kassandrasdu . . . . pleeeeaaaaasssseeee! if you dont have an I.D. card in this country how can you get by? you need an i.d. to drive, to cash a check, to buy beer, to buy cigarettes, you even need an id to get into an r rated movie these days if you look too young. whats the bfd about having an id to vote? i think they should use a thumbprint to verify who you are, and then give you an unmarked ballot. once your thumbprint is in the system . . . you can''t vote twice. of course if you have something to hide . . . then i could see your not wanting to do it. but most everybody has been fingerprinted for something or another anyway . . . in my case the military . . . so its already in the system

HISTORICALLY, voter identification was done BEFORE election day, by the REGISTRAR of voters who reviewed each application as it came into office. Suddenly we need birth certificates, photo IDs and everyone is in a panic over voter fraud. BUT NO ONE IS DISCUSSING VOTER SUPPRESSION. I could care less about what the BBC reports. I expect every voter in this country to PROVE WHO THEY ARE for voting priviledge. Every time I walk in to vote I present verification of who I am. In this day and age of modernization there is no excuse for not getting your identification ready for an election. People had four years to get ready for this election and shame on them for not pursuing this along time ago. Also, the ELDERLY don''t have identification? Very pathetic, and if they can''t vote the blame lays squarely with them.

To vote, all that is needed is proof of identification, a very simple concept. The strange thing is the groups that fight this, and say it is suppression. How lame an arguement, simply put, if you want to vote prove who you are and make an effort to have that identification before you go.
