

As you came on yesterday i just started clapping, clapping, clapping. Tears filled my eyes just as if you were my sister. Now I know we are sisters! And today, I didn't cry this time but like magic I find myself clapping and cheering you on!

Good luck and remember your extended family is cheering you on!

your sister,
Marcia

Katie, great job last nite! I work in the public school system and especially enjoyed your Back to School thoughts. First day of school is more a time of renewal and resolutions than Jan. 1st. I think you should consider your first day very successful!

Well I watched this so called historic event last night and I must say I do think it was overhyped. I think Mrs. Couric did a good job in front of the camera but that's about it. I don't know if she does her own journalism or if others write her a script to read but it was half news and half "fluff". Maybe that's what the ratings tell CBS the American people want to watch but in my opinion the program last night didn't have much to do about actual news. There are more important things happening around the world besides Tom Cruise's baby.

Katie, be yourself, the person millions of Today Show viewers fell in love with. We love you because you teach us and our children about current events, while making us smile about the lighter ones and cry about the sad ones. May God Bless you and your family.

I have just written a respectful but critical review of Ms. Couric..and guess what: CBS has removed it. So much for free speech and free press huh?!!!!! Let's see how long this one lasts posted... keep an eye on this one.

Since I became a young widow many years ago, I decided to try and enjoy every day. I am sure Katie can relate and maybe her sign off should reflect living your life to the fullest. Something along the lines of: relax, smile and enjoy your life may be a good sign off.

Thanks for a very good impression on your first CBS evening. I am looking forward to your interview with the President. What I like about your interviewing style is your ability to ask tough questions without being rude! (unlike some interviewers!) I am counting on your continued professionalism.

I really liked someone's suggestion of "Be well, America." as your sign off. My personal preference is "God be with you", but I know you dare NOT mention God! Heaven Forbid!

My personal wish for you, Katie is "God's best to you". I really think you deserve His best.

Great broadcast last night! I am really glad you are back on the air! Since you left the Today show it has just not been the same.

As for the sign-off...what you said last night was PERFECT! It was just you being you, I wish more celebrities could be like that!
