Credit card companies and banks are like the health care "industry". They are SO greedy and addicted to huge unearned profits that they will not let go no matter what. You will have to pry the greed from their cold dead hands.

This bill is a total JOKE with no rate caps. 36% interest and higher is outlandish loan sharking to people who have slipped once on a payment. The credit card companies can and will charge you whatever rate they feel like. How can that be legal? Simply unbelievable. I have heard of some cardholders being charged 41% and more. How are they EVER going to make good on their obligations with that kind of punitive rate? Huh? Once again, why is this legal? Even check cashing shops and pay day loans would blush at these rates.

More "feel good" fluff indeed! But it's not just the Democrats, it's all parties involved. The D@mn lobbyists own the government!

Of course they are not going to place a cap on what can be charged. To all the folks that thought that things were going to change, surprise!! Same old thing, just different faces to stick it to you. Imagine that, $410K in campaign contributions and we're going to ask our President to change something like this, how dare we do such a thing. Come to think of it, if you were to lend money and charge these types of rates, you would end up in state and federal prison, now isn't that a kick in the a*s. Way to go, Mr. President, way to go. Gas prices up, job losses at an all time high, wow, wonderful job, Sir.
