This should be easy.

Total gasoline sales in gallons vs. total gasoline purchased by the station. The gauges on the trucks pumping the gasoline into the station''s tanks are probably fairly accurate compared to those on the pumps that your car is accepting from.

Just pick a few suspect stations and do the math.

At %5 unemployment its hard to argue the economy is bad. Do I have enough Money? No, I still can''t afford a new Star Ship. Inflation sucks right now because we are in that time period were inflation leads wages. We have less money right now but when wages catchup I will actually have more money, because My house payment will remain constant. As a percentage of My income Inflation will force my house payment down. I Remember the early 80s, barley. My parents didn''t even have a phone because they could not afford it. Now under the crappy Bush economy my Ten year old has his own cell phone. I am so much better off than my parents were at this age and its all Bush''s fault.

I wish the oil companies and the government congress and this administration were as honest as the guy I buy my gas from. Today on another news service there was an article that stated that perhaps 80% of the oil for the US use was tied to speculators who deliberatly held the oil back from market to drive up the price. One such speculator was a Swiss firm that held 11% of the oil market. Try this one Our oil execs here in the good ole USA spend more money on lobbying their interests to Congress then Alternatives to oil. These guys think it is their God given right to Scr*w every American so they Can be rich. Congress insures them this right, (Just put the money in my back pocket boys). I am so sick of this I want to vomit. Congress, we the people demand you enact legislation to protect the many from the few filthy greedy cretures that inhabit this earth, or may I sugest to the American poeple, THere are more middle class individuals that are hurting then the filthy rich. Vote the incumbants out of office and get people in there that have the B*lls to serve the majority. $75 dollars a barrel is Plenty. Don''t belive these articles that say oh the Poor poor oil companies (wring hands) whatever will will do with a quarterly profit of only 20 billion versus the disgusting money they make now. Surely these guys are the worst So called americons who walk this earth. You got a vote Americans Use it or don''t complain when we are reduced to the world status equal to Somalia.

...it''s John McCain''s so-called "vast experience" that''s ripping me off.

It''s his "experience" that tells him that "tax cuts for the rich" that helps create jobs and helps the "middle class" instead of just cause plain old inflation.

It''s John Mcain''s so called vast "experience" that told us that the "War in Iraq" would pay for itself and cost free instead of just adding to the deficit and force the "middle class" to pay for it through inflationary gas prices.

I think it''s time for a CHANGE from this John McCain''s "experience"; we''ve had enough of it.

I have seen this before and will not return to these stations, especially the one station I describe here.

My car hold 13.5 gal and if I fill to the top of the nozzle I might get 14. I drove in with just under a quarter tank and put 15 gallons in. I spoke to the manager and he said they have nothing to do with the pump when it came to calibrating them.

I am outraged by high fuel prices in my area (.20-.50 more than anywhere else in the state or neighboring states that I have seen)and think more needs to be done to regulate these higher than usual prices in my area and being gouged by cheating at the pump just burns me more. States say they do not have the funds to pay for inspections. I say they can''t afford to have these pumps allowed to rip us off anymore.

Such a poor excuse for an article.

First the article should have explained steps you can take to protect your self. Know your vehicle and your driving habits. Learn to figure how much gas is left by reading the gauge. They are not standard and every car is different. You have to play with it. Then when you go to the station you will know within a quart how much gas your car will take to fill the tank.

Second. Even inspections will not catch dishonest owners. There was a case years ago in L.A. Where the station owner had a Computer expert reprogram the pumps. So that you were always shorted. The program knew how the pump inspection worked and was able to fool the inspectors. No one figured it out until a motorist put 22 gallons in his 16 gallon tank.

Pretty crappy reporting tonight for being the chief investigative reporter. You insinuate that gas pumps in the State of Georgia are inspected every 1 1/2 years. However, I manage a convenience/gas station for a large chain and our pumps are inspected and certified twice a year by the appropriate state of Georgia department and they are tested additionally by the company that services and repairs our pumps twice a year as well. That''s four times a year - every year in the past 9 years I''ve been there.
