Comments on: How Independent Are Vaccine Defenders?
Sharyl Attkisson Investigates Vaccine Advocates Taking Funding From The Companies Whose Vaccines They Endorse
- Unvaccinated children are no healthier than vaccinated - and those being hurt by measles and other totally preventable diseases are far less healthy. Study after study shows - sorry guys, but your child would have gotten autism without the vaccine. It happens all the time to unvaccinated children - every study shows the same result, same percentage of autism in non-vaccinated children as vaccinated children. In the meantime, fear, paranoia, and lies from anti-vaccine people (who also have their own financial interests!) are leaving children vulnerable to deadly diseases, children are DYING because of this hysteria.
I''m sure there are conflicts of interest - on both sides - but the studies - no matter from where - all tell the same tale. - Reply to this comment
- I LOVE YOU CBS!!! Wonderful job on the piece!!! My 2 1/2 yr old daughter was dx with autism but both my daughters were ALWAYS sick after getting vaxs. Either virus, ear infection, upset stomach, eye infections, EVERYTHING under the blue moon. Since I stopped ALL vax neither of them have been sick since. Coinsidence? I don''t think so!!!!! They need to find out what is going on with all the vax BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THEY ARE SAFE!!!!!

- btw keev8, my child WAS fully vaccinated until her doctor gave her a permanent medical exemption for all vaccines. So are all these kids who became autistic after their vaccines. How are these kids putting ANYONE in danger?
btw, when was your last MMR, tetanus, DTaP, etc? You know, adults should get them, too, as immunity wanes with age, and you can spread VPDs. If you are not caught up, you are putting many of our children in danger.
(mind you, many immunodeficient autistic children cannot create antibodies to vaccines)
I don''t see how asking for truth, change, and JUSTICE for our children is putting ANY child in danger. - Reply to this comment
- keev8, I guess you would have to argue with my daughter''s doctors about that.
Perhaps you may want to speak with the special master who ruled on the Hannah Poling case before you make such blatant idiotic statements on a public forum. - Reply to this comment
- You people are idiots. You endanger you children and other children who have not been vaccinated. The odds of adverse reactions, which are indeed real, are minscule compared to the changes of catching one of these often fatal diseases THAT WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO PREVENT.
By the way there is no proof that any vaccine--mercury containing or not--causes autism. - Reply to this comment
- Amazing how much the general public DOESN''T know about the vaccinations some of us are forced to give our kids. Kudos, CBS. As a mom of 2 autistic children, it''s about time the nation heard the truth.

- This is why I watch CBS News! Keep up the great work! The other stations are so biased in their coverage...it makes me sick! I''m not saying CBS is perfect (all the networks make mistakes), but when it comes down to the truly important and gutsy stories, CBS is doing a great job!
I hope/pray you keep it up CBS! If you do, I have no doubt that you be ranked #1 sooner than you think!! - Reply to this comment
- It''s about time this story made national news. I just hope the other networks are responsible enough to report it to the public as well. It wouldn''t surprise me one bit if they this story got little coverage, after all even TV networks are biased (just look at all the ridiculous drug companies who sponsor them).
Kudos to CBS for having the guts to report this story!
Although this is not to those of us who try to stay informed (from unbiased sources), it''s important for investigative journalists to do their digging and report this to the public. So hats off to CBS Evening News staff for a job well done!
For those of you who want more (unbiased) details, checkout the book "The Vaccine Guide: Risks and Benefits for Children and Adults" by Neustaedter. I recommend it every parent, or soon-to-be parent. My husband works in the medical field and he''s quite a skeptic, but after reading this book, he soon realized the incredible amount of deception and riskS surrounding vaccines. Parents - It''s just not worth it. Let''s not forget that MANY scientists are convinced of this! - Reply to this comment
- Just watched the story tonight- THANK YOU!
It is so refreshing to finally see unbiased media!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you

I only wish I knew before my daughter was injured!
My daughter never had a single thimerosal containing vaccine. However, she did have an underlying immunodeficiency that was NOT diagnosed prior to vaccination. This should have contraindicated her for vaccination.
She suffered a severe adverse reaction at 17 mos (rash, high fever and seizures)after receiving vaccines against measles, mumps, ruebella, varicella, diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, and haemophilus influenzae. Not only did she stop developing behaviorally after this event (and was dx''d severely autistic 4 months later), she also stopped growing for a yr, and has pituitary damage.
She now has a permanent medical exemption to ALL vaccinations.
We are in the process of testing her for mito dysfunction, as preliminary testing shows that she does have markers for this.
I hope the government does something, and QUICKLY! - Reply to this comment
