I have not watched network news for 10+ years. Only CNN for news. You prompted me to try CBS news tonight just because you were on it. I hope you will continue to dialog on your blog outside of your news broadcast. I am a huge RockStar SuperNova fan. TV should no longer be a one-way experience.

Again congrats on a wonderful broadcast! Your definitely a news "Rock Star" thats for sure.

I'll give some thought to your "sign-off". Great way to end your broadcast tonight.

You did a great job! Always watched you on TODAY but never watched the evening news. Too boring and predictable and depressing. What clever ideas your team has brought in for the evening news!! Loved everything especially the free speach segment and the last part on the orphanage. Not all news is bad news! I wish you were on for an hour. See you tomorrow night.

Terrific!! This is the first time I felt positive and optimistic for the country and the world after watching a newscast in a long time. I feel if we spent half the money on improving lives around the world rather than killing people and destroying so much with needless wars, the whole world would gladly fall in line behind us and terrorism would probably end quickly. Please keep up the good work and perhaps we can change our image from fear, shock and awe to love, understanding, generosity and showing the world how "AWE-SOME" we can truly be. SO VERY Disappointed in Katy. Loved her on the AM show....what happened...outfit was too summery...the face too tense...and where was the cute and perky???? Also, did not like the opinion part, nor the commercial for Cruise and family!!! What is this??????

Good job Katie. I missed seeing you each morning when I get ready for work. My biggest fear was that I would not be able to watch you at 6:30. I made it today for your debut but I'm so happy that I can watch you deliver the news on the internet as well.

The news was refreshing. Be honest people, in today's 24/7 news world, no one expects to get all the news from one source. I like the format. And why does the whole female thing matter. And as for some, they will criticize anyone who dares to tell the news as it is. No regurgitation of "talking points". I'm sure the left and the right wingers are busy already at trying to discredit Katie. Let's Watch for a while, we might just hear something we have not already heard ten thousand times on fox and cnn.

Welcome to the evening news Katie. I haven't sat down to watch the evening news in a long time - only watched it tonight because I wanted to support you, a woman in the anchor chair. I'm not sure about my memory of my 25 year old civics class but the last time I checked, Freedom of Speech is a RIGHT !!!!! Not a privledge of citizens of these United States. How can she screw that one up ? I'm going to give the new format a chance but I have to be honest, Ms Couric's previous left leaning is certainly going to come to the forefront on a daily basis. I'm so looking forward to the mid-term elections. Will Katie be openly endorsing the left wing slate or just from an editorial stand point ?

I haven't watched the evening news in over 15 years - and tonight I really enjoyed !!! It was refreshing and the free speech segment was my favorite. It will be nice to hear from "regular people".

It's a first. Katie and the changes have compelled me to switch and more importantly watch the evening news again. Fabulous job on all counts. Exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to the sign off contest too.

I ignored my own advice and out of curiosity I tuned in. While I think Katie is an interesting person, I didn't see anything special. What I did see was the usual left leaning type of reporting that Dan Rather and Katie have demonstrated in the past. I'm not Republican or Democrat, just feed up.
