Comments on: Fake Soldiers Used In RNC Video
Patriotic Montage Shown At RNC Featured Actors Hired For One Day Shoot, Not Military
- Republicans HAVE to use fake soldiers...
REAL soldiers would not want to have anything to do with a Vice Presidential candidate that violates OPSEC and places the lives of the unit - and even of her own son - in jeopardy by telling al-Qaeda and the rest of the world that a juicy target like her son should arrive in Iraq on 9/11. - Reply to this comment
- So McCain took a line from China''s play book.
The only difference is China made it look good, McCain made it look boring! - Reply to this comment
- So what if it was staged? It was not a news commentary, it was a reinactment. And I can imagine what you would have done if they had actually used a real funeral. Egad. We can''t do anything right according to you.

- Obama is an actor too.

- What is the major news in the footage having some actors? I for one would not want my son%u2019s funeral taped, it is a private matter. But to instead use actors for such a segment to convey your ideas is a smart, unobtrusive idea. You can not tell me that every scene in an Obama clip is done without a staged scene. But CBS won''t check that because Obama is the media''s favorite child.
What we really need is for all the media to be neutral, non bias in its reporting and give us NEWS not tabloid digging tidbits. - Reply to this comment
- If it''s against DOD regs for servicemembers to appear in uniform, why did they happily show McCain in his uniform? And why do we routinely see them on the news/Comedy Central/Tonight show in uniform all the time?
I''m sure if Obama did a movie with fake soldiers, no one would have an unkind word... - Reply to this comment
- WHO WRITES THIS ***? Seriously, Mr. Rey, for an investigative reporter you BLEW THIS ONE!
It is against Department of Defense regulations for servicemembers to appear in uniform. - Reply to this comment
- all of life is a process of experienced people who know the lines to use teaching the younger folks what to say.
Politics is the same way. Let''s say you find a young person who tells you "I love America SO MUCH that I am going to dedicate my whole life to serving the USA" Wouldn''t you think that said person was a bit strange? So, fast forward 30 years or 50 years and find grown men fighting over how much they love the USA? It''s all ''spin'', says McLain, and I agree.
Time to stop drinking the Kool-Aid, America. Time to decide what YOU believe in and man the barricades until you get it. - Reply to this comment
- why is this news?
and CBS wonders why they are dead last in the ratings. - Reply to this comment
- Republican John McCain used the soldier actors to pull at America''s heart strings, but i fail to see what the footage, fake or not, has to do with any policy or plans for America, anyway!
Does anyone care what McCain plans to do with America?
He''s told us he''ll continue Bush''s economics, but what else does he plan?
Republicans like John McCain think all they have to do is get people feeling patriotic, and they''ll win votes. I have news for you...Obama/Biden and those who support them love this country too. Patriotism is not partisan and partisan is not patriotic.
So how about we have less of this empty and fake film footage, and more substance from McCain''s campaign? - Reply to this comment
- I am a Republican and I know that women and non-whites do not have any place in American politics. I will still vote McCain though, because choosing otherwise would be disasterous. We have been very successful in the last 8 years and I would not want to change that.

Non-whites? So according to historians, scientist and genetics no one would be left to run the country LOL! Seriously, I think this person just post to get a roust out of everyone.. - Reply to this comment
- Wouldn''t it be illegal to use real soldiers in a campaign? I don''t think that is what they are there for.

- THIS is flat out disgusting.

- What''s wrong with using actors in a movie? Heck the whole Republican party is a guild of actors. They can play their part as some one else writes their script.

- John McCain and his "Little Eskimo." Sure hope Cindy doesn''t catch on. On the other hand, she''d probably pay for the divorces.

- Is this the best you can do? Pretty lame, CBS!

- Ivet2, Thanks for your post. I had no idea Palin''s husband belonged to that hate America group, AIP! If Todd Palin hates America so much, what will Sarah do as President if something happened to McCain?
Its apauling that AIP was founded as a hate America Group and they hate USA so much they want Alaska to secede from America!
A governor should NOT give the opening address, via satelite, to a hate America group when that group has their annual Convention in that states capital?
I saw the video titled: "McCain''s ''Alaska First'' problem":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=7Re0vmbtHK8 where Gov. Palin gave opening address to that hate America group. She has NO BUSINESS in the White House neither does her "hateAmerica" HUSBAND!
I couldnt believe my ears-the AIP leader actually said, "we don''t say we''re Americans we say we''re Alaskans-when we talk about America kids in classrooms put their thumbs DOWN when we talk about Alaska our kids put their thumbs UP"
He actually said,"Sarah Palin was a member of AIP but to get along and go along she eventually switched to Republican"
As for the other video title:"what does a VP do"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=006a
xc2aELE where Palin admits she has NO CLUE what the job description for BP is. Newsweek just reported McCain Camp is sending Palin to Alaska "to educate her on policies."
I thought McCain said, "She IS ready" NOT IF THEY HAVE TO EDUCATE HER! Did Obama "Educate" Biden? NO! BIDEN IS READY! - Reply to this comment
- LIB''sare asking why Bush was not at the convention supporting McCain. once again they have a short memory. Gore avoided Clinton when he ran like a socially transmitted disease.

- Gee AmericBiker, I''m surprised anyone - including you - would want a VP and possible President of the United States being MARRIED TO a man who hates America so much that he wants his own state of Alaska to secede from the United States. I thought YOU LOVE America ... I suppose I am wrong.
I guess you liked seeing Gov. Palin giving the opening address to the hate America group - a group who teach their children to say "We''re not American''s we''re Alaskans" and who also teach their children to put thumbs down when they hear American and thumbs up when they hear Alaska.
Gee, I apologize for being wrong about YOUR love of America. I guess you only LOVE your country when .... when .... it suits you. My grandma called people like you and people like Palin''s husband Todd ANTI-PATRIOTIC & ANTI-AMERICAN. But hey, it''s a free country.
By the way Sarah Palin does NOT wear a flag pin.
By the way: John McCain NEVER wears a flag pin AND McCain did NOT wear a flag pin last night. - Reply to this comment
- Republicans peddling more lies to America? That''s shocking!
